This is hilarious, but also unbelievable that something like this was allowed to happen to a multi million pound deal between two clubs of this magnitude.

What were they using to transfer the documents? Two plastic cups attached to a piece of string?

Had they been willing to pay £30m which is still incredibly cheap for a keeper of his quality and small change for Madrid, they could have got him in June. feck Madrid.

LvG will have to play De Gea from now, obviously. Keeping him in the stands benefits no one.
Hasn't he got a contract with them for 12m to stay for 1 year so he goes on a freebie. Why would he be pissed. It is a win-win for him. If the deal goes through he gets what he wants, if not he waits a year and gets 12M.

If it is time stamped, that wont work.... and unless the FA makes an exception and are clear about it, the other clubs will go crazy...

They cant just say it was on time and brush it under the carpet
Yes, I am not very optimistic, basically for what you said, all the clubs would complain. I think that 7 years ago happened something similar and was accepted

What I don´t get is that €25M+Navas could probably have been done a week ago. I don´t see why they needed to wait that long. It´s a reasonable deal both ways. United could have looked to off-load Romero and Valdes to roll with Navas+Johnstone and maybe a young promising keeper with experience from Germany/Switzerland, who seem to produce them in bunches.

Let's see if we can get a pun or punchline into the media twittersphere. How about:

Galfaxicos blunder?

David de Stayer?

Both Madrid and Man Utd are claiming the time stamps are 2359, and they have the physical evidence to prove it. If Madrid and Man Utd together take this to FIFA and UEFA then the deal will go through. If it was one versus the other it'd be different. However, short of Barcelona and the other super clubs making a massive stink of it, this is definitely going through.

Looks like UEFA will decided tomorrow, seeing as both Madrid and United have proof then there is no reason for the deal not to go through. Both clubs are to appeal tomorrow

I bet Sky are gutted this all happened the day before deadline day - they needed the big guns out for this one. Jim White would've surely saved the day with his 200 phones.
