Does it really matter if he’s available for Burnley or not? We should have enough. The game isn’t even on TV is it? Maybe Sky want to show his debut..
This is a new one. Sky scuppered the deal for a few days just so they can have his debut on telly

Sport Witness has been one of the few sane media outlets following this story. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but the mainstream media has been bizarre in its coverage of this transfer.

I now see why Jose uses terms like 'garbage news.'
They've been sound. I don't get it, Jose won trophies last year.
And if anyone is known for throwing money at players, it's City.

What would you do if Sanchez signed and then held up United shorts for his pictures? All the while wearing just shorts and no shirt?

Are you suggesting that the deal is being delayed because sky want to show his debut?
Well it would seem more like an Ed Woodward idea, frankly. The guy can get hard over a noodle sponsorship so I wouldn’t rule this out!

Ok just to pass the time and play devils advocate, why do you guys think Alexis rejected city?

Do you guys really think it's because he wanted to play for us over them? Of course Money has a big part to play!

In my opinion, when United came in he thought "ok this is interesting... I would not mind playing for UTD!". Then it came down to money. At best, Money was the tie breaker between us and city. He didn't choose us because we're Manchester United and are a bigger club than City. Let's be honest.

The media is clearly oversimplifying it to push their agenda that Sanchez is only going to UTD for the money. Which is incredibly disrespectful to our history, prestige and brand. It's not like he's going China! But some of you here are suggesting that as soon as he heard of our interest, he told city to feck off because United is the only place he wants to go!

City got their panties in a punch when they realised Alexis would have no problem to play for us. So refused to up their offer
I can only speculate, but I suspect he was totally keen to join City, but they oddly decided now is the time to start pinching pennies and weren't willing to make a deal, while we were.

There are plenty of factors to benefit both sides, but I suspect the driving one is we were willing to offer what was needed to Arsenal to make a deal happen, and City just weren't.

The City of Salford.
I think the press massively overplayed his relationship with Guardiola.

As I recall (I could be wrong so am happy to be corrected), they had one season together at Barcelona and towards the end of that season, Sanchez was out of the side. Guardiola didn't really appreciate the way when Sanchez got the ball he'd get his head down and run at defenders. Not very tiki-taka.

I think the fact that if he does join us he instantly improves us and becomes one of the main men would have played a part. At city he wouldn't be guaranteed to start every game and he'd be just another great player in a team running away with the league.

He has the opportunity to come to United and make a real difference.

The shed load of money probably helps, too.

I think it's nothing more than player-player swaps take more time. Both clubs would rather the deal actually work than meet a matchday deadline.

Remember what wenger said, it's likely to happen, but people have to realise these deals can fall a part very quickly.

I love the media narrative of this transfer to be honest. It feels like us vs the world again and I've missed that.

Plus, we have a manager who will be absolutely lapping it up. Can you imagine Moyes faced with this barrage?

"David, the media are saying Sanchez wanted City, and he's only coming to us because we're paying him 2 million pounds a month."

On a serious note - i've got confidence in this because Arsene too needs to placate the Arsenal supporters with the signing of Mkyi .

Thought we peaked yesterday. But then you get this
Makes me laugh how people get irate at this sort of thing whilst linking it to thousands and giving them the exposure they crave from such sensationalist articles.

You could just as well see it more neutral:

If you had:
- A guaranteed starting place every weekend
- A better wage
- A club with more history / reputation
- Playing in front of 75000+ every week vs a half empty stadium
- A manager who is just as much of a winner as Pep is.

Then United seems like a great option to me. Let's not pretend Sanchez would be happy to rotate much under Pep.

The league next year should be pretty equal next year with Sanchez on the team. It's probably not our last signing neither over the summer.

Sky reporting that Aube not in squad for Hertha Berlin game tomorrow.

If Aube move goes through, it would mean Arsenal got Mckhi + Aube for a small outlay in cash. And let go Sanchez in exchange. Would be great business on their part tbh. Win-win deal for both, them and us

Exactly. It's what the media want and our fans are falling for it hook, line and sinker.

Yeah, feel dirty to be using the term "fake news", but damn, the rags make it tough! It's beyond bizarre to see the reporting and blatant Pep-fellating in progress...
I don't read the dailies. I get my news from the BBC website. Even then I don't read their take on a story but read the facts and form my own opinion.

All good points. It's shocking really how the media is conveniently forgetting all of those above points.

However, had City offered to match our wage demands, do we think Sanchez would still have chosen us?
