That is absolutely horrible Surely it puts all the other videos in the "footballer reveals" thread to shame.
Not trying to be a WUM, but Rudiger is much better than Lindelof IMO. My wife is a Benfica fan so I've watched them quite a bit-Lindelof is a level below Rudiger at the moment. Rudiger is much faster, is better on the ball, is less clumsy, and is more versatile. Lindelof will also have a more difficult time adjusting I think; the level of the Portuguese league is some distance from Serie A. Lindelof was also quite poor for much of this past season, in particular the first half, though he did improve towards the latter stages. That is absolutely horrible Surely it puts all the other videos in the "footballer reveals" thread to shame.
On another note, I think Rüdiger is a decent signing, although I don't think he's gonna be as good as Lindelöf. Is he gonna start right away? And if so, who's he replacing? Azpilicueta?
Didn't watch Portuguese league much so can't comment on Lindelof. Rudiger has the tools to become a top CB, especially physically, but he has some very bad mistakes in him. Due to his physicality he might acclimate better to the Prem but he still needs to work on his composure and some of the more tactical aspects of the position. If Chelsea's back line is settled it will really help him. He did perform very well at the Confed Cup, could turn out to be a very good signingNot trying to be a WUM, but Rudiger is much better than Lindelof IMO. Take it from someone whos watched Lindelof all year, he isnt anything special. That is absolutely horrible Surely it puts all the other videos in the "footballer reveals" thread to shame.

I suppose if he sucks you can always put him back in the cupboard!A german CB with the best part of his career ahead of him is a very good signing. He is a great prospect and a potential starter for the german NT.
The stats say otherwise regarding being better on the ball, but then you're a Chelsea fan who it seems have an habit of grossly overrating Chelsea players. Not trying to be a WUM, but Rudiger is much better than Lindelof IMO. Yeah, that guy loves to overrate any player linked with Chelsea. The stats say otherwise regarding being better on the ball, but then you're a Chelsea fan who it seems have an habit of grossly overrating Chelsea players.

As you can see on this link, Lindelof beats Rudiger on almost every defensive plus passing score. "A level below Rudiger" indeed.

You would expect Lindelofs stats to be better than rudigers realistically with him playing in a much poorer league and for a more dominant team. The stats say otherwise regarding being better on the ball, but then you're a Chelsea fan who it seems have an habit of grossly overrating Chelsea players.

He says that Lindelof was quite poor and is a class below Rudiger, surely the stats to some extent should show that. You would expect Lindelofs stats to be better than rudigers realistically with him playing in a much poorer league and for a more dominant team.
Don't get me wrong I haven't seen Lindelof play so I cant comment and I think Rudiger has all the assets for Conte to mould into a good CB I'm actually really confident about him, as for Lindelof I've heard he's rated so will have to wait and see.He says that Lindelof was quite poor and is a class below Rudiger, surely the stats to some extent should show that.
Also if Rudiger is playing in a lesser dominant team then surely he should've more interceptions, blocks etc. More dominant team in the league means less to defend
Given you didn't get Lukaku over the line and we couldn't negotiate a fee with Real for Morata good luck getting that done this weekLooks like it is Morata were in for according to Sky Sports, getting him & Bakayoko sealed this week would be great.
Apparently he's become a licensed doctor after having studied the art of medicals for a few months.Where even is Bakayoko? The Moon?
You can't compare the stats directly as about 40% of Rudiger's appearances last season were as a fullback, and about half his appearances as a CB were in a back 3. This would tend to really deflate his counting statistics. He says that Lindelof was quite poor and is a class below Rudiger, surely the stats to some extent should show that.

Their record for bringing youth players into the first team is an embarrassment.Loftus-cheek another successful graduate from the famous Chelsea academy.

Dunno about hardness but my dad wrote a book about football that I thought was quite decent! My dad's harder than your dad
So you saying stats shouldn't be used to judge player?Dunno about hardness but my dad wrote a book about football that I thought was quite decent!

I'm saying that stats have to be taken in context. You can't use direct comparisons between leagues because there are differences in styles/pace of play, so you have to make adjustments. When comparing players from the same league or competition stats are very useful for the most part, or if you're using them as a component of your analysis but they can't be the be all end all.So you saying stats shouldn't be used to judge player?
Didn't you use those stats to big up Bakayoko?I'm saying that stats have to be taken in context. Now, this isn't to say that there aren't ways around these issues-Squawka's performance score and WhoScored both attempt to do this, but both are frankly crap. Each team has their own as well but they're obviously proprietary and protected by a blockade of NDAs.
Nope, never have never will, both are useless. I believe WhoScored rated Otamendi as something like the 10th best player in Europe last season, for instance.Didn't you use those stats to big up Bakayoko?
No, I mean something like Player made x number of tackles, y number of interceptions.Nope, never have never will, both are useless. I believe WhoScored rated Otamendi as something like the 10th best player in Europe last season, for instance.
Someone mentioned that Bakayoko was terrible in the CL and I pointed out that his stats suggested that he wasn't at all. I didn't say that he was brilliant or anything but just that he wasn't shite as many others seemed to think. No, I mean something like Player made x number of tackles, y number of interceptions.
Wasnt he in the team of the season in CL? How can he be terrible and make the team of the season?Someone mentioned that Bakayoko was terrible in the CL and I pointed out that his stats suggested that he wasn't at all.
