While I'm sad that Rooney is clearly finished, I am also shocked that walcott pretty much is too. He is making the same mistakes today at 27 as he was at 17. But now he has less pace. His lack of progress from those early days really is astounding.

How can you work with class players every day for a decade and learn nothing at all.

I'm so happy Liverpool have Lovren - he's just an appalling player. Looking at the defence and midfield it's a wonder how well they've done this year..
