Not even that. Madrid offered NO MONEY at all until yesterday. Yesterday Morning was their first ever bid for De Gea.People keep saying this but I don't get it.
1) United have tried to get DDG to sign a new contract for over a year now (and a lucrative one at that) but he is not willing to sign.
2) Madrid offered shit money for him so United thought it would be best to keep him for a year and let him go on a free next year.
3) As soon as Madrid offered a decent amount, United were willing to let go of DDG but the deal could not go through.
The only thing that could have been avoided was LVG not playing DDG even though LVG put up a decent argument for it.
By hook or by crook Madrid will force this through today with special dispensation of some kind. Remember when City were allowed to sign a goalkeeper when the window was shut? I garauntee all their keepers are all of a sudden injured and unable to play.Any chance of Madrid forcing this through today? Or is it utterly and completely dead?
Can't see it not happening. It's in everybody's best interest that this goes through.Any chance of Madrid forcing this through today? Or is it utterly and completely dead?
Will rafa start talking about Fax in his pressers?
Will rafa start talking about Fax in his pressers?
Amen. This is amazing. feck De Gea and feck Madrid.
No way, really?!I just read that the deal is off because the papers came in late. That would be awesome.
It was part of a process that started months ago.Heard it was password protected and when they finally cracked it(philosophy) with one minute left.....it was the wrong format.
Nah, I was kidding. No way, really?!
It wouldn't be awesome at all. It's a fecking joke and leaves us with a player who clearly doesn't want to play for us, nor expected to.I just read that the deal is off because the papers came in late. That would be awesome.
Let if fly i say,let it fly.It was part of a process.
That's a life of a professional footballers. Suck it up, and play your best. Euro is around the corner, so I doubt he'd be "disctracted" for long time.It wouldn't be awesome at all. It's a fecking joke and leaves us with a player who clearly doesn't want to play for us, nor expected to.

"Everything was done and everyone was waiting. David de Gea was at his girlfriend's house in Madrid, [Real Madrid president] Florentino Perez was at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Navas was there too and was waiting to pass a medical, and everything was signed and sent to Manchester.
"But the information is that the documentation didn't come back from Manchester United on time.
Is it really Real's fault?
1) It was the last day and such delays could always happen (Ex, Coentrao). Is it United's fault that Madrid were sitting on their asses all this while?http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-geas-move-from-man-utd-to-real-madrid-stalls

United are adamant they prepared everything with time to spare and that the blame should not be apportioned in their direction. United have a time-stamp on the various faxes, filed through Fifa’s Transfer Matching System to validate it was not their fault and clearly think Real are culpable for waiting so long to arrange a transfer that has been in the offing for several months.
Real’s tactic now appears to have backfired on them logistically because, even though the two clubs started talking on Monday morning, United were also involved in several other major pieces of business rather than devoting all their attention to one deal.
Suck it up? Regardless of how pampered and well paid they are, they are people. I can't see De Gea suddenly wanting to give his all for the club who fecked up his dream move. That's a life of a professional footballers. Suck it up, and play your best. Euro is around the corner, so I doubt he'd be "disctracted" for long time.
Somehow I reckon de Gea would have been up to the job of translatingYea it seems that its down to Madrid to register the transfer with the LFP and not United. So all the blame lies at Madrids door for this one, even if it was sent in the wrong format or password protected surely there was a phone number they could call to get the password, unless there was no translator available to relay the message between Spanish and English.
God, that would be funny!Somehow I reckon de Gea would have been up to the job of translating
Possible transfer ban coming in for 2016 too so he may not be able to play until January 2017...oh dear.
Hes getting nearly 4 million quid in wages, he can swim through shit if that is what the club want for that. Hes not a victim here, hes a very rich man being paid more than a lifetimes a earnings a year to play football for Manchester United. I'm sure he will manage.Suck it up? Regardless of how pampered and well paid they are, they are people. I can't see De Gea suddenly wanting to give his all for the club who fecked up his dream move.
And I think you give it too much importance. As said, with Euro coming up, and generally, being a professional, I don't see him being unmotivated.Suck it up? Regardless of how pampered and well paid they are, they are people. I can't see De Gea suddenly wanting to give his all for the club who fecked up his dream move.
God knows what happened. What I do know is that this deal was handled poorly and we're the ones who will lose the most out of it. We're now left with a pissed off keeper who will leave on a free next summer and a disaster waiting to happen as his cover1) It was the last day and such delays could always happen (Ex, Coentrao). Is it United's fault that Madrid were sitting on their asses all this while?
2) What you've posted to Ballbags' version. Here is what's given in Daniel Taylor's article:
Well it's clearly their fault the whole thing went right down to the wire. They could have signed De Gea weeks ago, if they weren't quibbling over the fee for the possible future best goalkeeper in the world.http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-geas-move-from-man-utd-to-real-madrid-stalls

It's all relative. To them, getting paid 4m is normal. Therefore you can cancel all that stuff that outrages the normal man and boil them down to the over emotional, selfie taking youngsters that they are.Hes getting nearly 4 million quid in wages, he can swim through shit if that is what the club want for that. Hes not a victim here, hes a very rich man being paid more than a lifetimes a earnings a year to play football for Manchester United. I'm sure he will manage.

I agree. However we're the one losing the most out of itWell it's clearly their fault the whole thing went right down to the wire. They could have signed De Gea weeks ago, if they weren't quibbling over the fee for the possible future best goalkeeper in the world.
None of us know exactly why United missed the deadline last night, or whether they were given enough time by Madrid to do due diligence at their end. So it's possible this is also Madrid's fault.
Mind you, Woody has established a bit of a reputation for transfer farce. So this does look like one to add to his growing list of bizarre cock-ups.
Then feck him. He can play reserve football. Good luck getting in the Euros.Suck it up? Regardless of how pampered and well paid they are, they are people. I can't see De Gea suddenly wanting to give his all for the club who fecked up his dream move.
