I thought about this the other day. I mean, if he woke up at Saturday with FLU symptoms (and not the common cold) he was never going to be ready in time for wednesday.
Mourinho said he was fine.

I know but, what is the point of having someone like Pogba if you are not starting him in matches like this. He is one of our few guys left who has experience playing deep in the CL.
And he and Sanchez our are best players.

Pogba at his best is obviously class, but if they just don't suit each other, maybe it's best to part ways. None of us know exactly what's going on behind the scenes, if Pogba's attitude has turned to shit, or whatever else, but if it comes to the summer I would rather we sell Pogba then sack Mourinho. Sacking a manager to make a player happy and everything in your club becomes fecked up. Manager has to be the main man. It's not like it's a case like before where we blatantly had a clown in charge with Moyes. Mourinho is a proven manager and has improved us, though maybe there is a limit to how far he can go. But even still, doesn't mean the club should prioritize pogba. He might love United, he might just care about himself. Nobody knows. What we do know is on the pitch he has struggled to live up to the hype in his 18 months here, almost exclusively performed well in "easier" games, and then his recent games have been pathetic in terms of work rate.

Mourinho has his critics but I doubt he 'needs' Pogba tonight if he leaves him on the bench. Guess his illness might be an issue too.

Seen word of Matic/Herrera/McTominay being the three in midfield.

If that's the case, it's pretty clear what Mourinho's plan is (and why Pogba isn't really necessary). Depressing as that might be to some people.

Maybe he can play 20-25 minutes?
Which makes no sense either. We have another big game on sunday. Fully rest him for that.

Thing that worries me is that Jose has a history of falling out with players in a very very big way.

Our biggest game of the season for me tonight. If Jose leaves him on the bench & he's fully fit something is clearly not right. Despite recent performances, he's our best player.

Not as simple as that. Recently clubs where Mourinho has had a player war actually done better by getting rid of him.

If he’s not starting tonight, I can’t see him starting a big match against Chelsea on Sunday.

He will be short of match fitness, and will find it difficult to come back into the starting 11 tactically clued up.

For the record, Salah did not have outstanding potential.
He barely featured for Chelsea.. He went to Roma and tore it up. De Bruyne barely featured for Chelsea.. He went to Wolfsburg and tore it up. Mourinho just doesn't seem to have enough patience to allow players to develop.

He also ditched Cech for Courtois.

The main thing is, those decisions didn't really affect him at the time. 4 years ago, he had a strong Chelsea side, it was a winning formula - a title winning side so it was so it didn't really give others the opportunity to contribute to what already as successful. Hazard, Oscar, Willian was working brilliantly.

It's weird that he drops him at the same time he actually starts playing a midfield 3. You wonder if he does it deliberately.

Salah did not have oustanding potential. Naming 2 players out of his 15 year career means nothing.

Not like we as a club are in turmoil though. Still 2nd, in the fa cup, in the CL and all indications are he has the players support. Not nearly the same shit that was happening at Chelsea or Madrid

It's quite simple but most seem to miss them obvious...these players would not have developed the way they did if they stayed at Chelsea. KdB especially is a completely different player now, back then he was a wide attacker like Hazard and at Wolfsburg he was a no.10 that would support the striker. At Man City KdB is a midfield orchestrator. As he has developed his game he has gone further back on the pitch.

Good decision - if genuinely ill it's probably a bit soon to rush him back starting. Moreover his lack of defensive discipline is not ideal for an away fixture to Sevilla. ]

This is obviously just conjecture but Jose had a go at Spanish players at Madrid for being too pally with their Barca counterparts.
Maybe Jose doesn't like Pogba's very laid back attitude. Everyone always saying how he's dancing and fecking around and that's who Paul is. Maybe Mourinho asked him to pipe down a bit and ended up offending Pogba. I know its some serious tin foil hat shit but who tells players to stop being good friends after they just won the World Cup together and generally had dominated the world as a group for 6 years. So it wouldn't surprise me if Jose said to Pogba to rain it in and he took it thick.

Okay all of you can now say I'm talking bollocks. I'm ready. :D

I honestly don't care, as long as we play well and win. If we're shit and lose, I'll probably be angry.

I don't know what else to say man. It's going to be a containing job and I'm struggling to stay positive after this. He'll probably miss Chelsea as well and these two games are pivotal to our season. We are approaching a make or break period and instead of pushing together as one we are creating more distractions for ourselves with the Pogba situation.

This decision makes me sick. We are so much better with Pogba in the side and all of this is most likely going on as a pissing contest. Pogba is probably pissed Alexis got the no7 so now his buddy Griezmann definitely isn’t coming. And on the other hand Jose is being Jose with his mind games. I was 100% behind Mourihno being the right guy to return United to glory but his man management really makes me question at times.

If pogba does not start today then i think it confirms the rumours about him and Mourinho clashing. This is not a good sign Mourinho always clashes with one star player then then slowly in the next couple of weeks or months the list grows until half the squad hates Mourinho, happened in Chelsea and Madrid.

Are we about to see Mourinho implode? specially if we lose today
