2017 Confederations Cup

Brazilian Ronaldo and Maradona sitting together:D

They have done in the past. This time though the ref wanted to view the video himself. Guess he wanted to be 100% sure.

It only took that long because he went to view the video himself. Usually there's someone who relays what happened.
So can the main ref overrule the decision of the video refs and make up his own mind after watching replays on the sideline?

Glad that didn't go in. Do not want Chile to win

That is why I mentioned Rudy for next year in Russia, makes sense to play him since Xabi left imo.
I don't expect him to be the no.1 option at Bayern, though (and also only no.3 at RB after Kimmich/Rafinha), so he probably won't see that much playing time.

But he looks like an ideal Löw squad player: flexible, reliable, well integrated into the team & style. So I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the WC team.

Chile's players could not score in a brothel

Chile have made us look alright at converting chances tonight

Chile never score. Crazy that the two finals they have won they didn't score in 240 minutes of football.

Haha that shove is not worthy of VAR? They need to let the teams make the calls, when they want to challenge a decision. Twice per half.

They need to get rid of that. It wasted so much time. The video ref should make the decision and tell the ref what to do.

We were left with a situation where the ref is being surrounded by coaches and players on the sideline. Surely they need to implement that only captains can speak to the ref as well. I can already envisage teams who are winning 1-0, diving for penalties and keep moaning to the ref for a video decision to waste time.

It works. VAR was never meant to replace actual refs. Just to help them see what they miss live. Some refs though will still fail to apply the letter of the law even when they see clearly what happened.
Christ, of course VIDEO works. Mix it with stoppage, ref subjectivity, and controversy and you get a system that doesn't work. Just deal with the fact that your team will get shafted once in awhile next season just like every other team.
We don't need VAR

What the hell is all this fighting?

What just happened. Ah, scouse being a dick, shocker.

VAR is an improvement. Of course it is needed.

LOL Can.

Okay he held onto the ball longer than his usual five seconds delayed brain reaction.
