I'm beginning to wonder whether Di Marzio's tweet was not one of his good uns. Clearly we're not paying £50m for Arnautovic, probably not interested in a 32 year old Mandzukic and we don't seem to have agreed feck all with Shakhtar yet regarding Fred.

I don't want him to go there, tbh. Would absolutely love him at Arsenal more than in City as he could make City too diverse and too unpredictable in their attacking options even more.

Knowing their owners, they'll probably splash the whole 75m on him, not even because the player is worth that much, it's because they can and they don't give one.
1. Arsenal has no money, no CL football
2. We are loaded with attacker at the moment, we need defenders and GK.

Definitely looks like he jumped the gun on that one anyway.

Obviously the price tag is ludicrous but I'd be interested to find out who are the alternatives out there if we are desperate for a back up striker?

Personally, I believe a club as big as ours should have Lukaku + another similar tier player competing for one position, but as we have more pressing concerns, I'd rather have Rashford/Sanchez/Martial as our back up options. Even fecking Arsenal have Aubameyang + Lacazette

In all seriousness didn’t he have miss after miss last season. Seem to recall him being poor the season before as well. Obviously things change and happen at the drop of a hat so not everything is going to be right but I find his “god status” strange.

Anyway 50 mil for Arnautavic, hell no... I’m sure the fee is a lot less than what is reported but even if it was 30mil surely someone is having a laugh.

People speak of him as a backup striker, but he is no striker at all. Rashford is a striker, and some would say he isn’t very good on his own... but replacing him with another guy that’s not a striker!?

a Mouriniho type player. I always thought of him as a decent striker though never thought we would be interested in him.

If this is true it's bloody madness. Why on earth would we be the slightest be interested in a 29 year old forward who did good at Stoke and looked alright in a terrible West Ham side.

Let's all be offended by a transfer rumour and treat it as though it's true because it suits our agenda to do so.

A club like us should be trying to sign a world class striker and have lukaku as backup. Not this clown, his stats are terrible and every time I’ve seen him play he misses chances and fecks up the momentum in attack.... Oh wait he sounds exactly like our other attacking options!

I've got a feeling in the Pellegrini regime, Marko might not be quite the striker he's looking for to take the Hammers into the promised land.

Hence his agent, stirring pots already.

If you actually have a look at Arnautovic's career, he always appears to have more to say than actual highlights in a footballing sense.

He's more like a cartoon character than a footballer.

You could say the Hammers would be stupid to let him go - but he doesn't look a Manuel Pellegrini striker to me and that might be the reason for the hawking around.

WH paid £25m for him, hes been good for them, and he has 4 years on his contract, so if the rumours are true, there's no way he's leaving for anything near £30m.
Why he’s a year older (29) and has had a relatively poor season? So surely the figure should be less than £25m?

Is all the uproar and complaining in here over those few tweets? Is there anything concrete or is it just paper talk like every single player that’s been linked to us up to now?

With 11 goals....
I'm not saying he's worth more, but if you think West Ham will let their top scorer leave, a year into his contract, and take a hit (or even break even) on the fee, particularly when selling to Utd, then I'll have some of what you're smoking please. Its not as if the owners are popular among their fanbase as it is.

I can't see us signing him. If he was at the end of his contract he might be worth a punt, but not for a big fee.

Yeah, that has pretty much confirmed we're after him. £50M (if true) would be ridiculous for a 29 year old. We're probably not even going to get that much when we sell 22-year-old Martial.

Yes I completely agree. The news that Jose is at the Tivoli Stadion watching Austria v Russia, doesn’t do anything to reassure me though!

Has it feck, it's not like he's a player that needs scouting Mourinho had him at Inter and sees him every week in the PL

Could be watching any player to be fair. Or maybe he’s just there because he will be working for Russian TV during the World Cup.

Mourinho watching him is completely meaninglesst. It's not as if the scouting work hasn't been done already and Mourinho is not gonna be negotiating with his agent either.
