Blimey. He really can't do anything anymore.

It must be so confusing for him, a guy who's done amazing things concistently for so many years, to suddenly not be able to do even the basic things anymore.

We're gonna struggle to get rid of him.

Who would want him? Seriously no PL team would want him, I doubt he'd even cut it in the Championship.

What on earth is he taking a feee kick just inside our own half for? Seriously? Carrick has an infinitely better delivery and should be positioned around there anyway.

I have doubts he'd cut it in the Chinese league let alone the above. There will be a lot of motivated Chinese players looking to get the better of him.

I honestly don't know what standard he would have to drop to in order for us to be able to say "yeah he's definitely too good for this".

He hasn't got the technical ability for Italy, the engine or physical attributes for the Championship and without quality players around him there's no way he will impact games.

I'm glad to see those stats on the previous page to tell me he's been good. I'm delighted that it's been my eyes deceiving me this whole time. Stats to the rescue once again, phew.

And all the work he put in to writing those posts when he could've just used his eyes.:lol:

He can still be a decent player in a team/tactics built around him. He has always been one of those players that needs to play a lot to be able to perform at their best. He isn't suited for bench role.

... Goes without saying that any team willing to build around him wouldnt have aspirations to be a top club.

Was our best and most lively attacking player in the first half. Second half, everyone was pretty bad.

Time and time again, made some good runs, where you'd expect players like Mata and Mkhi to pick him out, but everything was either overhit or underhit.

What fans deserve that kind of punishment to see Rooney play himself into form a whole season?

Whoever the feck builds a team around this Rooney is a damned fool.

But out of interest, what tactics/team do you play to get Rooney back on track?

The bolded is probably because Rooney is physically shot and doesnt read the game that well. Rooney should go to a retirement league, because he still has some goalscoring instinct but he is physically done. He has less mobility and speed than Micheal Carrick who is 4 years older than him and has had 3 more years of playing time than him.

Rooney without his speed or strength is an average player if not worse.

Don't waste your time mate, I fear for his sanity when we actually get rid of Rooney.

Just one more game left for him now, because he isn't getting anyway near the EL final team, will be interesting to see his reaction if he's subbed off on Sunday.

Really is like playing with 10 men, many times he was the only option to pass to but the players didnt as they knew it was like giving it direct to the opposing team. Agree with many posters on here it is sad to see he now cannot do the basics, still plucks the odd ball out of the air and play a decent pass-Martial in first half, but anything like pressure a tight space or need to beat a man and forget it, as for his "tackling" oh dear......

Good first half, sad second :annoyed:. His shooting is.. off too much.

With all due respect to all of his contributions, at this rate, his only role left is to be a cover player - last choice striker and midfielder. He can still score goals and does have experiences but overall play is dreadful.

Hoping he would improve and produced that odd moments of super quality games (like Carrick and Young did in some games this season) but...

This is getting painful to watch now, for me it's worse than watching Gary Neville in his last couple of games for us. His reaction when he thought he was being substituted too, he would've been in no position to complain, he was easily our worst player tonight.

Someone needs to clip that first touch and reverse pass to play Martial in and lay Whitney Houston's 'One Moment in Time' track over the top. He looked absolutely paggered after 25 minutes.

Should we offer him a new contract Walters?
