He's insanely good and we are lucky to have him. Honestly hes so much better than our next best player.

He does have faults but the 'does not take game by scruff of the neck' crowd need to settle down. Pogba a the only player in the world expected to dominate offensively, defensively and physically. He has a huge burden no player in the world holds.

He needs more quality around him. He just won a world cup for gods sakes.

He is United's best player since prime Rooney and Ronaldo. Enjoy.
I like Pogba a lot, but you are forgetting about RVP in 2012-2013. Pogba hasn't eclipsed that as of now.

Well that’s a pretty bad quote isn’t it? That’s a bit worrying.
When I first saw it, I thought the same. However I later saw this interview:

“It's not a role you have to do. I think with everybody, all the players, all the team-mates, make you comfortable to wear this and proud to wear this. Even like when Michael Carrick came to talk to me and told me he wanted me to wear it because of the story of what I give to the club, to the people, to the fans, to the young players in the Academy. Stuff like that - they look up to me. I want to give back to them and always try my best to be thankful to the fans and to my team-mates.”
I'm wondering if his tweets were just an extract from this interview with mutv

Yeah I hope it was just poorly worded, he probably meant different.

Pogba is my favourite player so i'd be gutted if he left. The guy is world class and for all the moaners we'd be SO SO much worse without him.

Not enough money in Barcelona. They valued Dembele at 135mill including all bonuses, that should put Pogba in the 250mill bracket.

I don’t know how anyone can think that tweet (and subsequent same Instagram post) is a good thing? He actually speaks very good English so I don’t think that’s much of an excuse either.

If you couple the tweet with the fact he did not celebrate his goal then I think it’s clear something is not right.

I do think he’ll stay for the season though and give us his best year here which will at least mean he’ll go for a massive fee in the summer

When will people realise that football players don't run their own social media accounts.

To who though? It would take a world record bid and even then only if he kicks up a fuss. I don’t see Barca tabling a £200m+ offer, I reckon we’d reject £150m without a second thought. If Madrid have a crap season maybe them but I actually think it’s more likely he signs a new mega deal at this stage regardless of the press speculation.

An Italian guy living in Manchester.
It was telling that José made Pogba his skipper in the absence of the injured Valencia, after all the speculation that the He is unhappy and wants to leave.

Mourinho got it right. Pogba responded with a strong all-round performance, as well as scoring the opening goal after what I have to say was a very strange run-up for his penalty.

Jose is the type of manager who gives someone the captaincy for the right reasons and I think he decided to give Pogba some responsibility for managing the game and the players around him, which was a very clever move.

Deserves massive credit for the performance he put in with 4 days training.

Yet all people seem to care about is his hair.

The best thing he could do is get rid of that leech of an agent, then knuckle down and work his arse off. The talent is unquestionable, but the application hasn't been there at times. He could become one of the very best if he really focuses and puts his mind to it.

Loved his reply when asked about Shaw. Reporter tried to joke about Shaw's shite goal celebration but Pogba ignored that and replied with loads of praise for Shaw's game.

He is an absolute Diamond and with Alexis being poor for us we only have two diamonds in Pogba and De Gea.

If Pogba is questioning the club's ambition he has every right too.

If there are any problems between Jose and Pogba they need to be mended for the sake of our season. Although between the captaincy, Paul's performance and Josés comments you would hope it is already in the mend

I liked him putting Sanchez in his place when the penalty came. Thing is Sanchez's a bit of a pussyeh, don t think he took it well tbh.

What I liked about our midfield was the desire to stick a foot in and the desire to chase the man after losing the ball, that little bit of umf. I didn t see that for a long long time.

Dunno if I m overreacting but it seemed that Fred, Andreas, Paul and, at times Luke and Darmian, would go through a brick wall for Jose, that s what I like to see. Last year we didn t have that at all. Was it due to Pogs being captain and motivating the players around him, dunno but there was some sort of positive vibe among them.

He's on De Gea's Instagram this morning dancing in the car with Lindelof and Dave, surely he's gonna hand in that transfer request to Barca anytime now given how miserable he is at United...

Sky Sports are reporting a new interview with quotes where he says “like I say, I’ll always do my best for the fans, my team mates and people that trust me” and emphasised the trust part twice during the interview.

Now I have no idea if that’s true or not because in the post match interview on Sky Sports he never said anything like that......they also reference the tweet as an additional message so they aren’t misquoting that either.

He didn't put anyone in their place LOL. They had a normal discussion on who will take the pen, it was played and that' all. Both players got over it as it's a non issue and Pogba said that post match. Way of creating unnecessary tension between 2 teammates huh ?

He speaks very well mediawise, and seems at ease with the captain role. Much better than Rooney going 'erm, erm'

Anyone but Rashford
When I first saw it, I thought the same. However I later saw this interview:

My personal opinion is that there's friction between him and Jose/United going back to the Alexis signing. All of the following happened within a very short period of time:
  • Alexis is signed
  • Pogba subbed off in a big game (any game?) for the first time (Alexis' debut)
  • Pogba is dropped for the first time (The very next game)
  • Mino Raiola offers him to Manchester City (not sure when this happened)
  • Pogba on the bench for CL knockout games
I have no idea what's going on so it's all personal speculation but for me it all turned around that time - Pogba's form, his demeanour and Jose's comments about him. He defended him to the death before then, even calling out Scholes. Yet something changed and I still don't think all is well. Mourinho seems to be trying to appease him now though - He'll know that he needs Pogba onside for this team to stay together.

Perhaps 3rd, as he's fluent in Spanish too. Not sure about his Italian. I suspect it's just as good as his English atleast. English may just be his 4th language :houllier:
Us Brits really are ignorant when it comes to languages! :D imagine speaking 4. I barely speak 1

He'll always give his best to those that trust him..

So JM trusting him to play and giving him the armband meant something.

He's just letting us, and the boss, know he can be trusted and will always give it his all.

Positive comment really

Some weird quotes coming from him from some interviews he’s obviously given. It is just on Twitter at the moment so could well be fake.

The quotes about “if I said what I want to I would be fined” right? Just saw them as well.

Was hoping someone on here might have some idea of the context they were said in.

Looks like the quote is real.

Doesn't he even understand that these quotes fuel the media and create more melodrama than the club actually already has ? Love him, but he really, really needs to either shut up or get someone else to talk on behalf of him.

Shame this has come out after Mourinho gave him the captaincy and praised him on Friday night. Just raises the temperature again after it looked as though it was being lowered. The media will love this. They have their story for the next week now.

Oh well, at least we had one day to enjoy the win against Leicester before the media circus started up again.

Next press conference, Pogba should go full Cantona.

'When the seagulls follow the trawl, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.'

It's not really in Pogba's habit to stoke the media flames, but I guess he's learned that from his manager. It's kind of ironic that Mourinho is finally trying to not be a cnut in front of the media and Pogba just dialed it up to 11 after being made captain and winning their first game.

Reading the full transcript it's obviously in response to Jose's comments on Pogba winning the Worl Cup. It seems Pogba is saying 'if you trust me, this is the result'

It's a shame Pogba hasn't just let it go, however it was moronic and completely unnecessary of Jose to say what he said.

This all said Pogba agreed to play after only four days training, gave a captains performance. Hopefully through the season the two can build a relationship.

Really think the board have had strong words with Jose about throwing players under the bus. Attitudes changed completely since the Liverpool pre season game. Before that he was laying into almost everyone and everything
