No you are missing the point, I know of bernardo silva's shortcommings against bus parking defenses , but when you play against the likes of pep and klopp and bayern and barcelona you need a player who can hold the ball better under pressure and circulate it. Or you need a bale or ronaldo to make off the ball attacking runs and passing range to release the pressure and strech the high line which is pressing to win the ball back.

We all saw what happened when city played at old trafford in the first half, we are just helping them playing second fiddle inthe market.
He didn't hold onto the ball very well when City and Juve won the ball high up time and time again.

He dint even need a creative player yet sticking his nose here.

James does not suit us , at all. nither does sanchez and pogba can play together in a 4231.

And how did you come to this conclusion?

Forget about what you and I think for a minute and think about Jose Mourinho. James is exactly his kind of number 10 judging by things he has said about his ideal number 10 and judging by his past number 10 choices.

And if Jose wants a player, you can bet he will make that player very useful for the type of team he has in mind.

80m. Imagine if that was us signing a player with this price, media would have slaughtered us as usual for overpricing players and that the player is overrated.. etc just as they did to Pogba.

Very correct.

If only we can have the real Mikhi next season.

Many of the transfer talks here would be meaningless if Mikhi and Martial had shown us their real forms.

Or did we just witness their REAL forms???
I really hope they are better next season, but I don't think we can go one more season without having a proper attacking outlet on any wing.

Think Sanchez would have been good for us too. Pace, can hold the ball when pressed, can carry the ball. But that transfer is also done I think.

Will they get rid of any of their other attackers now? They have about 70 of them at the moment.

Some of the reactions are hilarious .

He didn't suit what we needed what so ever. It's annoying City are signing a true talented player but he just wasn't made for us.

Can't believe Monaco got that amount of money too
Aye, he's a great player absolutely but City have way bigger issues than their attack which is already really good.

To be honest it could be the case that both come into form at the same time.

Martial struggled with the typical young player second season (much like Rashford until lately)

Mhki struggles in his first season when moving.

If both of those players rediscovered their form of the previous season our team would be in awesome shape to go forward

Nolito for sure, Navas is gone Kelechi probably going too
Shame about Kelechi, I really rate him. Hope he goes to somewhere like Everton as a Lukaku replacement, can be a top striker in the future I think.

Lots of if's though. As a counter, if they don't come into form our season is fecked. Think we need to bring in another attacker along with Griezmann.

Jose is a big fan of Sanchez. The boy is Portuguese and Bayern might be happy to sell him. I really hope we steal him. I see him getting regular game time. If this happens, no one will miss Silva at all.

Sanchez would suit us to a tee. He won't be coming here though by the looks of things.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong it's not guaranteed at all. However, I don't think Jose will only buy Griezmann so I'm not too worried about our season being screwed yet.

I expect at least 1 of the 2 to have a good season. That plus the likelihood of us signing a striker would mean we have Martial, Rashford, Mhki, Mata, Griezmann, Lingard as options out wide. That's not a bad roster to be picking from really.

Excuse me? What reaction in the same way? Most on here are disappointed we didn't get him, and the rest are saying there may be more appropriate targets.

Maybe you're the one who should stop throwing their toys out
Yeah you're right. I'm throwing my toys out of the pram because I want to focus on our dealings and what we do.

Excuse me, please accept my apologies.

I really don't know if it would be wise to wait for them to gain form. We have really struggled against parked buses this year. Think we need to add one good winger at least. But, we could also get a good attacking fullback who is OK defensively. It is real tricky situation.

Some of you need to give it a rest. It's almost as if you were actually naive to think that top players come to play for Utd in the PL, or nothing. The way I see it is that there are 2 main reasons to be disappointed. There can be overlapping.

1. is that a rival is signing a potential top class player - In this case as I've said before it's inevitable. Like it or not City are a very attractive destination with a good team, Pep's gravity and plenty of £ to offer. Expect more, and even Chelsea to do the same. It isn't Pokemon and we can't sign them all for the sake of safeguarding them from other teams.

2. is that City are signing a player you wanted at Utd (and could be top class) - Well this is more tricky. The first thing to say is that even if we wanted him, we're not guaranteed to get him. Silva is a prospect, and not Messi so while it's fine to disappointed, some of the reactions are going way overboard. More importantly does the evidence suggest we actually wanted him? No. Mourinho appears to not be interested going by previous posts, but also Jose handed his list to Woodward 2 months ago. If Silva was on that list you can bet we will have approached Monaco by now. I.E. Silva will be aware we want to sign him at this moment, and if he's interested in playing for us then he wouldn't be having a medical for City.

I think City will be a signing a top player, and I'm disappointed. Likewise many people are just expressing their disappointment. However it's the few whingers making daft comments suggesting we'll be playing catch up to City for years and having a go at Woodward etc. that need to calm down. Jose and Ed aren't idiots, in fact they've proven to be very astute. Let's wait and see what they do before throwing our toys out of the pram. The point I'm trying to make is that if Silva is going to City, then it's because we don't want him/they want him more. It's not likely down to incompetence on our part.

Those two worry me a lot.

If Jose gets a really good alternative, I will be fine if he sells off Martial. Nothing against him but I think it's very risky hoping that TWO out of form players will get back to form next season. What if they both don't?

There was a time people feared for Pogba but look at the last few weeks. There was a time we feared for Rashford but look at how he came back. Martial and Mikhi almost made it an entire season of inconsistent performances. It would be terrible to keep both of them and find out next season that they are not exactly going to be hitting a different level.

Are we not rumoured to be after Griezmann? Is he not of a higher standard than every player city currently have?

Why aren't they blocking us by buying him then?
Getting griezmann alone will not make us anywhere near title contenders. He aint a winger. We need 2 of them atleast.

I'd go more the route of an attacking left back personally, however Mourinho has hardly ever gone with 2 attacking full backs so can't see that happening.

If the rumours of 4 are correct I suspect we'll see.

LB/CB (possibly a winger instead if Mourinho trusts our cbs)

People really need to relax!

Hes a good player with a lot of potential who has signed for a top Premier League sidr with a lot of money to spend. Thats what is supposed to happen.

There are plenty of players just as good with just as much potential out there. We've lost nothing, Just like city will have lost nothing if we sign Greizmann.

We move on to the next gossip thread!

Our wings are still shite though.
I get that but we rely on our fullbacks to provide the width, not the wingers. Whoever plays on the wing always tucks in when we have the ball.

Keep telling yourself that. You'll be annoyed when you see him play a few times for City.
Basically this. He's a phenomenal player. Griezmann is a far superior player though. Let's hope we can pip them to Mendy.

We don't need 2 wingers at all. What are we going to do with the one we just signed, the one we gave a 100k contract to, or the one that has massive potential?

Safe to say we've been terrible in this transfer window. City will walk the league and we won't make a signing until 31th of August.

Except in a jose philosophy in big games even the wingers are full backs against big teams , and when they lack work rate its even worse.

Whoever we are chasing, it looks like we started the chase about two months ago so if Sanchez is one of them, won't be surprised if it happens sooner than expected.
