Really should've won us the game today. Pen aside, he fecked up a great chance in the first half.

As shit as he was today, we're going to miss him when Fellaini is brought on in the last 10 minutes to play up front after Rashford and Martial huff and puff to no avail.

I tend to agree that Zlatan has cost us in too many league games this season but I don't have much faith in the alternatives to lead the line. It will be interesting anyway to see if we do create as much without him and if the conversion rate increases.
Something needs to change, this just isn't working. We are handed great opportunities to overtake rivals and we just throw it away, it's not even funny anymore. Maybe some pace up front and a player like Rashford who can make runs in behind will change that, here's hoping.

Should have been one of the players to be subbed off. Worst game for us.

We'll find out how we do without him when they ban him for 3 games.

You didn't say you want Rooney over him based on today. You said it a few weeks ago that you prefer Rooney to start over him. And you complain about missed chances. Welcome to Wayne's world then and expect less goals too.
I am no rooney fan but he had more of a positive impact on the game today and when said I'd prefer Rooney, it was based on what I've seen Zlatan cost us this season. There is no question, Jose made the same mistake LVG made, thought rooney was still at the top of his game, hense we have been over reliant on Zlatan.
So where would we have been without his goals? He has cost us points but still won us many more. The issue is no one else chipping in.
The goals he's scoring I would expect any half decent forward to score. We witnessed that last season with Rashford when given a run up top. The chances he's missing again i would expect any half decent forward to score. We're creating so many chances but scoring so few goals. So where's the issue?

There were others who got chances today, such as Rooney, Martial and Pogba.
Rooney got a decent chance today?
Ibra got better much chances than Martial and Pogba( Also, it's not his job to finish) and was extremely complacent in finishing them off. Unprofessional.

So any half decent striker would be the leading scorer in England if he played for us?

Good if he gets the 3 game ban. Needs the rest and we HAVE to find another goal scorer. Good chance for us to see if any of the other guys have the ability to step up

2 great chances. One when Rooney put it on a platter and the miss when Martial put the cross.

Not defending Ibra, he was awful but he wasn't the only one.

Rooney's chance was the one he headed at the start of the game.

Sam Allardyce maths.

Assumes that he didn't win us any points on the other hands and another striker would've scored all the goals Zlatan did score and on top of that the ones he missed.

Maybe if you watched more football rather than play FIFA you would know that strikers in real life actually miss chances.
Seems that everytime you don't agree with someone's opinion you go and call them out to be nothing more than FIFA players that don't even watch football.

Why is that?

I hope it's just a one year contract for Zlatan.

He's had a fantastic season for us but I just can't get excited about his slow and wasteful play. It makes us much more easier to play against and is a big reason why we only win by a goal or two.

Imo we need a dynamic forward that can stretch teams. Balls to Ibra have to be pinpoint as he's not one to make something out of nothing at this stage of his career.

There is a reason why he has never won the CL and the teams went to win it the year he leaves. In one off games with a lot on the cards he tends to bottle it. Last year Man City games came to my mind as well.

Zlatan is not a clutch player and never was one in his career. His inflated numbers at PSG overrated his legacy because the french league will always be a tinpot league. PSG look a better team in Europe this season and the you can say that about pretty much all of the teams he ended up leaving. He cant lead the line next season. If the club want to reach the top again, he has to be benched next season.

Does anyone have his shot conversion rates at home and away matches? He seems to miss sitters for fun at home but looks super clinical when we don't play at OT.

So Zlatan didn't carried Manchester United today but seriously where was the rest of the players... are they disabled or their balls suddenly dropped off ?

Rooney would have been top scorer even if you ask All 3 United. He posted this from just a month ago.
Not sure why you're bumping this not like I'm denying it. Rooney has fallen off a cliff performance wise and he's been asked to play in about 5 different roles over the last 3 seasons. Given a proper run as a number 9, who knows he may find his feet again. Would I want this.... Hell no but that's where we are squad wise. Jose came in thinking Rooney was still world class. Sadly that's no longer the case and now Zlatan starts every game and never gets subbed.

Possibly, but he's not just a decent striker, he's much more than that. And then we would lose the other qualities that Zlatan brings, like playmaking.
Zlatans play making isn't exactly a strength, he tends to give possession away pretty often. As for Kane being a half decent forward, I bet he's on half of zlatans wages

I think it's very much worth pointing out when you have a go at Zlatan as wanting Rooney to play over him say quite a lot about you being unfair on Ibra imo. I'm probaby too much pro Ibra but I see you, Fracture, Top as opposite.
I think one thing is clear though and Jose must start to rotate more. Playing him six days after he was almost dead on the pitch is not a wise decision. Also will he have energy left? He will if he's banned but should not need a ban to get him rested.

You can squirm, throw a smoke curtain, change subject all you want mate, but it won't change the fact that in a span of a single week, we've got to see his best and his worst game for us.

How is it not a strength when he has created more chances than anyone else in the team? I don't know about wages but Kane is a top top player imo, would love to have him here.

There, was that so difficult? Next season he will be even older and his body will only continue to slow down, if he's to remain our main striker we're ought to get used to games such as this one.
