I dont like the saying a club isnt as good as the table makes out. 13 wins in a row is utterly phenomenal, i dont care who it is. And if theyre not as good as table says, then we are utter shite and so are city and arsenal etc

Maths.

LOL
they are 10 points in front of United as things stand, will be 7 points front if we beat Chelsea Provided that same point difference continues til our match with chelsea :)

So it turns out your "Maths" is not entirely correct Sir !

Should Chelsea lose this game we are definitely back in the title hunt. 10 points to make up over 18 games isn't that much.

I want to aim for the title, Chelsea can be caught. So I don't even mind Spurs winning this one bit. Spurs will slip up somewhere else. That, and I don't want Chelsea to get the record of 15 straight wins.
Exactly this. I'm convinced we will finish above Spurs and I'm fed up of Chelsea winning. If they lose here they are 10 points ahead with us still to play so it's not crazy to think we could catch them.

And in 6 games, 4 have been reeled in while playing one of them at home in the next game.....your point?
I think that's pretty obvious isn't it? Winning the title is pretty fecking unlikely. I'm not ruling it out but I think we left us too much to do and have to rely too much on others to slip up. So Spurs winning this... I don't see much positive with that.

Wanted a draw originally, now feel a Spurs win could open this race back up for us. If we get through Liverpool, we should be looking at keeping our winning run going further.

I said before I prefered a Spurs win and I still do. Chelsea are not that much better than the top 6. The closer the teams are in points, the easier to get in the mix it will be for us and even retain a shot at the title.

Anyone else feel like Sky haven't covered the congested period very well? Surely tonight was a great chance to roll out the Neville & Carragher 11 o'clock finish job. Could have analysed the crazy amount of football that has taken place over the last week.

Alli sure knows where the back of the net is. Good movement, calm finish.

You know there are 5 teams above us that need to feck up?
Before the season started there were ten teams above us so 5 at the halfway point sounds about right. Espeically as we're coming into proper form.

Forget about sides like Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool. Enjoy when decent sides like Chelsea drop points and worry about our own performance and results. If we finish the season playing as we have been recently we'll be right in the mix.

All this talk of us winning the league is ridiculous right now. At this stage the chances of us winning the league are extremely slim and Chelsea dropping points will only increase the chances of Liverpool winning it.

We need Chelsea to have a monumental breakdown and us to outpoint 4 other teams who are ahead of us and looking a bit more assured right now. The chances of 5 teams rolling over and letting us take it is too slim to even worry about right now. This is a great result for Liverpool if it stays like this. They finally slip up but still make ground on Chelsea.

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!

FFS there is ONE team above us to be worried about! CHELSEA! All the other teams are within 5 points with 54 points to play for! Therefore if the other teams narrow Chelsea's lead down it's good for us and makes everything possible. There is very little, almost no, chance that we can claw back Chelsea's lead all on our own … but 5 points over Tottenham over half a season … really?????

Why would everyone want Spurs to lose? This blows the title race right open and a win against Liverpool and we're back in the race.

Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
City - 3 points
Spurs - 3 points
Arsenal - 2 points
Liverpool - 2 points if we beat them next game.

The gap to all of them is really small. We keep playing like we have for the past couple of months I would expect us to finish above most of them
yes. It is not unrealistic to be second. my one concern today is this result at Spurs as is gives the scousers hope.

It's annoying as players and fans but completely understandable. Wasn't it the Hull game when one of our supporters got seriously injured during the celebrations?
Yeah, a guy in front of got carted away at West Brom a couple of weeks as well.

The thing is, Chelsea will drop probably 10 points during now and the end of the season, the thing is United will drop an equal amount of points. It's not realistic but not impossible.

Look at the past with teams like Blackburn.

Despite winning 13 straight games and having the joint best defensive record? They go 1-0 down at half-time and suddenly they're no better than top six?

Goal might have been good for us getting a better 2nd half. That was a pretty average watch.

For those that think this would be a good result for us, our odds to make top 4 just increased. The odds of Liverpool winning the league decreased

We can move to within 2 points of Liverpool next week. Then we'll be in the hunt just as much as they are.

They could do, but even if they drop 10 points more than us, what are the chances that it'll be us that capitalised and win the league? There's 4 other teams ahead of us.

Liverpool host Chelsea and Spurs go to City soon, so let's just take care of our business. The more we win, the more nervous the others will get.

Same happened in one of LvG's seasons when we went on a bit of a run. It was obvious we wouldn't win it then and it's obvious we won't now either. You have to admire their optimism though.
