This is all building up nicely to a brutal comedown. All the signs are there

the bitter whopper quilt is fecking obsessed, :nervous:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/feb/16/jurgen-klopp-liverpool-efl-cup-chelsea

“In December we missed players and did not have the best schedule. From 31 December [a 1-0 win over Manchester City] to 2 January [a 2-2 draw at Sunderland] you could see the difference physically. Oh, my God – what have we done? It was not that we had all the players to change it at Sunderland. It was a few things. On a few things we had an influence and on others we did not have an influence – we conceded goals, offside against us, penalty against us.

“We could have had two, three or four points more. With two points more instead of an offside goal for Man United, and I don’t want to make a story of it,

Bloody hell, he's like an obsessed ex-girlfriend who brings you up in every conversation but acts like she's over you. I reckon he wanted the job with us and is bitter that he didn't get it.

The Nudist just wont let it go will he? If United had been awarded just a couple of the ridiculous decisions this season then we would be well in front of them!

He is becoming a parody of himself its so cringe-inducing. Fair enough making the point after the game, but its over a month or so now dear god.

So his excuse for the shite form they were in is "we had to play too many games"?

That's not a good sign for Liverpool then is it? So next season does Klopp make sure they get knocked out of every cup they are in as soon as possible? Playing a lot of games is a sign of a successful season, a sign of being a big team because you're going far in the cups. Expect Liverpool to be terrible again next Xmas then.

What a fecking bitter idiot too about the offside goal. It was a month ago for Christ sake and this must be the 3rd or 4th time he's mentioned it in completely unrelated incidents. Like almost all Liverpool managers he's become obsessed with Utd.

Why's he even doing an interview? Liverpool don't play a game for another few months do they?

If they let the top 4 slip you can be sure he'll blame that famous offside United goal.
He's fast becoming a clown.

It was a clear penalty but Lallana was almost 2 yards offside in the bit of play that won them the corner from which the pen was awarded.
Trying to header the ball with your eyes closed doesn't qualify as a deliberate handling of the ball for me.

It was unbelievably stupid from Pogba, but no chance as he made an deliberate motion to handle the ball.

3 games if Burnley beat their lower league opposition in the cup.

If Millwall-Leicester ends in a draw then Leicester-Liverpool scheduled for MNF would also have to be postponed because the replay would take place in that midweek.

A scenario where they play 2 games in 50 days is very much likely. That's basically 2 games in almost 20 % of the whole season. To even think some of the scousers in this thread were celebrating getting knocked out of the cups because it meant more rest.
Hopefully they get rusty during this break and lose match sharpness, how boring is that going to be for fans...

I really really really hope they miss out on Top 4 by 2 points just to watch the meltdown, would be absolutely majestic

The "intentional handball" rule doesn't work like that. Referees are supposed to give a penalty if the hand is in an unnatural position (which was the case) or if it was in a natural position but the player had enough time to pull away his arm.

Where has that come from anyway? He hasn't got a pre game interview as he led his side to be knocked out of the FA Cup.

I know what you mean but if your hands are above your head when the ball hits them then that's a penalty every time. Intent is hard to interpret by a referee so they have to make a decision based on stuff like the position of the arms. You just can't compete for a header with your arms waving around above your head.

What was it 6 weeks ago United played Liverpool at Old Trafford? Time to build a bridge, move on, get over it and worry about getting Liverpool back into the top four. Yes, Klopp has a case about Valencia being offside in the build up but maybe his defenders could have done a better job of stopping a goal after the offside wasn't called.
