You know how bad media has been when Klopp is defending over night. City is a god given gift to mankind , they should have all the titles and all the best players. All other clubs should feed on scraps.

Just been on the Pogba thread and seen that people were expecting an announcement on July 29th where the deal had been ‘close’ for days. It wasn’t announced by the club until August 7th and he didn’t join until even later than that. Suggests this one could also drag on a bit particularly as Raiola is once again involved which is probably why the Pogba saga took so long. As long as we get him eventually that’s all that matters.

What's up with the Ornstein photoshops, they're brilliant but am I missing something?

Is he Arsenal's Di Marzio?

Iirc Pogba was on holiday till august 3 or something so we could finish it only once he was back

That's the nail on the head from Klopp of all people. City don't pull out of a transfer for Alexis Sanchez over money and you don't choose United over City because of money.

I wonder what happens if Mkhitaryan cannot agree a deal with Arsenal and stays here - I reckon we would just pay the agreed fee for Sanchez?
You'd hope So, Jose has said time and again that when a player like this becomes available in January you have to take notice. That said Wenger has stopped the deal happening because of him not finding a replacement before, so no reason he wouldn't do it again.

I have no regrets. The mod who started this silliness is in Ireland I believe. I live in Manchester and have to deal with City fans on a daily basis. I'm delighted they lost and delighted that we nabbed Sanchez from them.
At this point someone who doesn't want to see City lose a few is secretly a Pep lover. I was thrilled to see Pool do it. Would love to see anyone else do so too. Gives me peace at work for a week from the City fan (notice singular) if nothing else.

Yeah, I respect Klopp for this. You know it's bad when United fans are agreeing with what he's saying. Then again, he can't really talk a lot of shit regarding transfers given what they paid for VVD.

Klopp is saying the same thing Mourinho would've said if it was Liverpool getting Sanchez instead.

The rags are lapping up tweets comparing us offering £13m and them offering £14m; however, our figure is gross and theirs is net. So if the reported numbers are true they literally offered him more than double what we did.
Di Marzio

Manchester City is ready to welcome Alexis Sanchez to the club. An agreement has been reached between the club and the player for a contract worth 13 million pounds per season net, plus a 30 million signing bonus. The only question is whether they will close the deal now during the winter market or if it will happen in June. If they were to close it now, Arsenal would receive 20 million pounds while the player would receive the same annual contract but his signing bonus would be reduced to 15 million.

When asked why they were unable to match United's offer, the Manchester City boss replied: "I am not the guy with the mathematics, the numbers.

Sounds like he was over ruled and he isn't happy about it

I'm sure Pep doesn't care how much money players cost - he just wants the players. All the players

As soon as City found out Sánchez was also speaking to United they took a massive huff. Seems if you don’t want to play for Pep and only Pep then they can’t handle it. Pathetic.

I don't even understand why this is still a thing. What does it even matter who pays more? Is it considered some sort of moral victory? If so it's the most pathetic and irrelevant victory known to man. And in this case it's not even a moral victory because City have already spent hundreds of millions in the last couple years, so it becomes an even stranger point of contention.

Anyone else slightly concerned?

I just wouldn't be surprised if we got an out of nowhere "United drop interest in a deal" ala Griezmann in the Summer.

TO be fair to City, you can see why they don’t deem Sanchez a must purchase. If we had Sane & Sterling at our disposal, I wouldn’t mind missing out on him.

The only issue though, they know he significantly strengthens us. From city’s perspective, it would be ideal if alexis stayed at Arsenal. They know he could be fantastic for us. A playmaker in the summer, right back and midfielder and we are looking very good indeed.
