I hope it doesn't have a long term effect on his throw-ins!
How long is that likely to keep him out?Tweet

It only becomes an official crisis when Carrick has to put in his annual shift at CB!Our annual injury crisis is drawing closer
Oops wrong tweet. SozHow long is that likely to keep him out?
Hope the rumor is wrong seeing this update http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/watch-antonio-valencia-lift-weights-9207290Rumoured to be out for 6 weeks. Season goes from bad to worse.
The shoulder pad isn't really a relevant issue. If you squat properly there shouldn't be much weight going through your arms anyway and he's got virtually nothing on the bar anyway.TBF he's doing squats with a shoulder pad, so no real strain is on his arm there. Still though shows how dedicated he is, I like that.
Obviously not, but if it's a bar with no support then your arms are still having to hold it tight, at least with that shoulder pad he can keep it steady without much arm support. The shoulder pad isn't really a relevant issue. Saying that I've never seen anyone do an exercise like that before they look like really aggressive quarter reps. Is there a reason he's doing that @Zarlak?
They're called squat lockouts. People use them to improve their overall squat, as it gets the body used to feeling really heavy loads on your back without you having to actually go all the way down with a weight you can't handle. The idea is that you do this as well as your normal squats and not instead of, and along with full squats with lower weight they help a little with how much you end up squatting overall. Kind of like how you can get someone to use forced negatives on the pull up as a way to get their body ready for regular pull ups faster. That doesn't really make sense here because he has next to no weight on the bar. It could also be used when coming back from injury with lighter loads to start getting your body used to the feeling of having the weight on your back again before you progress to full squats for the first time and bust a previously injured knee or something. They're not really useful for anything outside of that. The shoulder pad isn't really a relevant issue. So potentially it could be something they're doing to try and keep his body ticking over as much as possible, amongst others, whilst he's injured so he comes back in as best shape as he can and doesn't lose too much time? They're called squat lockouts. Possibly, to be honest I've never done them so can't really attest to how effective they are. This could also equally be something his trainer read in a magazine that isn't applicable to him at all but he thought it sounded like a good idea.So potentially it could be something they're doing to try and keep his body ticking over as much as possible, amongst others, whilst he's injured so he comes back in as best shape as he can and doesn't lose too much time?
You'd hope that the club would employ a better calibre of trainers than that, but that really wouldn't surprise me.Possibly, to be honest I've never done them so can't really attest to how effective they are. Wouldn’t trust Luckhurst, think his sources said Rashford would be out of a match (Swansea?) while he wasn’t. Happy to be wrong though, would be a great boost to have him playing tomorrow.Tweet

3 weeks on from a broken arm and he might be set to return... He's turning into one of my favourite players, and I never thought I'd say that.Tweet

Well he's either giving thumbs up with a broken arm or carrying a bag with a broken arm, good sign either way.
The injuries are a front. He sheds his skin and emerges twice as powerful.Nobody recovers from injury quite like Tony Vroom.
Oh I'm sure he's there if he was seen, still not sure he's available for selection.

Antono Valencia.
No injuries can stop Tony V to play. I mean he is even willing to play with just one eye.
I'd love for him to be the captain. Many times we're playing bad he's the only one forcing players to rise up and go forward and not to mention he always gives 100% when on the pitch. I swear if it wasn't for his bad English he would be the perfect captain. What an absolute stud this man is
