There's nothing going on, go have a coffee and don't worry about it.Is there something dodgy going on behind the scenes with this transfer?
He does nothing for them. He's paid to be on holyday 365 days a year basically

Part of the problem maybe, as he's actually a very good evaluator of talent/ability
Barcelona's financial adviser revealed

Let's say Valverde is not gonna play the typical Barca style, imo.He was fantastic under Tite in Corinthians and he's been fantastic under Tite for Brazil. He's been the best player in the chinese league and there's a reason he's a key player for Brazil.
He didn't adapt and flopped at Tottenham but he's actually a good player. With that said, he's been in China for a while, he's not really a Barcelona type midfielder, he's costing 40 million euros and he's 29 years old. It's a ridiculous transfer
If anybody wonders why they signed him, they ought to read this.
EDIT:Josep Maria Bartomeu Floreta is a partner and CEO at ADELTE Group which is into designing, manufacturing, supplying and maintaining airports, seaports and road transport operations.
Apparently, ADELTE Group is expanding into China and bidding on projects like the Ocean Flower Island being built by the Evergrande group which also happens to be the parent organisation of—you guessed it—Guangzhou.
There are rumours that Florentino Perez’s ACS Group was also bidding for the project, but with the Paulinho transfer concluded, could be handed over to ADELTE Group and/or associates.
He isn't, he's just a guy they pay to talk to italian teams when they're interested in one of their playersfecking hell! fecking Wikipedia writes he is their sporting director

Drug trafficking routes ?Surely one of the weirdest career trajectories ever?
Brazil > Lithuania > Poland> Brazil > England > China > Spain
Wouldn't take that as gospel but it's interesting. If anybody wonders why they signed him, they ought to read this.
If true, and it could very well seem so, football is finally showing it's very capitalistic face in public.
Aside from the common sense ones like Suarez and Neymar. They can't seem to identify talent outside of marquee players.Barcelona's transfers have been awful for a long time.
