The hyperbole in this thread is strong, i'll give it a miss.

Proper hyperbole mate. 1 goal in 13 games whilst just gifting City 2 goals and missing a sitter.

Top red though aren’t you? can’t critisize a united player no way.

Time to avoid this thread for the next 3 days.

But in all fairness, he does look like he’s won the Premier League for a Manchester Club today.

Looked utterly lost. Both City goals resulted from him being unable to use his body at corners. Then he fluffs the one thing he’s meant to excel at. Embarrassing performance.

Lukaku is the difference between us challenging for the title and challenging for top 4......he makes us only capable of challenging for top 4. He should be nowhere near a title challenging first 11.

Worst game I have seen from him. Shame Zlatan is not match fit and JM refuse to play Rashford/Martial as CF.

We have no strikers left but this guy.

Magical Manchester United.
Genuine 0/10 Performance. (Partly wrt the first goal) at fault for both City goals and missed a golden chance to equalize. Did nothing all night to help us keep the ball upfront. Oh well.

I have given him a lot of leeway, but he was shit. He looks a very limited player, not at all worth 75m.

He's a good player. But nowhere near being a top player, hence, not good enough for us. His touch is terrible, his composure likewise. I thought Jose was trying to light a fuse under him when he defended him during some sour performances, but seems not.

We can't replace one below par player having an untouchable status with another.

We most definitely need an alternative to him. Bright start here, but that's all it has been so far. Absolutely nothing to justify being the starting striker at a top club, completely mediocre performances so far.

Lukaku lost us the game today. Caused both of the goals and missed a sitter.

I refuse to believe he was first choice. When the market was thin on strikers, Jose just went for a PL proven player. Trouble is, he could end up like Schneiderlin, struggling at a bigger club.

But he does well against poor teams which is why I don't think he's completely useless but we need to upgrade if we want to win trophies
He’s a flat track bully who only scores against weaker teams. He’s done it for years. It’s why morata was my first choice in the summer of the available plqyers.

Really we should have tested spurs resolve to a 100 million bid for Kane

He's big lump, but we are not playing to his strengths, Jose needs to understand that despite his size he is not all that in the air and stop using him as a tree.

Feel for him. Hung out to dry by the tactics of the twat in charge.

He was used to more attacking positivity at Everton.

THought his attitude was his best trait. Maybe I was wrong. Plus he's out of form badly.

Time to be dropped, cost us the game today and both Rashford and Martial are much more deserving of that place as the number 9
I can bet that Martial will outscore Lukaku if he plays as our #9 for as many matches as him.

Don't think he could have done anything different in the big chance. But aside from that he was shit. Like really monumentally shit.

It's one thing to be anonymous in a game, but another to be an outright negative to your team. The term Donkey is thrown out pretty callously in football these days, but that performance merited that description.

What exactly is his talent? He can’t hold up the ball, can’t control it, can’t header, he’s not a great finisher, he’s weak for the size he is and he’s tactically inept.
Scoring goals? Isn't it obvious?

He was never good enough so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise. City had a much better striker sat on the bench watching
