I've never been a Lingard fan and I've watched him all through the youth teams, but thought he was really good today (and as been for the last few games) thought he always looked a threat, got an assist and should have had another goal *takes out Richarlison and puts him in fantasy football team*

Sharp performance, got an assist and could have had a second, should have scored his sitter though.

Thought he was fantastic today, and a big reason as to why we looked so smooth in attack today. He opens so much room for others.

Only downer was his miss. If he scores that he wins the game, but everything else was really good from him today.

Growing into the kind of 10 Jose likes.

His only talent is that he can run around to trouble the opposition's defense. A fecking middle school student can do what he does. He needs to be shipped out, not United quality at all.

Never thought Lingard would ever be a starting 10 in a team where we have Mata, Mkhitaryan, Ibra et al. Well deserved. Love you dabberman

Had to finish that but I was pleased to see how angry he was at himself and have noticed that in recent games. If he can show improvement in his end product he’ll be a really good player.

^^ This guy clearly didn't watch the game and Lingards last few games, just checks the scores on the computer and types nonsense.

If I checked the scores on the computer, then I wouldn't have posted such a comment. Have you even seen him perform inn a game??? He is not United level period. If you think he is, then go support Arsenal, because he belongs there, not here at United.

Bet you didn't comment when he scored his 7 goals and made his four assists. You wouldn't even be in this thread if he scored instead of hit the post

So you are one of the delusional fans who think that Lingaard is a United quality player. He has 4 goals and 4 assists this season in the Pl, get your facts right.

he needs to finish games from now on. the team and their energy died as soon as he left the pitch. He's literally is our battery.

Definition of average. Did good things, but when you need him to step up, he hit the post. Not hating on him, as i think he's a useful player & offers a great tactical option. Just not one i'd rely on as a starter if i wanted to keep my job as a manager at a top club.

He had a great match, but his miss was as criminal as all other misses in this game.

And I was talking about the PL and his 3 other goals came in the league cup(we got knocked out remember?). BTW, De Bryune has 6 goals in the PL and 8 assist, with & goals and 11 assists overall.

He has one of the best end products in the team this season.
It’s things like this I don’t understand. His end product is honking and has been since he broke through. Two three good goals doesn’t change this try 15-20 from his position and good all round play.

Need Martial to step up and he skied it nowhere even close, average. Logic.

You can't honestly sit there and say he hasn't made a good contribution especially lately. He has the best movement among our forwards. Just imagine if Martial and Rashford had Lingard's intelligence and awareness of space. Two goals against Arsenal lets not forget.

It was a very good play, hit the post but you can't really read too much into it. Misses happen to everyone.

Probably a season ticket holder who has watched Lingard more than you over the last few years rather than the last couple of tv performances.

And yet he has the 2nd best production rate in the squad. Not my fault you can't understand basic stuff.

He’s been great in the middle lately, and was tonight, too. Shame about that miss, though, but I really hope that he’ll carry this form into the new year. We don’t have a better option than him in form as an offensive runner in the middle, and it’s always great to see a local lad contribute.

Why probably? You have no idea, but he's saying things about a player you don't rate that fit your narrative so he's 'probably' a season ticket holder (as if that alone makes him more knowledgeable)

Arsenal is shite. His contribution is good if he was a sub coming off the bench. He is not United level player for a starting 11 offensively, period. If he is an example of a starting United player, then United have seriously gone to the dumps to the level of Loserpool and Arsenal

Lingard played very well so I'm not going to give him stick for his miss tonight. He was the least of our problems.

Arsenal are not the team they used to be but they still dominated us in that game. We did well to just concede one goal. Liverpool have scored more goals than United this season and lost one game less, they do have a shit defense. Park started many big games and many thought he was never 'United material'. Even today he played well. Lingard linked up well with Lukaku and Pogba, better than anything Martial and Rashford offered

Arsenal had to, it was at the Emirates, and they are 7 points behind us, so they are shite. Loserpool have lost 2 games and drawn 8. drawing 8 games is 16 points dropped, so they are shite. Park felt he wasn't "United material", but us fans and players thought otherwise because of his contributions to the team, especially during the big games. And please do not compare Park to Lingaard, Lingaard is not even half the player Park was.

Editing my own posts.
It was an awful miss and ultimately a pivotal game changing one, but I can’t really hold it against him too much. In a game where we threw away multiple chances by just being lazy, I can at least say with confidence he would’ve probably missed that whatever the score. It was an honest fluff. Which is something, I suppose.

You're drunk aren't you? I remember being on this forum defending Park. Arsenal may be 'shite' to you but they are still one of the best teams in the league and they beat us comfortably at the Emirates last season and finished above us

The difference in his and Martials miss was Lingard MADE that chance with that excellent run between the two defenders and dribble around the keeper. He was unlucky to hit the post with it.

Martial’s was handed on a fecking plate and he skied it. From that distance.... That’s unacceptable.

Agreed. Was about to post same, Lingard playing makes the attacking fluid as his movement is very good and always option for the pass. Also his ability to receive passes in the crowded area is very underrated.

Apart from the chance he missed, everything was very good.

I'm a fan of Jesse and thinks he gets a lot of unfair criticism but lets be honest, there was nothing "unlucky" about the miss, it was shocking and could make it onto one of Danny Bakers Christmas DVD's. Granted he made the chance for himself but it was an easy chance once he'd done the hard work.
