Di Marzio probably knew the news first from Inter, as most of his sources came from Italy. Probably Inter told him they're not signing Mikhi because he's going to Arsenal, then he asked some agents and knew the story.

Who would drop from the City XI for him. Let alone with Bernardo Silva etc too!

Whilst I’m firmly of the belief that Utd have contacted club/player, I also think that Sanchez’ mind is made up and he is preparing to join up with Pep. He may not be playing every game (doesn’t matter as Chile not in WC) but the promise of winning titles/cups will have much bigger sway then money.

Raiola is Mkhitaryan's agent so he will obviously know if Sanchez is involved in the deal. Doesn't make sense of Woodward leaking this and especially to Sky in Italy. That's why I'm thinking it's Raiola who has leaked it to Sky in Italy and Di Marzio has form with Raiola.
Interesting, I hadn't really put much stock in the Mkhi part of the story as these part exchanges so rarely happen, it does explain why Di Marzio would be at the center of breaking the story though.

Coming as an Arsenal fan, I assure you Sanchez will not be joining United. The revolt will be catastrophic and most Arsenal fans would expect Arsene to retire immediately. Simply put, a transfer to United regarding Sanchez will have a bigger negative impact than City.

Based on my assumptions, I also think Sanchez wants to swiftly return to the very top (Like the Barca days) doesn't want to wait a year or so for the United project to finish. Guy seems to be impatient and itching for a move to what many would perceive as the best team in England.

I would be very surprised if United have even a sniff of a chance. With our other players? Yes. With Sanchez/Ozil? No.
I think most United fans know that. Your fans have accepted being City's female dog, but just cannot get over the fact that RvP signed and won the title for United.

Pushing the price up against City seems irrelevant to them. At last it's benefit Arsenal.
It will piss them off and that's a win in my book. I also think we'll offer more on wages, with all this talk of Zlatan leaving before March we'll decent budget for a big offer.

Convinced he's off to City.
However, there might be a slim chance he's upset they waited till the last couple of days in the transfer window to bid for him.
A bit like the De Gea situation.

Di Marzio reporting our interest + Sanchez not having signed for City yet + Mkhitaryan not going to Inter + Zlatan going to MLS = It’s happening #Sanchez7.

I found it interesting that Di Marzio said Mourinho contacted Wenger himself for the deal, very RVP-esqua here.

Say a prayer and let's hope i'm wrong.

Even on his off day, he’s a class above Mkhi. He’d step in ahead of Rashford and could rotate with Lukaku if we need to rest the big guy.

IMO this is not happening. Why we are involved in this story too late? Have we suddenly realized that City want Sanchez so we decided to give it a go?

What I got from Di Marzio via google translate is that everything was agreed between Sanchez and City but we stepped in last minute with and offer which includes Mkhitaryan. Which Arsenal prefer. It’s whether we can convince Sanchez to join us now.

Seems to me that City will ask Sanchez to stay at Arsenal until the end of the season and get him on a free then. They’re already not willing to fork out what Arsenal want, so I can’t see them putting in a better offer than what we have.

I recon there is a decent chance Sanchez joins purely out of City’s unwillingness to stump up massive amount of money it would take to make their offer better than ours. And I also can not see Sanchez wanting to remain at Arsenal any second more than he has to. I think he burned all his bridges there, including with some of his teammates.

Would be a great signing but I'm not getting sucked into this one until it happens
I think he wants the move to City to be honest

Where would Sanchez even fit in City's 11? There's a void now that Jesus is out but what happens when he's fit? He was already first choice over Aguero centrally and Sane and Sterling have been 'undroppable' out wide based on form. Something has to give, at least here he would be a guaranteed starter.

Also Alexis is like 34 days older than Mkhitaryan and 10 times the player. If we can get it done I’d do nasty things to my pecker.

Don't think it would be that big a deal. Maybe to the fans briefly, or longer considering the bitterness around. United Arsenal rivalry ain't what it was though, in my eyes.

He is better than Sane and Jesus is out maybe for up to six months, and he can play as a striker too. Pep wants him and will make sure he is a starter there and looks like Sanchez will choose City over us, couple of months and he will win the league there easily. If the rumors are true which I don't think then we might offer him a way better wages and offer Arsenal a real good deal.

Okay. Found a much better video (and deleted the other one) of his performances for Arsenal before this season. There has been a dip in form but I mean that’s more than likely due to uncertainty over his future and completely giving up on Arsenal as a club.

I’m 100% sure he’ll be firing on all cylinders again once he moves. Just hope it’s to us.

fecking hell im still a muppet at heart. :(

Is this straight player swap or it involves more fee from us?

It seems almost certain that we *would* be interested in him.

In fact, it’s very hard to think of a scenario where we wouldn’t be.

So that part is almost certainly true.

However, whether we made a move for him and whether he or his agent have indicated any openness to it remains to be seen.
