I am not talking about changing the whole immigration system in one go, but surely stealing children from their parents should have received a much harsher response from the american people.
To be fair, there are a lot of people who are against it, but it’s hard to give a properly hard response when around half the country blame the parents of these children.

No joke, no matter how many of these stories come out, a lot of people say that it’s the parents fault for trying to sneak in to the country.

I’ve said it before, but what really confuses me about America is the absolute lack of any kind of care whatsoever for your fellow humans. I’m yet to really see it demonstrated anywhere else as bad as it is in these conservative American types.

What do you expect when their supposed superiority is banged into their heads since early age. God's country and all that.

Where was the guy who used to be ranting in here about how the people that work for ICE were just people “doing their job” and not necessarily bad people.

Man, as far as I’m concerned, everyone at that organization is absolute scum. You don’t even need to read further than the tweets posted on this page to know that. How can you possibly work there, knowing these things go on, and then go home and try to act normal? You can’t possibly be a normal functioning human if you lack empathy to that extent.
So every cop is a bad person?

I don’t believe I said anything about police did I? Every field agent, as well as all the people who work in these centers who are complicit with these going’s on, yes I can safely say they are all bad people.

At the very least they have a dangerous lack of empathy to be able to continue in this line of work.

Even with the divide, I think huge protests should take place because of this. I watch CNN almost everyday and I haven't seem much, a few politicians complaining, journalists outraged but not much else. This should take people en masse to the streets.

Oh I agree that the people who are against it should be doing more, albeit we can’t expect people to leave work everyday to protest this, but I agree there’s barely been any kind of protesting at all. Alas those of us on the outside can only watch and marvel at the “greatest country in the world”

I've met some lovely Americans and it is an absolutely amazing country in many ways.

But America is the only country in the world in which I've met a sizeable number of people who believe that bad things that befall people are pretty much always their own fault.

Being homeless, being poor, having your kid taken away from you, not being able to have health insurance, having a crap education etc etc.

Not saying that I don't hear those views from citizens of other countries, of course I do, but not with the same regularity with which I hear it from Americans.

Often on the republican end of the spectrum.

That video of the kid meeting his dad again is heart breaking. That child has undergone some deep psychological trauma. If I saw that child in a healthcare setting, alarm bells would immediately be ringing in my head and I'd be seriously digging into whether they had a good environment at home or whether they were being neglected/ abused.

Every person that eats meat is a bad person because the meat industry treats animals like shit? I don't think so. Most of the ICE are not field agents and lots don't see exactly what is going on but just a part of the chain. Some they do/know little and decide to ignore the fact like meatlovers (as me) do.

Not everything is black or white and the majority of people are good but they might be ignorant or scared

On all the different trips I’ve made to America, I’ve met absolutely wonderful people in every state. The only time they seemed a bit off would be when we reached the topic of guns, but other than that they were all great. Makes me wonder if these same people simply hide these kinds of views, or if I’m simply meeting the better folks in the bunch.

You’ve captured it better than me there, they think whatever happens is your own fault, which doesn’t make much sense to me as a world view, but there you go.

Well, every society is educated differently. US, mainland of the capitalistic views makes sense that they have an individualistic views while socialist leaning countries more collective and therefore more emphatic

Just because they’re educated that way doesn’t mean it’s a healthy outlook. There’s one first world country where getting cancer sends you bankrupt, and that’s America. If that doesn’t signal to you that there’s something very broken in a country then nothing will.

I mean I live in a third world country FFS and that will never happen to someone here.

This was my point and why I used the police. Don't think anyone can argue that ICE haven't committed awful acts.

I agree with you...under my point of view that I share with you. Under their point of view is the healthy one. Survival of the fittest. Is just how reality(ies) is (are)

fecking gestapo
Sickening.
The scary thing is, you can't say for sure they were ICE, no Uniform, No ID?
It's obvious that at some point there will be groups going around impersonating ICE..
Radical changes are needed in America, all this wasn't caused by Trump being Trump. He's just emboldened all the evil cnuts and normalised it.

These deportations of people who have stable and productive lives just squashes all arguments that people use saying they don't want criminals or moochers. No, they just don't want people who aren't white enough.

I read a bout a women a couple of weeks ago who was in the process of being deported after voluntarily showing up to pay a traffic fine. I mean, if someone who voluntarily shows up to pay a fine isn't a model citizen, I don't know what is.

Is this what America wants, what Americans want?
Not this American. The left needs to align to get as many ‘Ds’ elected this November & in 2020 We simply cannot feck up this November. This is the most important election in ‘modern’ America (since WWII), potentially the most impactful election of all time.

The Trump administration is now trying to remodel legal immigration into America. You are spot on with the ‘not white enough’ comment.

No. Not the left. People. Good people. No left. No right. Just people that want to do the right thing.

I would love to see that, but, it falls on the left’s shoulders in November as Teump has his base locked down & if there are any issues in our side that causes any rifts of significance, we run the risk of not being in control of anything for another two years.

I have said it before in this thread, fecked up shit like this is the logical consequence of stripping immigrants of rights and sometimes even their identity. They are no one, and that makes them perfect victims for rapey bastards. I bet my left ass cheek that already people have been abducted from the border KZs camps into sex slavery.

There have been reports of this for years, ICE didn't need the current soulless regime to give children to sex traffickers. There are also a lot of reports of ICE agents raping children in these camps with impunity. They're not an immigration law enforcement agency as much as they are an immigrant abusing agency.

Are ICE agents federal employees or outsourced?

I was watching that video earlier where the guys wouldn’t show their ID badges. I mean the he FBI wear special jackets and badges but these guys looked like a couple of good old boys
