Awful today. But again, when he doesn't score, there's no one else who can do it.
We're way to reliant on him. We would be fecked if he left.
He is the lone striker in the team. It's obvious he is going to be getting the most chances.

He's been a brilliant signing but we've been guilty of relying on him way too much. When he has an off day we lack options, or rather Jose doesn't appear to trust anyone else.

This is what I fear he might look like more often next season. I got this very selfish view with Zlatan that he must try to leave us at the top. I don't want to watch that version of him with us ,more for his sake really.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Best thing he's done today was elbowing Mings really. Shite performance.
The most impact he had by far, because it ended up getting an opposition player sent off. Then again we looked worse in the second than in the first, so maybe it would have been better if he got sent off instead.

Very poor performance, he single handedly lost the points today along with his sidekick Jones.

We're too reliant on him. If he doesn't perform we struggle.
Spot on. Zlatan is a fantastic player when he has a good game but like we have seen this season he isn't consistent enough to be our only goal scorer. We desperately need another goal scorer who can step up when Zlatan has his off days.

Yeah that was the most baffling thing really, how inept we were in the second half compared to the first half.

It's so predictable.
Awful today.

But the knee jerk here is fun esp All 3 United who's the worst of the lot.
Really. So you don't think he's the main issue as to why we're not winning games when we're totally dominant and he has at least 3 or 4 good chances and at least 1 sitter.

I wonder how many goals he would have scored under LVG last season....

I won't be camping outside his house...

We all love United
Did Jose ever subbed him off at Inter? Because i don't see why he shouldn't do that after today

Was more interested getting into fights than scoring a goal to shut the Bournemouth players up

No. Not even close. He's won us plenty of points this season scoring 26 goals. You bring up the chances he missed at least two times here in 30 minutes.

But hey, you also want Rooney to play over him so keep it going.

Uncomfortable reality for me, is that while he has scored his 25/26 goals, he should have had nearer 40,
Misses a lot of good chances.

Stoke was the worst game I saw, but today, missing a pen has to come up there. I feared he'd miss it today, when normally you don't.

He let the team down today. The biggest disappointment was him concentrating on elbowing his opponent when he had a great chance to score with a header at a crucial stage of the game.

That's 13 points in total (and this from missing actual sitters).
Sam Allardyce maths.

Assumes that he didn't win us any points on the other hands and another striker would've scored all the goals Zlatan did score and on top of that the ones he missed.

Maybe if you watched more football rather than play FIFA you would know that strikers in real life actually miss chances.

6.3 before today was about right.

Good but not really special. And today was absolutely terrible.

No other team in England creates so many chances for their main striker, yet United's main striker has scored only 1 more than Sunderland's in the league. The goals against micky mouse teams in the cups distort the picture.

Still, IF United get a CL place (trough the league or the EL), his signing would be completely justified.

Our best player this season, but he cost us the game today. He was on the edge from the start, didn't seem in the right mood. Knew he would miss the penalty too

40 in less than 40 games? Have Messi and Ronaldo completely skewed people's perception? Or is it the video games?

That terrible first touch from Rooney's square pass, messing up a simple tap-in from 2 yards away, and then not scoring the penalty.

He just had an awful day and I always get the feeling, especially in the easy games at home like this, that he tries to be too clever for his own good.
Exactly this. And you see how this attitude permeates through to Pogba.

Being arrogant without actually having done their jobs.

I'm utterly amazed at Zlatan's lack of composure in that battle against Mings today. It seemed to have completely destroyed him mentallly!

Ronaldo deals with that kind of thing every week and still performs.. How fecking incredibley disappointing!

You didn't say you want Rooney over him based on today. You said it a few weeks ago that you prefer Rooney to start over him. And you complain about missed chances. Welcome to Wayne's world then and expect less goals too.

I was here after the league cup and said he had a great game but when it's blatantly obvious why we're dropping so many points at home against dross, after dominating game after game, you're damn right I'm going to be here pointing out the obvious....

Not to mention that he will get a retro ban for the next three games.
Might be a blessing in disguise tbf. Not buying into this bollocks about him being our saviour, if he'd taken half the chances he's been handed on a plate this season he'd have like 40 goals.

Hopefully we see Rashford through the middle.

The reason we didn't win. Complete blame on him.

Forget the penalty which was very obviously going to be missed, how can you attack the ball with an open goal tap-in with your hip?

How slow does your brain have to work to not score that chance?

So where would we have been without his goals? He has cost us points but still won us many more. The issue is no one else chipping in.

I tend to agree that Zlatan has cost us in too many league games this season but I don't have much faith in the alternatives to lead the line. It will be interesting anyway to see if we do create as much without him and if the conversion rate increases.

He is a striker. He can easily go through next half without having to commit fouls and by now he probably realizes how lucky he is to stay on. Taking him off will be a stupid decision given his this season's record in terms of both goals scored and cards accumulated. Your argument is as good as you first comment. Stop worrying and let professionals do their jobs.
Well he stayed on and it completely nullified his game. He did well to stay out of any confrontation but it rendered him utterly redundant in the second half.
