won't this just drive up the fee City have to pay. 15 million quid isn't much to them. I'd like to think we are genuinely in for him, but I don't see it. Hope I'm wrong

Nothing from the BBC or any United journos such as Ducker/Stone, which makes me think this has either come from Sanchez's agent or Arsenal, in order to put pressure on City to hurry up.

Don’t get your hopes up, guys. You see this a lot. A transfer is almost done then at the last minute you start seeing stories of rivals making a bid. Sanchez to City is done, they throw these stories out to squeeze the last bit of juice from the story.

This is great just even if just pushing the price up for City.

Although I am of the opinion it might be a ploy for the big wigs at United to make themselves look busy and say 'Look, we tried but Sanchez didn't want to come here'. A bit like Arsenal fans get every summer really.

Tbh it would be stupid not to be in for him for the price being touted, he is a legitimate class player on his day. However if it is true i dont like that we are putting our selves in a position to be snubbed for city. It would just make us look bad.

Coming as an Arsenal fan, I assure you Sanchez will not be joining United. The revolt will be catastrophic and most Arsenal fans would expect Arsene to retire immediately. Simply put, a transfer to United regarding Sanchez will have a bigger negative impact than City.

Based on my assumptions, I also think Sanchez wants to swiftly return to the very top (Like the Barca days) doesn't want to wait a year or so for the United project to finish. Guy seems to be impatient and itching for a move to what many would perceive as the best team in England.

I would be very surprised if United have even a sniff of a chance. With our other players? Yes. With Sanchez/Ozil? No.

You mean like the revolt last time you sold us your best player? The club will do whatever they like and the fans will deal with it. Like always.

If he’s going to be played on the left, I really don’t want him. If he will be used on the right however, and that’s a position that he actually can play, I’m all aboard.

LOL. Arsenal have absolutely no balls whatsoever and show us that time and again. You have no leverage here. None.

You'll sell to whoever Kroenke gets the most money from as you do time and again - He couldn't give a shit what you think. If Arsenal were going to make a stand they'd have done it one of the first five or six times this scenario has played out.

You're underestimating Woodward, with our sponsorship spiderweb network, he can offer a range of Chevvy cars, Adidas gear, tickets to the cinema with 20th century Fox, budget Russian plane tickets, a case of mid range red wine (Casillero De Diablo), subscription to Deezer, a New Era cap, a tag heuer watch and a lifelong membership to Uber premium. I'm starting to think the days of us only going public with our interest is if we really think it's a goer are gone. Would be a bit tragic if we really are making a desperate late bid when it seems fairly obvious he just wants City.

I really dont see Sanchez refusing an already successful project like City and Pep.

Arsenal are a joke of a club, they've been a feeder club for years now for better teams in the PL, it's about time their fans accepted they're a lower tier club, a stepping stone.

I think if we start challenging again maybe, but let's be honest, we are destined to be garbage for the next decade. :nervous: They bought Ade and Nasri off us, that's hardly half our team. We didn't need Clichy or Sagna either when they got them years later. And when we did sell them our players we still had other established players in the team to cover for those losses.
Toure too (which makes half an outfield), but I take your point.
Wait, do people outside of Australia watch our garbage soap operas?

Obviously city is the more attractive destination at the moment but from the looks of things they're playing hard ball.

Also, you can be sure he would get much more game time here and we'd pay him just as much if not more.

Sanchez is nearing the last few years of his career, he probably wants silverware fecking fast, as it looks right now Citeh are the safer bet for that.

Firmly believe he'll go to Citeh.

We clearly dont have time martial and rashford to develop. We need results and trophies mate. City are going to walk at least 2 major trophies this season. All big teams have more than 1 world class player for each position.

I agree that Sanchez won't come. He seems to want to join up with Pep and more importantly, he'll be winning the league without even having to play a single game. Ozil on the other hand can come to United inn the summer since he'll run his contract down and Arsenal can whine all they want, it's not going to make a difference.

Perhaps we agreed to back away from Malcom during any talks with Arsenal?

I doubt he will come in the end, but just a newsflash. Both Sanchez and Ozil contracts end in 6 month time, so basically you're not even in a position to decide where they go. That alone should be enough for so-called revolt.

I heard Sanchez shook hands on signing a new contract with Arsenal until you were humiliated by Bayern 10-2. If that is what changed his mind, it doesn't show he's in desperate need to be at the very top immediately.

I think it would make sense for Arsenal to sell to us over City if we have offered Mhiki into the deal, Wenger isn't stubborn enough to refuse a target of his just because of Jose. That said, if we're offering no player then I'm sure Wenger would rather sell to City over United because of Jose.

If Man Utd are interested going by the reports, the only reason I can see United interested in Sanchez is because he can lead the line in Lukaku's absence and can play anywhere in attack behind Lukaku. Reports are coming in that Ibrahimovic will probably leave earlier than the summer and I'm sure United would want backup as well.

Except that’s not true. It seems Pep wants Sanchez to join up with him, because he bid for him, but there has been nothing from Sanchez to indicate he is particularly desperate to play for Pep over anyone else.

He may well end up at City, but he’s said nothing at all. This is all guess work based on the fact City have pursued him.

Did he not have a shaky relationship with Baldamort at Barca?
