Van Gaal's behaviour seems strange for someone who knew the writing was on the wall. I always assumed he knew what was coming. But you'd have thought he'd go quietly, even if he was pissed off about the timing, rather than giving every impression he wants to stay and will kick up a fuss.
His ego is such that he can't accept he failed.

That would be a disgusting sight, indeed :( Don't worry though, Terry's a born rent boy ;)
He signed the chelsea extension. Terry and mou arent as close as they used to be in his first stint. There is no way mou would have signed terry even if he was free agent.

I hope as a club we stop trying to qualify for Champions League, and start competing for it once more.

Also I hope we give the Europa a good run, play the kids and do some squad rotation.

I think the way the media are reporting this is an absolute fecking disgrace. If you didnt know United won the FA cup yesterday and looked on the internet you wouldnt know, you'd think Mourinho was already appointed. fecking clickbait bollox. Absolutely horrendous from the club heirarchy to fuel this speculation right after we win the FA cup. Completely disrespectful to LvG and to the players that have just won the cup.

Sorry about the rant.

Exactly. We could have sacked him after the West Ham game (or about 50 times prior to that!).

Allowing him to go out on top (well kind of :nervous:) after an FA Cup win is classy by the club and is more than I would have given him had I been in charge.

Dont worry Im over it. Thats why I came on here to vent it. You have to agree its pretty tasteless. Someone wins the cup and their barely off the stage after lifting it and all the sports stories are about the next man in. Shows what scum a lot of sports journalists are imo.

But why care about how it's been reported? It was a great end to the game and I'm still happy now regardless of Mourinho getting the headlines. It's hardly made the win less enjoyable!! All it's done is made me more ready for next season and hopefully the players too.

Next season is going to be the biggest in a long time and most importantly England need it. Congratulations to Leicester City... But the top 4/5 need to get there act in place.

Tuesday, if you believe reports.
Little bit of research:

202.05 Timely Disclosure of Material News Developments
A listed company is expected to release quickly to the public any news or information which might reasonably be expected to materially affect the market for its securities. This is one of the most important and fundamental purposes of the listing agreement which the company enters into with the Exchange.

A listed company should also act promptly to dispel unfounded rumors which result in unusual market activity or price variations.

Doesn't give a time frame but I don't think Tuesday would be deemed "quickly".

If this is Mourinho 's side leaking this information then it's just so typical of the classless git.
It's really mean spirited to try one up the manager you are replacing the moment he wins a trophy by announcing you will be taking over. And it was almost literally a minute after. Shows the Portuguese lizard mentality at its worst. They do have their good side as well, but I'm basically talking Madeira.

If it has been leaked from Mendes, I could see us turning round and saying feck off.

Might play into Ryan's hands this.

This could be absolutely nothing to do with Mourinho himself, we don't know where the BBC got their info from

Tarnished for who exactly? It's Tarnished your enjoyment? Or you just being outraged on behalf of 'others'?

Seriously now we've had these reports for months the fact that the media decided to report it as more a matter a fact now is nothing to get upset over.

Mourinho would not have been first my choice. However, I'm just glad LvG has gone.
Who would have been? I hear this from many posters, but without mentioning who would have been their first choice.

Every top manager has already a job in a top club.

True. After this there should be a "Louis' Law", forcing journalists to reveal all their sources where football stories are concerned.

The front page of BBC Football is a disgrace, first three links

"Where did it all go wrong for Van Gaal"
"Mourinho to be appointed United manager"
"FA Cup Highlights" (no mention or image of winner)

Sky Sports is even worse, not one mention of United winning on the front page, just "talking points" (wonder what they are... Probably Clattenburg's shite decisions in the first half)

This is the first trophy we've won since Fergie and you'd have no idea.

I'm pissed off for Van Gaal and I'm pissed off for the players.

If you'd like to remind myself we actually achieved something yesterday there's some decent vids and pics of players celebrating on the United Twitter, had a quick scroll through meself last night.

If it's true Mourinho's people leaked this after the game that's a bad start, and would piss me off if I was Woodward or one of the United team.

However I think it's more likely the press have sat on this info and waited to report it at the most damaging possible time.

That's because United board should have approached Pep, or Ancelotti earlier than City or Bayern.

One of the biggest managers in the world goes to one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's going to be headlines no matter what. FA Cup, Polish cup, CdR, DFB Pokal, Coppa Italia or Coupe de France don't get as much recognition as winning the league or CL. Mou to United pretty much is that tier of news. It's big for us, but frankly, not many people outside give a feck.

Nobody will say 'I want to join United because they won FA cup', whereas you'll have (and you had) people joining club X because they won CL or the league.

He hates them with equal passion. When jose was porto manager, liverpool approached him about the job, but then gave it to Rafa benitez. He since has no regard for them. I have to say, before yesterday, his was the most important contribution to united since fergie retired by not allowing liverpool to win the league. I will love it when he slides down anfield touchline after we score an offside goal in the 95th minute to win the league and celebrate infront of the kop.
My thoughts exactly.

Do not see why anyone would prefer Ancelotti to Mourinho. Bar being a nicer guy, he is inferior as manager.

Pep probably yes, but lets see how he does at a team that isn't twice as good as their rivals. I always rated him high, but this is a quite uncommon scenario for him. Mourinho is a far safer appointment, and both usually stay around the same amount of time at a club, so both are short term appointments.

United, and Sir Alex relegated the importance of the FA Cup.

"Can Manchester United score? They always score"
Some journos on twitter saying its from Mendes. Its not an issue of morality. Its an issue of respect. Just log on soxial media. 8 out of ten posts are about Mourinho. It shouldn't be like that on the day we wkn our dirst trophy in three year
Did you react the same when news of us meeting Van Gaal was released? That too by the Dutch telegraph who are very close to him.

That was at the time when we had a man with 5 years running in his contract as our manager. Was that respectful on their last?

Treating the two situations differently is just being hypocritical imo. And for some,it's driven by their hate for Jose.

I'm not sure why the club is being blamed. The press will do their job regardless of facts.
