Is it so unbelievable that they could win the title within 4 years? They were a whisker away from doing it within the last 4 years with Rodgers.

Klopp's a world class manager who'll undeniably be able to attract a higher calibre of player. I'll be stunned if Liverpool are still signing the likes of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana come the summer.
Agree with this. But then again when they did almost win it, they had the X factor player in suarez

All that drooling over him from the media and Twitter is nauseating and cringey. I like the guy, to be honest, and it's a good press conference but looking at the reactions I feel like it didn't really matter what he was going to say. They are building a **** around him before he's even managed a game. I'm talking about the english media in general. They love to do that.
He had a veiled pop at them today, I think mostly the media were too thick to realise it was a dig, but in a months time, when they've processed it, they'll probably turn on him.

Will Klopp get full control on transfers? I assume this would have been one of his conditions?
Of course he won't. He's never had that at a club before and it doesn't seem like he wants it.

So far so good for him, but him elevating Liverpool to new heights is still far from a sure thing.

Great appointment for them however you want to spin it. He is an upgrade. He will attract better players to the club (at least initially).

However, this league is a far cry from the german league. The top teams will be difficult to overtake given spending power alone. I think he will be shocked at how hard this league is, much the same as LVG has. Even with the wealth of experience managing different leagues in Europe, LVG has struggled to cope. I think klopp will be much of the same and needs to be given a lot of time to even get them back to the CL.

It might be a possibility that he will get top 4 for them but winning the league would mean the stars have to align. He is in for a difficult ride and expectations over there are ridiculous. Almost as bad as our club.

Also with the media lapping up his "Maybe I am the normal one?" line - didnt Avram Grant say that when he took over at Chelsea?

When Spurs beat Liverpool in the match a week on Saturday, the headline will be "Klopp Clipped"

I really don't get the furore over this. Klopp is a quality manager that's for certain but it takes quite a few boxes to tick together to achieve success in PL.

His English sounds quite good, doesn't it? Seems like he really worked on it over the last few months.
His English massively improved already during the CL season 13/14. He started really poorly and ended up a lot better. It was a bit surprising to me that a man of his age and education (A-levels with about 7-9 years of English lessons, university degree in sports science) spoke so little English when he started with EL and CL pressers.

In 4 years, if he is still here, he will win the title for Scousers says Klopp
Didn't watch it but did he say the title or a title? The latter would sound more like Klopp who aimed for reaching every German cup final.

In german they use the title loosly like a trophy. He is probably refering to winning a trophy in next4 years. Which isnt too wrong. If wigan can win the f.a. cup...
Okay yeah if he meant winning a trophy then that's possible but no way are Liverpool winning the league title in the next four years. Klopp is a great manager but he's got his work cut out for him at Liverpool.

No, that isnt what I am saying.Liverpool have been a mid-table side for the better part of this decade, with this, they might become regularly champions league challenger at least. Rawk meltdowns and all that, the beauty of that stems from Liverpool's averageness. The fact that they could attract such a world class manager doesnt sit well with me.

And as some poster stupidly put it, I do not have Klopp posters or am I his biggest fan. But I acknowledge that he has been one of the better managers and would be a coup for any club, even Liverpool. I still hope he fails, but I wouldnt be suprised if he didnt. Thats all I was saying.
Fair enough. This thread has been so full of posters behaving like teenage girls would if they heard Beiber is getting married, it is hard to differentiate. :)

I think they will win the title within the next 4-5 years.

More importantly he does not have a suarez and an injury free sturridge/coutinho or a midfield of alonso/mascherano/prime gerrard and pre shit torress. He will have to find and mould one which is very difficult.
No matter how good a manager he is, players wont simply come to liverpool to play under him. Money, champions league and better area to live will be important considerations. They cant offer same money nor champions league yet and certainly not the area to live.

Totally agree with this. Seems like some Liverpool fans are under the impression they can attract the big names without CL football which I can't see them doing. And like you said, Liverpool can't compete with the likes of United, City, Chelsea in the market when it comes to money.

The players must be absolutely buzzing though.

I can't remember any signing, player or manager, as big as this for us.

The Klopp love in kicks into overdrive before he's taken charge of his first match!

The state of it.

Sounds like we're going to be jealous of their football style soon...
Sounds like he's going to absolutely Traveller his players; expect Sturridge to explode in a shower of bones, springs etc.

These sort of lines are only really relevant when they're said with hindsight.

He doesn't have the playing staff at Liverpool to pull off miracles. As I've said before, I'm a huge fan and can't deny my disappointment but he's going to need a 'make-shift' solution until the end of the season.

Implementing Dortmund's strategy just isn't going to work I feel. They'll get battered like that.

There's an awful lot of players on the books at Liverpool that are not Klopp type players at all. As an example, I'll be shocked if we continue to see Milner in midfield.

I will have my Harry Kane jersey on ;)
Excellent. And if he scores a brace for a 2 - 0 win, the Daily Star will surely go with: "'Pool bent double as they take one in the Klopper"

Klopp is Liverpool's best signing since Luis Suarez.

I'll gladly dig up some quotes about LvG from people on here if you think it was any different back then :p That's just the way it is with football fans in general, not only at Liverpool.

''I don't want to spend ££££ that the club doesn't have'' - they're skint, Brendan has skint them!!! Well done Brendan. Good work.

"All I heard and read and felt when I saw matches with Liverpool. I love football and the intensity of football in Liverpool is very, very good for me. I always thought about England and working here because of the style of football and Liverpool was first choice."

Unfortunately with no other options left he has to say those.Right now i don't have any hate towards this guy, lets see where this all go.

Can't stand the way since Mourinho declared himself 'the special one' it seems like every single new manager to the PL gets asked to provide a catchy soundbite for themselves, feck off with that shite please.
