Looking over my shoulder.
Because Belgium needs a win (perhaps a draw might suffice) to secure a top seeding spot at the WC.
Against Cyprus? If they are serious about being good enough for the seeded spot, they should be able to win comfortably without Lukaku.

Also, what is the rudest word in the Universe?

If he gets injured because of a stupid game vs Cyprus I would love it then if we won the league with loads of games to spare and Lukaku played them all, picks up a knock and missed the WC just coz Martinez is a cnut!

Pretty sure that would spite Lukaku as he would miss playing in the WC.

Either way, why play him? This is the perfect opportunity to have some of the reserves show their qualities.
The reserves aren't going to be playing at the WC. International managers don't get much time with their squads anyway; it's not unreasonable for them to want to give their first team as much playing time together as possible.

I hope everyone watched this; 20 minutes of Masterclass from Lukaku
Scored with his first chance, then buried a screamer but unfortunately ruled out because offside
then nearly scored the historic 5-0 in the dying seconds
Liverpudlian wankers, here we come

This guy has been a goal scoring freak for club and country for the last 2 years. I think that makes it 16 goals in 13 games for club and country this season. Never thought I would say this about 75million, but he was an absolute steal and only 24 it's incredible what he has done so far in his young career.

In this market, getting a very young goal a game striker for £75M was insane business.

To be fair even at the time (pre-Neymar) I was shocked at the 75m agreed. Especially since he was rumoured for a 100m move all last season.

Yeah but when you factor in the fact we gave them Rooney for free and paid half his wages for a year the actual figure is probably closer to £40m.

Just logged in to this thread fearing the worst. So he's still in one piece after the game? Good, that's all I care about.

You should care that he could have had a hatrick in 15 mins and had a perfect appetizer for the main dish on saturday, looks on fire and no sign of rust!

Highlights has his disallowed goal although not the whole thing to show he was maybe on side.
Another thing to note apart from his finishing and physicality is his link up play, people go on and on about how he's not a good footballer and just a finisher but those highlights tell a different story. His link up play is top class and has been for united thus far even if he's prone to an error here or there just like any other player.

Let's hope he's in the mood on Saturday. He often put in unarsed performances - like the rest of his Everton teammates - at Anfield. He's capable of bullying Lovren and co. into submission.

Come on, Rom, lad!

The power on on that offside goal  he really can hammer a ball

IMO Everton always went there knowing they would lose, the mindset is different with us, Jose won't let him sulk and hide. He's going to be well up for it.

Yeah I been waiting for one of his left foot hammers, just putting his foot through the ball. This Saturday hopefully
