There once was a kid from Toronto...
30m should get us Andreas Pereira, he looks pretty good.
Cheers!I think there's too many unrealistic expectations about an 18 year old player who has about 10 games in the portuguese league. I admit he has alot of potencial but i think he hasn't showed enough for the overhyping he's getting in the media. Gonçalo Guedes was supposed to be the new Ronaldo (although his playing style is completely different) and now he's on the bench and getting plenty of criticism from media and Benfica supporters. You have to give him more time in order for him to prove himself in our league and evolve with constant playing time. Anyways i think he will be a very interesting player in the future for portuguese football.
Because similar hair means everything!Looks like a poor man's Anderson. Ando was a freak at that age and had great passing range, too bad he loved himself one pie too many.
No, similar playing positions, coming from the same league and the penetrative ground passing style has something to do with it but you go ahead and assume that I've never seen a black person before because that's what you are limited to.Because similar hair means everything!
I think this would be more of a club signing. We should not allow this idiot to waste one more cent of our war chest especially on an eighteen year old with less than fifty games on his back. Why not give the game time to Perreira instead?
I would I imagine if there is any truth in this then this would be a club type signing/trusting the scouts, he'll likely be loaned back until the summer anyway by which time LvG hopefully will be gone.We should not allow this idiot to waste one more cent of our war chest especially on an eighteen year old with less than fifty games on his back. What the hell. What has Perreira to do with this guy? The jury is still out on Perreira anyway so calm your tits. This lad looks pretty exciting from the vids. Like a young Ando without the injuries and with a better shot.We should not allow this idiot to waste one more cent of our war chest especially on an eighteen year old with less than fifty games on his back. It looks that way but still it's a lot of money to spend on another kid when our team is still crying out for consistent performers. On the same page, I think the Shaw, Martial and this potential signing signal an attempt to return to the Rooney-Ronaldo type of deals where we spend heavily on a bunch of highly rated youngsters and hope to groom them, if it works then in a couple of years we'd have some team.I would I imagine if there is any truth in this then this would be a club type signing/trusting the scouts, he'll likely be loaned back until the summer anyway by which time LvG hopefully will be gone.
At £30 million for an 18 year old then you have to have faith that he has something a bit special, and if so any future manger will want him.
Would still be surprised if we do anything window though personally, & the DM is rarely right with their 'exclusives'
Agree, there is something exciting about signing young players, have to remember he should be on a lower wage bracket initially too, but I'm all for it if the scouts have seen something special in him, espcially if it's the same scouts that tracked Martial. It looks that way but still it's a lot of money to spend on another kid when our team is still crying out for consistent performers. Stop with the keyboard warrior thing, it's getting old and wearisome. You don't agree with me, no big deal move on if you got nothing to contribute instead of insults? And Anderson is a very good example of the risks associated with spending large sums on potential - things can go wrong between now and the time he is expected to step up, injuries, loss of form, mentality (as we have seen with Januzaj) etc. That same amount could be used to bring in a more experienced player who has proven it at an acceptable level. What the hell. What keyboard warrior? It boggles the mind that ppl are against the signing of a high potential young lad after getting the likes of Shaw and Martial in. By all accounts if we went for a high profile player ppl would moan as well and bring up Di Maria as an example of why it is bad to sign established players. It's just idiotic. LvG has a very good record when it comes to young players so I'll trust him with that one if we go for him. Perreira and our other youngsters have feck all to do with this.Stop with the keyboard warrior thing, it's getting old and wearisome. Like that......Are people really complaining about spending big money on a teenager after Martial?
It's not like we've ever spent big money on a hyped up 18 year old from a big Portuguese team who failed to ... oh ... shit.
Just watch him play a few games then. Watched him against Atletico Madrid. He was the best player on the pitch.Different impression to this than the Martial vids. You could see something special in Martial, with this kid I see a brute regularly overrunning clumsy no close control dribbles and an inconsistent mess technically. Some stuff almost reminded me of Fellaini.
Im with you in this one. Not to say he won't be a success but there's not much in that to say he's got any more quality than the average midfield destroyer.Different impression to this than the Martial vids. Have you watched him play much? (genuine question)Im with you in this one. Not to say he won't be a success but there's not much in that to say he's got any more quality than the average midfield destroyer.

I haven't seen him play at all. Just first impressions was yootoobe.Have you watched him play much? (genuine question)
We also spent £25 million on a much hyped young player from PSV who hasn't exactly impressed so far. Spending big money on young players is a gamble so it's right to be cautious when doing so.Are people really complaining about spending big money on a teenager after Martial?

When I watched him he was far from a midfield destroyer. Yes he is very strong and aggressive but also technically brilliant and a real threat going forward. Is your opinion based on a youtube compilation?Im with you in this one. Fair enough. He's a good player imoI haven't seen him play at all. Just first impressions was yootoobe.
Well if we genuinely are interested in him then I hope so, just didn't seem anything particularly special from that video is all.Fair enough. He's a good player imo
I'd pay to see him break Costa and leave him crying on the pitch in a puddle of his own piss. That said any central midfielder who is willing (or allowed) to break forwards
