It's not about Manchester. He's always spoken about wanting to finish his career at Roma. If and it's a big if, he's being forced to leave to cash in on him, it wouldn't be a great idea to buy him. Last thing we want is someone who's bought to fill such a critical role being half arsed.
If I remember it correctly, he said similar things before he signed for Roma. Could just be that he values loyalty.

Well, if a club wants a player out, he goes especially when his salary would get a huge hike. There's no win I'm staying. Take Thiago Silva and Ibra for instance, went because Milan wanted the cash. In any case, I don't really care about his love for Roma as long as he leaves it behind when/if he moves and gives his 100%. It's when the player has his mind elsewhere that it becomes a problem.

My feelings are the same for Morata as well.
I get your point but tend to agree more re: Morata. He is looking for regular football but I doubt his heart would be here.

60-70M quid???? I would have thought tops 40 or so given his age.

Also, we lacked goals last season, we still need forwards and a 9 in particular.
Yes, but players are not coming cheap anymore. He is real quality and will definitely improve us. Our midfield will be solid for a minimum of 3 years if we get him. In an ideal world what you said would have made sense. But all prices are inflated nowadays.

We will definitely be overpaying for any player we try to purchase this year and I would rather we overpaid for a proven player in Nainggolan that other overpriced players.

He's the closest thing to Vidal and has a great shot in him. Sign in up!

Yeah but theres a gaggle of spaniards (or is that geese?) here already and they dont seem to struggle settling here. I dont see that one being a di maria-esque nightmare.

Still very steep, surely must be 40-50 rather than 60-70. Age and lifestyle could catch up with him very quickly. I don't think you can just slap 30M on every player under the sun and put it down to inflation.

Yeah, my hope is Captain Herrera would have a word and show him the error of his ways.

If he didn't want to come he wouldn't. He isn't a fecking slave. All he is saying is he would have stayed if the club wanted him to, which is fair enough, particularly when it seems inconsistent with him vowing his undying love before.

You could say the exact same thing about Morata really.
Which people are, tbf. A fair few are bunged up on this whole 'loyalty, I really want to play for this club!' vibe. I mean sure, it's great when they do happen - Herrera... but for the most part the modern game really is just a job and players will go and do their job for their pay irrespective of how thrilled they are to be there.

He can certainly pass off as an intimidating mafia member, never mind being a good footballer. Imagine him in the middle of our team

He sounds like someone who just watched La La Land. Its a movie Antoine should of watched before he decided to stay at Atlectico. He seems like a guy who's got the internal struggle of being loyal, staying steady, and comfortable and a guy considering the bigger challenges, taking a huge risk, and looking for his own personal interests (trophies, glory, cash). I hope he takes the leap of faith, he's going to regret it if he doesn't.

I wish to believe that but why would the reporter ask Nainggolan about a possible move to United in the video clip few pages back? Was there ever any hint or him being linked to us or something?

He is feckin class. If hope to feck we are in for him. He's Vidal on steroids. Him + top quality striker and winger and we are looking at at a different team

I also hope it is in the 40-50 range. But if there is a lot of interest from others then we may have to up our offer a bit. Seeing that there are so many clubs sniffing around, I fear we it will still be well over 60. Just want us to go all out for him if he is available. If he has set his mind on a particular club then all this is, of course, out of question.

We have already been let down by one brother (Theo :D) so lets not be fooled by this. If it happens it would be brilliant but I'm not going to raise my hopes based on a random Reddit post!

It should be this guy AND Fabinho. Naingo is immense but he's no DM. Also playing Herrera as a DM just further complicates things. Herrera, Pogba and Naingo should compete for the two advanced midfield positions, with Fabinho sat behind them.

That being said, I don't see this happening, what a signing it'd be if it did though.

He rejected Chelsea last season and was loyal. He wants a payrise and better contract now, he doesnt want to leave. Only if Roma feck it up he will look for a move, but i dont think it will happen, they are not that stupid

He's 29, maybe he's thinking now is the time to get that last big pay-day? Shudder to think how much he'd cost though, fookin ell.

Would love him at United. Definitely the type of player Mourinho should be looking at.

That can come with time though. Mourinho has a tendency to cultivate a relentless passion in players, and there are plenty of cases where foreign players have arrived here and fallen in love with our fans, especially when they come from countries where their fans boo them after one mistake. Of course I'd prefer to sign players that are desperate to come here, but I do believe United is the kind of club players can grow to love.

He'd be a good buy to partner with Pogba and Herrera if we don't go for Fabinho, I'd definitely prefer we bought him than James.

So we're thinking he would be in a 3 with pogba and herrera, herrera sitting deepest?

If that is the case then great.

A summer of

Morata
Nainggolan
Fabinho
CB

Would be a brilliant summer for me.
