Holloway speaks a lot of sense. Very unprofessional from United.
So according to Holloway, Fergie and Gill would have control over what Real Madrid do? Because this was their mistake not ours. We got our papers in on time.

And we often did late business under Fergie. Berbatov was half an hour over the deadline but we were granted an extension. In Spain this wouldn't have been allowed. So I'm afraid Holloway hasn't got a clue what he's talking about yet again.

Are you kidding? He's a twat.

Says a lot that he's spending deadline day in a television studio, commenting on what real managers are doing.

Interestingly (predictably?) Real Madrid official statement has lumped all the blame at our door...

Meh, even if we were in the wrong, I'd struggle to feel particularly sorry for them considering they'd have probably got him a month ago if they'd just paid a really high fee.

Right so SSN having a go at us for sticking to our ground and not bending over for Real.

Utter dicks.
Madrid feckt around for over 2 months, lowballing us. Glad we didnt give in. And for Dave personally its a disaster, however for me as a fan feck him. Im sick of players that do not want to be here and see us as some kind of stopgap.

Is anyone else savoring the thought of De Gea, in his brand new special white suit, sitting at home on his couch in Madrid, quietly weeping while a presentation podium at the Bernabeu goes unused and a press conference is cancelled?

So it seems like their implying that we took ages (8 hours) to draw up a contract with Navas, right?

Hmmm, funny how they managed to get one sorted for DDG so quickly. Almost, as if they'd already agreed terms with him before yesterday, some might say.

cnuts.

Why would anyone blame United if the reports are true. We're the selling club we don't have to initiate the sale? Besides, yes we may lose 20m pounds from the sale, but leaving it late(Madrid fault for that) is not a pleasant experience trying to get a keeper when other clubs know your desperate.. We have 1 year to look for a replacement and still a top keeper in our ranks(if LvG decides to play him).

Our fault for the situation is that we clanged our dicks the whole summer instead of looking for a replacement.

And sort out the GK position at our club. It's not bowing down - it's being sensible.
How are you sorting out the GK position by bringing in a goalkeeper who doesn't want to be here? Who's biggest weakness is dealing with crosses and aerial ability? We should do better than Navas, and now we have a whole year to find an actual replacement. Someone from Northern Europe who won't run away to Spain, has a higher ceiling, a reasonable price, and many years ahead of him. The GK market has probably never been better than now, so feck me if I'm not happy with settling for Navas. De Gea will be out for a little while, but he will eventually be back in the team. As for the money we missed out on - who gives a damn? The way we've been spending and splashing the last years I hardly think it's a problem.

Real Madrid not appealing this deal with La Liga is surely very telling that it was botched at their end and not ours. £29m plus Navas was a pretty good deal for us, and one that Madrid have been hesitant about putting forward all summer. They waited until the last day to finally play ball, and it goes through too late. It was in our best interests to allow this deal to go ahead.

United weren't telling Madrid that he's categorically not for sale all summer. They rightly held out for a fair fee, and/or a player in return. It looked like we were close to getting that, but it was delayed until deadline day. They seemed content to get him for free next summer.

So, what exactly are United being blamed for?

Real did this on purpose.

Prediction: DdG will end up at Barca. He won't forgive Real for this humiliation.

There were 6 packs on special offer in Lidl last night, but I got there 10 minutes too late and they were sold out.

How embarrassing for Lidl!
