All these expenditures makes me think it's highly likely we'll sell him to PSG.
We'll probably end up spending the same as last season. Difference is we would of trimmed 600k+ off the wage bill by selling Van Persie, Nani and not having Falcao.

Felipe Anderson would be my choice, very exciting player to watch.

It's looking likely Gaitan will join after Rafael's agent confirming negotiations, I wouldn't want Di Maria to leave though.

I don't think so. We've let a lot of players of big wages to go over the last two years, and were loaded with money.

I wouldn't want us to completely rely on a Young and Depay.

It's a possibility, so we might as well discuss the possible replacements.

It's possible that we already have his replacement in depay, but my gut feeling is that the club will go all out to replace him with an equally impressive signing.

It might not necessarily be a wide player, but it'll be an attacking player nonetheless.

Possible targets:

1-Kevin De Bruyne
2-Griezmann
3-Reus
4-Lucas Moura
5-Cavani ( He could operate on the flanks and a wet dream for woody )

Predict away.
Easily De Bruyne. He's an assist machine.

Reus is the only person I would potentially want, but tbh the difference in performance level between the two would be negligible at best. ADM should stay, and these recent reports seem to fly in the face of what we all know about him and his background.

I just can't see it happening.

Personally, I'd have liked someone like Douglas Costa (before his move to Bayern) or Felipe Anderson. But there was reports saying LvG doesn't like working with South Americans, as they have poor work ethic in defending.

I don't think we'd have to replace Di Maria, as we have Young, Depay, Mata, Januzaj and Valencia who can all play on the wings.

De Bruyne to replace Di Maria? Can he play on the right hand flank?

I would say Griezmann. He would be nice but Atletico wouldn't one to sell arguably their best player last season.

I would say Reus but he usually plays on the left hand side and I think we need a winger to play on the right hand flank. We've got Depay, Young & Januzaj that can play on the left.

The last one but very unrealistic is Bale. Bale would be absolutely perfect but I just can't see him leaving.

There is nobody good enough to replace Di Maria. He has already proven to be one of the best players in the world. If he can rediscover his from, which I'm sure he will, he becomes invaluable. We have to keep him.

Reus, griezmann, Felipe Anderson, Fekir would be my top picks.

Bale would be perfect for the right wing, but he's staying at Madrid and would cost a fortune.

Other than him, options really are thin on the ground. Seems like we can recoup a lot of the money we spent on AdM, but you aren't going to replace a player of his quality like-for-like. There just isn't anyone available. We should keep him.

I'd LOVE Reus but I think he's probably off to one of the big two in Spain.
Do Barca need him?
I mean Messi Suarez and Neymar seem pretty good and I'm not sure I see Reus as back up to anybody.
I could see him at Madrid but possibly only if Bale or Ronaldo went (or Rafa plays Ronaldo up top - though Ronaldo has said in the past he does not want to do that)

I dont think after one below average season he'd leave... but if by any chance he does (which he wont), LVG wouldnt be looking in getting a replacement as we got Januzaj. Topic closed.

That'd be beyond ridiculous to rely on Januzaj to deliver match winning performances.

The same Januzaj who got even less time than a misfiring DiMaria last season. I dont think LVG rates him as highly as previous managers did so wouldn't expect him to be the immediate replacement.

Also i dont think his form is the sole issue here, fitting into a system and having problems off the pitch will be more of a trigger should he leave.

Reus would be the most getable, actually absolutely getable. Anyway I would rather want someone like Isco/De Bruyne, De bruyne for the sake of him snubbing City.. but I wouldn't care if we didnt sign anyone and gave chance to Depay/Januzaj/Pereira/Young/Mata, yes it could be quite risky but we could profit from it years later..

The muppet in me wants Reus, in terms of replacing Di Maria like for like. Dortmund never made their expected big sales, Hummels and Gundogan decided to stay put. So I think they'll let him go for the right amount so that they can rebuild. Maybe we can put Agent Bastian to work on this! ;)

But more realistically, I don't mind giving Januzaj a proper chance to challenge Mata for that wide right spot.

For me I would prefer Bale or Reus but if PSG really want him then we should demand they pay the amount we paid last year.

For me if he goes the funds will go to improving other areas of the squad, as he doesn't really have a defined place in the team.
We already have Adnan for the areas Van Gaal tried to put him last season.

What? did i say rely on him for match winning performance? its team a game my friend and what i saw during the Moyes era, an 18 year old lad hold his own and out performed most of the senior players in that team during that terrible season. So he does have match winning performances in him anyways but LVG is building a "team" not a one man show like Real Madrid. The kid needs game time and if by any chance Di Maria does leave then rightfully he should get more chances and he will because LVG likes to rely on young players.

The same Januzaj who got even less time than a misfiring DiMaria last season. I dont think LVG rates him as highly as previous managers did so wouldn't expect him to be the immediate replacement.

I dont expect him to immediately replace anyone, Janzuaj is his own player and if Di Maria leave, LVG wont be going searching for another big name. He's got talented youths like Januzaj in the club and can adapt much faster within the system. With schedule now bulked up with UCL in the mix, he will get game time. You just have to remember that the youth is the future, LVG hasnt planned to send him out on loan just yet so he's got pre-season to show his performance, then LVG will decide weather to keep him within the ranks or send him out on loan. It's unknown till the season begins but LVG likes to rely on his youth so like said, if Di Maria does by some stupid chance leaves. LVG will not be searching in the market for his replacement. It's just not what he does, especially knowing the talents United has in the youth ranks
