Again, Stones bashing will keep going(i dont disagree that he is playing poorly) and nobody will mention Otamendi the clown who is much worse....
This is a Stones thread. Otamendi is probably getting bashed somewhere else. Heck he's being called out in the match thread, not that people didn't already know he's poor.

Stones is one thing Otamendi is another level awful. He plays like a pitbull just running and jumping at things and constantly makes mistakes. In that second goal he just lets costa roll him by running around him for no reason. I'd have stones over him.

What's this ball-playing ability he has? I don't see it. He isn't launching forwards like Pique, Alderweireld, Blind, Bonucci or David Luiz do.

Thats exactly my point, Stones has the whole thread about how shit he is while Otamendi maybe gets mentioned by one or two people in league thread.

Nah they're both awful. It's just this game Otamendi has outdone Stones but they take turns game by game to see who is worse.

Stones has just as bad and worse defending mistakes than the one Otamendi made for the second goal.

Maybe it's because he's the one usually overrated and overhyped.

Not to mention the media keep building up these excuses game after game despite evidence showing he's a terrible defender and an overrated player on the ball.

I think stones can be turned into a decent defender with very minimal tweaks, just literally telling him to hoof it when in danger, job done, hes lost his biggest flaw. Otamendi I don't know what you could do, he's too aggressive, goes to the floor too easy, poor positioning, too short for a cb, and is the opposite of a calming presence with his frenetic nature.

By who exactly? Price tag? One costed 50m and is yet to start shaving so there is plenty of time for him to develop while other costed 30m, should be at peak of his powers and is playing even worse.
Fans? There is a whole thread for Stones where people criticize his every move why nobody criticizes Otamendi even though he is much worse. Im not on other forums but i assume there is the same situation like here.

This is literally his performance thread, there are plenty of English players outside of United who have one.

He's thick. I've said it before and I'll repeat it. It's not just about his questionable (to say the least) defending ability, it's just that he's simply stupid which is reflected in idiotic decisions that he makes.

Bobby 'El Fraudo' Martinez is long gone from coaching him and he still looks like a con artist indeed.

He's absolutely shite and a fraud. Got a lot of greenies from the resident hippies when I said Jones was better but it's baffling anyone would think otherwise. One is a proven defender who's good on the ball but has struggled with injuries. The other is a dreadful defender and seems to be under the impression he's Lionel fecking Messi on the ball. I'm beginning to think even Rojo is an improvement.

Everyone labelled Luiz a clown & he's helped transform Chelsea this season. Still think he has immense potential.

Truth. I prefer pure defenders with limited ball skills over defenders dribbling and trying to play one-twos in your own half. I'd take Smalling all day long over Stones.

Potential? Isn't he close to 30 at this stage?

He's doing well lately but I think the system definitely helps him. From what I've seen he seems to always be the free defender which I think takes away a weakness of his which was tracking his man. Smart from Conte, imo.

Luiz gifted Aguero a simple chance by being 10 yards out of position. Don't give Luiz credit for Conte's work.

Think he was talking about Stones improving with age and better coaching.

He's bought into guardiolas BS so much, he genuinely doesn't think he needs to defend anymore. Passing is paramount.

People thought he would take him to the next level but so far he's going backward

Mangala and Stones. City should be investigated for money laundering.

The money City have spent at centre half is frightening, yet there remains no improvement. They're arguably worse.
