After the second time the commentator referred to Blackett as Blacklett, I just put the commentary on mute.
They said several times that the pitch was soggy? And kept pointing out that players were slipping too much. In fact they didn't shut up about it.Funny how the commentators kept insisting that the players and coaches loved how great the pitch was while the truth was the wxact oppositand they mentioned more than 3 times during the game as if they're narketing the stadium for future games
You know nothing until you heard Sjierd de Vos from Sport1 (dutch tv)
For example you are watching Madrid vs Valencia and he suddenly goes on to have a 10 min chat about "in the streets of valencia, there is this little cafe called El Polo Loco. And at El Polo Loco they have this special menu called blabla and at this restaurant back in 2008 Sergio Ramos met his girlfriend for the first time. it was love at first sight etc etc"
Its insane really lol
Got caught in possession a couple of times. Not great overall, tbh.@WyoManU Carrick wasn't awful at all
Played up front for the u21's all last season, didn't he?LAdnan seems to have bulked up too, using his body to hold off defenders and turn them. Seems have been working on playing upfront.
Cruyff turn I thought and he'd want to spend less time practicing them and more time working on 20 yard passes to his own fecking team mates.Did Evans just do a Zidane turn?
Roma ran circles around us. We just scored from our two chances to progress.Except for the game against Inter, I think we looked good against AS Roma and Real Madrid before beating Liverpool in the "final".
Why the Evans hate on here I will never understand. He looked way better than Jones for starters and it is not like other players didn't misplace passes. Smalling made a meal out of a much simpler pass which gave them an opportunity.Cruyff turn I thought and he'd want to spend less time practicing them and more time working on 20 yard passes to his own fecking team mates.
Good 1st half against Roma bad 2nd.Roma ran circles around us. We just scored from our two chances to progress.
Januzaj played as a striker today.Januzaj > Mata today*
And I have no idea why.Januzaj played as a striker today.
Played well up top, more suited to that position than Lingard or Perreria. And I have no idea why.
Go and have a look at my comments on the Evans transfer thread yesterday and then come back and apologise for including me in your generalisation. Why the Evans hate on here I will never understand. The dislike for a player often comes in the way of actually seeing how he actually performed.
He did well, but he's a number 10 really. He needs a lot more involvement to show his quality as is the case with playmakers. It's preseason which is about giving everyone a chance but in the long run I hope we don't convert him. Even last season I didn't think he played his natural game (too much touch line hugging).Played well up top, more suited to that position than Lingard or Perreria.
Would disagree. For me Depay would get in over Rooney, Young over Lingard and Schweinsteiger over Carrick.Best XI from today 4-3-3
Johnstone
Darmian Jones Evans Shaw
Carrick
Herrera Schneiderlin
Lingard Rooney pereira
You either love or hate him, and i absolutely despise him lol. He just completely ruins matches. I want to watch football, not a Spain tour guide. That isn't even exaggerated and exactly why I love him, he's so random at times and can make boring games so much more fun. Everytime I now see Arda Turan I think he's called super turk because of Sierd
Depay had some good touches but he too didn't exactly have a good game. I chose Rooney because he played the striker and he was better than Wilson. Schweini was good but had a few misplaced passes one of which almost led to a goal. He was good but not better than Carrick imo. Lingard was real good I thought. And he played better than mata did at RWWould disagree. For me Depay would get in over Rooney, Young over Lingard and Schweinsteiger over Carrick.
No Rooney, Lingard or Carrick for me. The former 2 did squat.Best XI from today 4-3-3
Johnstone
Darmian Jones Evans Shaw
Carrick
Herrera Schneiderlin
Lingard Rooney pereira
Rooney and Evans?? You sure you were awake?Best XI from today 4-3-3
Johnstone
Darmian Jones Evans Shaw
Carrick
Herrera Schneiderlin
Lingard Rooney pereira
Sierd de Vos is so weird, he's the only commentator who you actually notice. He commentates from Isco's dog (Barca) till a swimming pool when its rainy. He's great. You either love or hate him, and i absolutely despise him lol. He just completely ruins matches. I want to watch football, not a Spain tour guide.
No Rooney, Lingard or Carrick for me. The former 2 did squat.
It's the best out of the two in each position. Evans was better than blind at LCB, Lingard looked better than mata Carrick was slightly better than schweini and Rooney was better than Wilson. Only Carrick is arguableRooney and Evans?? You sure you were awake?
Carrick was caught in possession a few times in the first half, nearly gave a goal or two away as a result. Was really poor. Depay was the standout player of the first half imo, Rooney did absolutely nothing. I'd nearly have Wilson over him.Depay had some good touches but he too didn't exactly have a good game. I chose Rooney because he played the striker and he was better than Wilson. Schweini was good but had a few misplaced passes one of which almost led to a goal. He was good but not better than Carrick imo. Lingard was real good I thought. And he played better than mata did at RW
Neither do I have the time nor the inclination to read other threads for your posts. As far as apologizing is concerned, I won't because your comment was unnecessarily harsh considering it was just the first match of the pre-season and there were players misplacing passes left, right and center.Go and have a look at my comments on the Evans transfer thread yesterday and then come back and apologise for including me in your generalisation.
Watching a match and calling what you see is not hate, it is simply calling what you see.
Other players under hit passes or made mistakes under pressure. Evans on 3 occasions, hoofed long passes straight to the opposition. Once when he was under pressure and twice when he was not. Two of the passes put us under real pressure. I expect more from Evans and said so but that isn't "hate".
I disagree with you that he looked better than Jones today.
Sierd isn't to everyone's taste, I didn't like him at first either. But after spending many afternoons watching boring BBVA and EL matches I started to appreciate his little tips during matches to google names of players their hot sistersYou either love or hate him, and i absolutely despise him lol. He just completely ruins matches. I want to watch football, not a Spain tour guide.
Everything is arguable, as it's all subjective. I'd personally have januzaj ahead of rooney as he almost played as a striker today. Schweinstiger definitely better than Carrick IMO. And lingard did nothing for me. Mata was better despite being just okay himself. Opinions. It's the best out of the two in each position. Evans was better than blind at LCB, Lingard looked better than mata Carrick was slightly better than schweini and Rooney was better than Wilson. Only Carrick is arguable
Bravo. Great reasoned response. And good job following the rule of discussing a point and not attacking a poster.
Carrick is debatable yes. Schweini too made mistakes. On second thoughts yes having Schneiderlin and darmian would probably have helped schweini too. Hopefully it is just rustiness. Rooney got into positions and even got in a shot (which was shit). Wilson ran hard with no real end product. Got a couple of chances which amounted to nothing. He imo is still raw and needs a loan this season (unfortunately we are short of strikers so I don't see it happening)Carrick was caught in possession a few times in the first half, nearly gave a goal or two away as a result. Was really poor. Depay was the standout player of the first half imo, Rooney did absolutely nothing. I'd nearly have Wilson over him.
But football is about opinions.
I tried the reasoned response mate. You read and took what you wanted to take.Bravo. Great reasoned response. And good job following the rule of discussing a point and not attacking a poster.
Plus he always makes it insanely obvious how much he loves barca and dislikes madrid lol. Its not fun to watch the match when you are a madrid fan. I sit there watching hearing him rant about marcelo/pepe/ramos like the majority of the match how they got no brains, or should be locked up....or suggesting that marcelo puts chili peppers in his anus.Sierd isn't to everyone's taste, I didn't like him at first either. But after spending many afternoons watching boring BBVA and EL matches I started to appreciate his little tips during matches to google names of players their hot sisters
I pointed out what I saw in the match in terms of other players being equally rusty and you didn't bother to notice any of that, even if you did you didn't take the effort to put that in your posts.I tried the reasoned response mate. You read and took what you wanted to take.
I'm not getting drawn into an argument with a guy who's already decided what my opinion is and explicitly refuses to receive posts which show otherwise.
This is my last post on this matter.I pointed out what I saw in the match in terms of other players being equally rusty and you didn't bother to notice any of that, even if you did you didn't take the effort to put that in your posts.
However you explicitly mentioned Evans' lack of passing skills which is what I pointed out. When I mentioned other players making similar sloppy passes and having poor positioning, you came up with that stupid line about arguing with idiots and what not. Learn to accept that people can have differing views than you. I didn't attack you personally when you thought Evans was poor. I just mentioned that personal bias can come in the way of reasoning which is true for most people.
that commentary was fecking woeful and so was the refereeing, the ref looked like it was his most important match in his career and whistled almost everything..I know it's a cliché to give out about American commentary but that was fecking painful. There was a 15 second spell where they first spoke about what a shame it was that United's new transfer policy meant we are no longer bringing players from the academy in a touring squad that includes Johnstone, Blackett, McNair, Goss, Pereira, Januzaj, Lingard and Wilson, 7 of whom got 45 minutes tonight. Then they questioned the flag not being raised for offside from a throw in and finally something thing else which really annoyed me but I've forgotten. All in the space of 15 or 20 seconds. Then they tried to tell us the pitch that we could see flat passes bobbling all over was a perfect surface.
Then the entire second half slagging off Van Gaal for not being out on the touchline bawling instructions in the first preseason friendly of the summer. As if he wasn't quite rightly watching his players to learn a but more about them and won't go over everything in detail with them this week. There was the whole Blacklett, Smallings and however the hell he was pronouncing Herrera fiasco and to top it all off, they had Warren Barton who seems to be the worlds least likeable man spouting shite all over the place.
Pereira though. God if he didn't make it all worthwhile!
