He was answering a direct question about two clubs the interviewer mentioned, but then side-stepped it in order to mention the whole of the Championship and League One. He literally changed the subject so as to bring up those two leagues. And, fwiw, nobody needlessly namechecks individual clubs before they've made official contact. It's called professionalism. You' don't undermine existing managers.

He wouldn't need to express interest via interviews. Football doesn't work that way. Negotiations are done behind doors and everyone denies interest until contracts are signed. If anything, he's undercut his own position by mentioning other managers. Read what he's said. He's talking about his ambitions and his willingness to work at a lower level, and gone out of his way to say so despite not needing to do it.
Of course he's not going to mention a specific club. It's a ridiculous standard to apply to him when nobody else does it.

This is probably pointless, given your track record in answering questions, but how many jobs has he applied for that you know of? There's Swansea (PL club) who rejected him. There's us. Any others?

The interview was part of the "Super 6 Class of '92 Diary" which has been a regular feature since at least August. So yes it probably has been scheduled for months.

I would have liked to have seen Giggs given the under 23 job. Would have given him a good platform to perform much like it did with Ole, who went on to get PL jobs of the back of the work he done. Would have been great for the kids to be brought up the United way with the same standards and he would have placed himself right in contention to be the next manager or even long time caretaker if Mou ever goes. I also think he knows the club inside and out and I think he would do a better job at United than he would at a lower end PL club.
He commented on both of these.
I'm saying that he's primarily interested in walking into a PL job and that his talk of Championship and League One is merely lip service.
I would very much like to see him take a job in football management. Any job. Just so we can find out whether he's cut out for it, or not. The Life of Ryan footage, however brief, would suggest not. But who knows. The longer he sits on his ass, the less likely it is that someone takes a chance on him.
Someone must be thinking he's worth a punt by now.. Clearly most of the managers in the EPL are stealing a living.

I remember after he didn’t get the Swansea job the rumours going round was he completely fluffed the interview and came across like someone who didn’t have a fecking clue on management.
I’ve got no problem with him wanting to try but he should drop down the leagues and learn his way he’s not ready for the prem.
So if we believe that story about him failing his Swansea interview, we are supposed to just write him off totally from further possible interviews??

Also as for starting from the bottom, remind me again at what stage the current England head coach started from?
Does he get asked about them? Did he have to mention them in that interview?
