Have you read the story? Cantona is probably right in his assessment.

Back to the thread! Best wishes to Jose Mourinho for a very successful career at Manchester United.
He is wrong, really wrong.

And there in lies the issue with the modern day football supporter... Sorry fan.

He's a manager, a fecking great one at that. If he gets us winning who gives a toss, absolute state of some peoples 'worries'
I would actually say that makes him the opposite of a modern day fan

I also have similar feelings to @Twigginater but have long since accepted the fact that he would be taking over so I'm over it now

Never liked Jose and actually didn't want him to come here. But since he is here- willing to give him a blank slate and judge again.
Exactly my feelings. On the one hand, I think this is exactly the type of situation he's been at Chelsea, Inter and Real meaning that he is in charge of overcoming the odds and playing the underdog tag (Chelsea to us in terms of status, Inter to the rest of the traditional European powers and Real to the dominant Barcelona). This makes me think he won't change his ways and continue his methods that are all about pragmatism and taking the shortest way for instant results. On the other hand, I think maybe just maybe this is unique to him since this is the first clubs he will have worked at where he will enjoy as much autonomy over first team matters which might mean we will see a different footballing approach. I really do hope it is the latter because if it is the former, it will be a very disappointing Manchester United. But until then, we get behind the man in charge of course.

My thoughts as well!
If they do it before the charity game, maybe it will be razzmatazz in front of hordes of fans like the Madrid unveiling of Ronaldo.

Wonder how many fans would turn up? I would if I lived close by, watching press conference live from centre of old Trafford!!!

So Sky Sports were wrong again. All agreed but the contract hasn't been signed yet according to the BBC

Red Cafe are a fickle bunch aren't they. All through the end of 14/15 they were going on about how average Jose was, how Pep was so much better and I used to argue against, and how our 04/05 team was great fun to watch. Most of them weren't having any of it.

Now suddenly hes going to join them and his parking the bus is overstated, and everything they used to say was just a myth.

Is there a club that shoots itself in the foot more than ours?

Hopefully his training methods will cut down on the injuries, Chelsea seemed to have very few. Also the players will not have incessant meetings to pour over games, so will not be as mentally tired. I think Jose's tactics will be far more straightforward. He will hopefully lift the confidence of them as well, as quite a few need it after the bashing they got of LvG.

I saw someone post about how he has an ego. Imagine that, we're going for a manager with an ego. Instead of nice bloke Moyes.
LOLLL, yea imagine that, one manager saying we got to make it difficult for newcastle, the other said our expectations are too high. Our decades of dominance had so many ego's in the dressing room, the man on top of that pyramid sir alex was the king of channeling those ego's. Cantona, Ronaldo, yea they had no ego's, lol. The reality is? winning builds an ego, we have lacked that aggresion. Mourinho will either bring an identity, and get these players going, or? we could have a time bomb, lets hope we get the former, and not the latter. The worry is? If mourinho can't get this right, who the hell can? so this maybe the biggest few years in the club's history

I'm not expecting a big song and dance unveiling of Mourinho. I think he has a point to prove and is going to take this job very seriously.

He is right about a few

But we have always had staunch Jose fanboys on red cafe who are right now bathing in their own cum
Or I don't know.. Fans who think it's a good apoitment and are not his fans who are 'bathing in their own cum'?

Redcafe is Borg. Everything things the same. And as soon as one changes an opinion everybody does it.
