Why doesn't Pujara get a chance in Odis or is he just a test player?

What an incredible performance. Sensational bowling after a terrific batting display. All of them were great.

The way we've responded after the first game has been tremendous & credit to the team & coaching staff. To dominate England & India like we have has been unexpected & superb. Love it!!

There's some very good youngsters in this side. Hopefully they continue to get better & more consistent.
Congrats. @2mufc0 @MJJ

This might seem blasphemous to say, but I enjoy Pakistan winning when they aren't playing India. Just because of all the other problems the country faces. Mercurial(cliche, but true) and wonderful to watch. I would've wanted them to win if they were playing some other team.

Don't think in the last 8-10 years there has been an ICC tournament where I have been less confident about the Indian team, unless something crazy happens we have no chance
Banter aside this was the 4th post in this thread, we are just not a good team anymore

YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
Agree with the conclusion but not the reasoning. I don't think this match was evidence of that. Middle order or not, after losing 3 wickets like that we weren't going to win.

Would be nice to see Pandey, Rahul(the next world class batsman from India imo, altho not sure where he fits) get into the regular 11. Problem is replacing Dhoni.. not sure there's anyone knocking the door down.

I would also like to see wrist spinners tried. They're important in this format of the game the way pitches are right now. Jadeja and Ashwin were simply not good enough all tournament.
Narine has an Indian name, we should give him an Indian passport and be done with it.

Congrats to Pakistan...no doubt who played better today.

Not a bad trophy to win.

I'm sure India will be disappointed, but CT final, not a WC....so, not quite the end of the world

And what about Raina? Why is he not playing ? Surely better than Yuvraj?

I always do this. West Indies and Pakistan are just too damn good to watch when they are winning

Yup. I am glad this happened here. Our selectors have generally been quite good at identifying talent and giving them opportunities. Can prepare well for the next one. Clear areas of focus.

Maybe not, but I don't think three down early doors is quite the death sentence it used to be. At the very least you can try and take the game deep and see what happens.

I rate Rahul too. Youve got to find a spot for him in the side. Even if that mesns getting him to open with Rohit. Would be harsh to drop Dhawan whose had another very good ICC tournament but there's certainly an argument for getting a more destructive opener in.

Scores too slowly.

Game over!

Congratulations to the resident Pakistanis, thoroughly deserved win with that performance.

Btw, I wish we had a pacer like Amir, it sucks big time to see then produce such quality again and again while we can't produce one :(
Who doesn't wish they had Amir:lol: If he wasn't out the game because of a stupid teenage mistake just think where he'd be now.

Commiserations to our resident Indians but a good moment for us Pakistanis and hopefully it goes some way to rectifying this mental block we have against India in the World Cups.

Can already hear the car horns going off nearby. :D

Bit of humble pie needed for all those calling England's performance 'embarrassing' against a 'bang average side'.

Looks like Pakistan were a lot better than you thought :)

Fakhar had a terrific knock but I'd have given the MOTM to Amir. That spell was sensational & took out india's best/in-form players.

Congrats to the Pakistanis. Completely outplayed us.

Lots of introspection to do for us. This was a proper humbling, on a good weekend batting pitch ffs

And, oh dear the attention whore making a right nuisance of himself:rolleyes::lol:

Winning the toss and asking them to bat in final is inviting trouble, once Pakistan had crossed 300,our fielders shoulders had drooped. It was clear they where not prepared for this chase.Well deserved victory for Pakistan. Congrats guys.

Disappointing would be an understatement. Well done, Pakistan - thoroughly deserved.
