If we are ambitious and continue to spend big with a view to becoming a CL contender I don't think Dave will leave.

I think he's happy enough here, but we haven't as a club performed at a level that his abilities deserve.

The likes of De Gea and Pogba should be playing for teams competing for the CL - let's hope we can get there soon.

I had a weird, short dream last night where I was following De Gea through an airport saying “please don’t do this, come on you don’t have to”, which had no context in the dream, to which he was replying “I just wanna talk to them, I just wanna talk to them”. Obviously the cnut was trying to leave to Madrid.

£63m? Why not just have him for free, and we'll throw in Pogba and Lukaku too, because clearly we're mugs.

I think Madrid have accepted defeat in their pursuit of big dave and it's just the media over there rehashing the same old story.

World class potential youngsters - Mbappe and Dembele (key word being potential) = 150m+ euros

Best GK in the world and yet to hit his prime = 70m euro

Hmmmm....

That's just arrogant. Today's hyper inflated market, De Gea should be valued between 100-200m. If he doesn't sign extension, then it's a different matter.

Exactly this. In today's market I wouldn't sell him for £163m
Matters not what you'd sell him at. If he wishes to return home and is willing to see out his contract, then it's a good offer and there are numerous keepers we could sign to almost replace him. Clubs simply aren't going to pay £100 million for a goalkeeper, even if he is arguably the best in the world. If he goes I'd hope we look at Butland to replace him. Personally don't want him to leave, but his wishes should be respected if he sees it as time to move on, he's stuck around in some sticky patches for the team and been very professional in how he conducts himself and really improved as a player year on year.

I would like to add that we would like to buy Isco for 15m next summer.
It would be our pleasure

Let the meltdown commence.

Nothing to see here. We see this every Summer. It's like the annoying Bale to United rumours.
True, but at least both Bale and his agent come out almost immediately and laugh the rumours off every time. The silence from De Gea's camp causes these rumours to spiral into meltdowns from our side.

Would be great if De Gea was to publicly stick two fingers up at Madrid and put a stop to the gossip before it even begins. But I doubt he will. The deal got as far as him almost signing for Madrid, so he's clearly open to it.

We should push them to up their offer to the absolute maximum, we hold all the cards this summer. June 2019 on the other hand, not so much and if the mutual interest (between Real and De Gea) is still there we could look at doing a record-breaking deal and source a replacement.

Won’t be long before The Sun are citing me as an inside source.

It was all a bit like this:
With different dialogue of course. Hopefully it ends with Dave shoving a shotgun in Perez’s mouth too.

If he goes we should get £60 million and Isco in return. Otherwise - no deal.

Yes. He wanted to go Madrid. He might still want to.

But it's evident that Madrid are not willing to match United's price. Until then, why stress.

feck off Real.

Also why would they spend so much on a GK when they need to replace BBC soon (and then Modric)

After the Morata fiasco, them stringing United along all summer and then selling at a cheaper price to Chelsea, I don’t think these two clubs will be doing any ”kind” business like this with each other anytime soon.

I understand your point but I still think we have a right to ask more and 63m for the best keeper is just an ok amount. My point is we should not blindly accept the offers of these feckers , remember how they rinsed us for di maria and refused to sell morata to us. We should rinse them, simple as that. Also, let me tell you replacing keeper is actually pretty tough. Yes butland could do a great job but the pressure of being United's gk is immense , de gea is the prime example of that. So we should not take this lightly.

If we fight off real for this time also, then that's it for their pursuit for de gea. This could be their last time chasing de gea. They have already made to look like fools twice now, perez won't allow that to happen again. So let us hold de gea and keep him here for lifetime. Players will always want to move but if the club is stubborn and pays the player hefty amount and surrounds him with quality players then he will change his mind. So let us not succumb to his demands. Let him stay here and feck madrid.

What an insane thing if true. It's strikers we need, not a fecking goalkeeper

What are Madrid doing

Not a chance we’re accepting anything unless it’s over 100m.

Bale rumours started again a few days ago (like it ever really stopped!), so ergo, DDG rumors start. Soon these intellectual journos will be smart enough to connect the dots and write a "DDG and Bale swap deal" of sorts, over the coming days. :wenger:

Real Madrid are very canny in the transfer market. They make a lot of noise about buying expensive players (DDG, Mbappe) but haven’t bought a galacto since James and Bale and even then they drew a fair bit back on sales those years. Think the Spanish sides are clearly lacking the money of the English sides.
