Day 4: Costa Rica vs Serbia, Germany vs Mexico , Brazil vs Switzerland

Hirving Lozano is really stepping up to the occasion, what a fantastic player. Mexico look really lively as well and could potentially get a good result in this fixture

So Neuer has been injured all season and is suddenly fit enough to play in the WC.

103 caps for Chicharito.
And 49 goals. Last year he became Mexico's top goalscorer ever. What's more remarkable is that he was close to that record after just 4-5 years in the national team.

Liked how the ref pushed Kroos back at arms length just then.

Germany has too many quality players. Why is no big team looking at signing Timo Werner? He looks like he will thrive in the PL.

Fair feck to referee for that situation. It's not Real Madrid that you can act like that and get free kick from every situation.

There was a lot of entitlement in that handball by Kroos. Should have been booked.

Shaky start for Germany.
They're lacking a holding mid, someone to control. Khedira has always been loose positionally, kroos isnt a defensive mid.... leaves them very open to counters when they still try to control possession.

We should really be going all out for Boateng. Fantastic on the ball and the calming influence we could do with in our back line.

Just 3 Germans in the box for the corner  Very scared of Mexico's counterattack?

In theory, against Germany, Mexico should park 2 buses and sit back with the odd counterattack.
But nope, like those crazy Mexican boxers, they’re going to walk into the punches and try to punch back.

Actually I predicted it. That's because Osorio (the Mexican coach) tends to arrange his teams to play offensively regardless whether the opponents are powerhouses or not.
