He said that De Gea contract was agreed in the afternoon, later they sent Navas contract to United and was sent back 8 hours later.
Yeah but how is that possible if as he says United relayed to them through Mendes that they were willing to sell De Gea only 2 hours before the deadline.

So how could Real have agreed terms with DDG 8 hours earlier, he is clearly contradicting himself is he not?

What is the general attitude of Real fans towards Keylor Navas?

He doesn't really seem rated here but apparently Real fans are very taken with him?

Look at some of them. Apparently had an excellent performance in the last game and was rewarded by almost being shoved out of the door.

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!

Gollum Ball-ache said on SKY transfer deadline day Tuesday morning that everything was agreed with DdG privately at the start of last season, apparently DdG has known for over a week exactly which time the presentation ceremony was set to be. The exact quote was: "it's the way Real always operates" it doesn't matter that if we did that it would be called tapping up but whatever!

I'm sure someone later revealed that we had been scouting Herrera for 3 years prior to the collapse of the move that summer. And yes, they did pull the plug due to that.
I'm sure there's a lot of players we've scouted on and off for 3 years or even longer but never signed. It's a few years ago now and I didn't really follow all of it that closely, but I don't really remember much apart from media talk and those three amigos - I'm not really sure how any of that can be used against United now. Seems like he's just picking random transfers that didn't happen and using them against Woodward, especially when it's paired with Coentrao.

Besides, his two examples happened two years ago when Woodward was actually still wearing his "New at work"-tag, so saying he was inexperienced back then is hardly breaking news.

Something tells me he is upset with Woody.

Probably because of the whole stand at the start of the Window re Ramos and De Gea that united took. Then chasing of Bale.

Just perhaps this is real being very clever
De Gea comes back in a mood and basically gets a 4 month holiday before transfering to Real on 1st Jan for say £5m and gets to play in the latter stages of the CL with his new contract, a bumper signing on fee now real have saved on the transfer plus an overall saving for real (and they get to keep navas)... everyone is a winner except us...
could real accidentally mess this up or is it just a very clever con trick to get him at a better price.
probably uber paranoia but the more I think of it the more plausible it sounds... tell united we will pay what they want so we are allowed to talk to de gea and then let him in on the secret plan
De Gea is named in the United CL squad. I don't know if that is enough or if he has to be in the team for a match, but either way, Real will not get to use him in CL this season.

Not nearly the savings some think, since the word is De Gea has a contract to collect 10 million euros bonus from Real if he stays until next summer. That reduces their savings quite a bit, PLUS it gives us a year to advance (with luck) in CL and maybe get him to sign an extension. If we had let him go, there would be no second chance for us.

Interesting, so even Madrid fans don't really believe him? Won't it be a problem for him at the next election?
He will be 70 so I have my doubts if he will continue after 2017. He is ruthless and many people don´t agree with him but he transformed Real Madrid, the financial results are good (yesterday , curiously he presented a net benefit of 42m€)and the top players are still coming. He lost la liga but won la Décima. There is a group called "Valores del Madridismo" that always attacks Florentino after all these episodes but I can´t imagine them with enough financial support to be candidates. It´s a must a lot of money (endorsement)+ be associated during 20 years. I heard that Sanchis, the former player could be candidate, but would have very difficult to challenge Florentino or the next Florentino.

Fans want to give him a try . If he is not good enough then will be criticized but people like him, as all people from América Central is humble , modest and religious. He spent the whole year in the bench and didn´t protest. In the field is a spectacular goalkeeper. As we say, his saves are for the camera.

I'm pretty sure that's supposed to say 24 hours before the deadline, like the Real Madrid official statement stated at first.

Florentino only goes publicly when the associates are upset and when the press is hard with him. It´s too obvious and scripted. Marca published now the new about the interview, titled "We couldn´t abandon De Gea". Some of the most voted comments in Marca: "I would like to know what good madridistas think about the behavior with Keylor", "you shouldn´t have abandoned Keylor", "Florentino resign, stop the lies", "the brainwashing started", "now is United fault? and when you got Cristiano, you are classless Floren". Anyway I think that Florentino won´t have real problems with this.
Good to see the majority of Real fans are not buying in to his bullshit.

Must have taken a while to get that whistle knocked up. Even that globetrotting Indian tailor needs more than two hours.

This time I hope we don't respond directly to this classless fool. Our next club statement will hopefully be announcing De Gea's new contract.

That part about him knowing people who won't join United because of our supposed inexperience is exactly the same as people on bluemoon claiming their rag friend did this or that.

Both are complete bollocks.

Hope we get some process-based humour from Van Gaal's next press conference, no doubt he will be asked about this and Perez/Madrid's comments.

Perez is such an odious, greasy little hobbit. Hope he chokes on his own bulbous tongue.

Memory is a bit hazy but didn't he make comments last summer about being unhappy with Woodward for not talking to him directly to place bids for Di Maria.

Something along the lines of him being upset when the bids came in because he felt he had a good relationship with us and Woodward didn't approach him directly.

Also Woodward has got to be a great guy, if Perez doesn't like him or his way of doing things.

Yeah i think it might be a typo of some sort, as i would hope he isn't that much of an idiot. Still some strange comments though about United dealings and inexperience.

Knowing of players who didn't want to go to United because of this inexperience, and name dropping players like Otamendi as proof when as far as is known we never had any real interest in the player.

The best possible response from us will be De Gea signing a new contract and saying 'real has let me down'

I love how Perez claims players don't want to come here because of our inexperience with transfers. As if that's something that registers in their mind when they decide where to play.

 Perez has lost it. Barca winning another treble has made any brain cells he'd left disappear into thin air.

I think the club will be obliged to respond - Perez's comments are a snide slur on the club's/Woodward's professionalism and abilities.

He's basically saying 'Im not here to blame anyone, but I blame United'.

Honestly, either keep it shut or speak your mind. Hate people like that.

I wouldn't.
The only person perez has made look bad is himself really. And we'd just be repeating the same shit again, if we do respond i hope its just to say we stand by our previous statement

Really hope United presses legal action. My hatred for Madrid is equal to that of Liverpool, unbearable club. At least Liverpool fans don't turn on their own players and attack their cars. No good qualities from Madrid at all.

Not sure that was his A plan.
I think at the end it was absolutely his plan. We can all laugh at him only IF De Gea signs, but until then, i believe he planned all of this. I have changed my opinion on De Gea, i think he will sign the new contract.

Perez is having a meltdown here....F**king bid for him before the last day you helmet!!

It's a classless statement bringing up Herrera.....Then he brings up Pedro and Otamendi and it shows what a tosspot of a club Madrid are.

Why would even mention them?!

all the club has to say is...

Manchester United Fc refuse to comment on the statements made by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. We would like to affirm that Manchester United act swiftly and professionally in all transfer dealings. We will continue to act in this manner and look forward to continuing the season with United player David De Gea.

Or just show a picture of him signing a new contract

I don't buy this whole "We didn't put a bid in until deadline day because United said he wasn't for sale" bullshit for one second.

When has that ever stopped Madrid??

I reckon if it was Real's plan to sign DDG on a free next summer we wouldn't have had the media campaign all summer and stretching back to March/April linking them with a move for him.

It's plainly obvious they wanted him to be their marquee signing this year.
