United pretty on top in terms of chances but the rest of the stats are more even.

Lukaku has to score that chance.

Any thoughts on Shaw, seems to me he is a decent player who has been treated badly by Jose. In my opinion he has the potential to be a very good player.

Now I know what it felt like to be a Liverpool fan in the 90's and 00's

Thought we played some decent stuff first half. Lack of a natural goal scorer will hurt us though. Think Kane would have buried the Lukuka chances, Sánchez too probably.

pretty standard performance, a bit of running and pressing and people were gassed about that first half, i guess its more reflection of where we are these days, but yeah, getting peppered by spurs now

Players need to work on the positioning when in the opposing side. Lukaku is just ball watching rather then trying to be in a position that he can actually score from. He's either too close to the gk or is too far away from the box to realistically place. Same for pogba, he's outside the box just waiting for the ball just to shoot which is good. But he could move over a bit more rather then trying to shoot at a hard angle.

It's clear the team is with Mourinho. Mou was desperate for a CB and with every passing game his CBs are doing their best to prove him right

If we’d taken our chances first half this wouldn’t have happened. Yes, we need another CB - but also someone who knows where the onion bag is!

Crazy that they'll be behind you in the table if this stays the same.
At least we can use new manager and transition period as excuse and ignore the fact that Chelsea is under the same situation and won the first 3 games.

Utd fans shouldn't be calling for Mou's head after this game. Played really well looking dangerous and the game could've gone the other way hasn't it been for horrible finishing. Scoreline was way too high

That's the worst thing of all. United didn't play badly, actually were the better team for most of the game. And they're losing 3-0 at home

We haven’t played well. Mourinho’s bottled it and tried to play attacking football but can’t organise a defence in this style to save his life. The players have zero clue what they’re supposed to be doing as a defensive unit. Add to that he’s destroyed the confidence of his defenders by basically saying in public they weren’t good enough this summer.

He needs to go.

Compared with Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal (Premier League, August 2011) this is nothing.

I don't agree. This has been one of your best games since probably the Liverpool win and you completely lost the plot after a corner and that follow up goal. Before that you were the better team and the players (bar Pogba) were working their asses off. There have been a lot worse games under him (e.g. last week's loss) than this one, despite of the scoreline.

Well, the worst thing is that United looked good and the better team until Tottenham went up, then they completely collapsed. That's what usually Arsenal do, not United.

A game of two halves, I think Jose’s tactics totally bambozaled is. We were there for the taking, second half was more conclusive.

As much as I hate Spurs, you don't see United take a beating at home often.

United's defence was a shambles.

Spurs will be right in the mix this season. Will be an interesting game at Wembley in a couple of weeks.

United actually looked good in the first half, showing intensity which Spurs couldn't handle. All of the 3 goals were due to individual errors mostly.
I kind of feel for Mourinho. He for once tried to show something other than bus-parking and got punished for that. Maybe there's a reason why United cannot play like some attacking sides do, actually the one Mourinho identified but Woodward failed to address.

That was an incredibly strange game.

We were awful first half. So, so sloppy, Rose looked an absolute mess and should have gifted Lukaku a goal. You didn't create much but we looked out of sorts and I was very worried it was another 'meh' performance at OT.

Second half started relatively similarly, but then Kane (hero) scored and yeah, you just collapsed. You could see the panic, United didn't react like teams of old, you could sense the fear.

Lucas was so, so good. United defence couldn't handle his speed, couldn't handle his agility, just such a weapon in these sorts of games where he gets space to break in to. He could be a crucial cog we've been missing if he keeps this up, his speed combined with that low centre of gravity is what we've been missing since Aaron Lennon. He was actually bloody clinical today as well.

3-0 is very harsh on United, no doubt, you do get the sense that it's a self-inflicted defeat. Should have led first half, second half they were practically handing us chances. I don't think we played all that brilliantly at all, some great individual performances from Lucas and Toby though, so to come away with a 3-0 is surprising.

I didn't at all buy the dressing room turning against Jose narrative. I'm not sure I do still, first half United players did look like they wanted it and had something to prove. I honestly think some of the players just couldn't handle the pressure of the game, I'm really not sure how much of it you can put on the manager .. though Herrera at CB was a bizarre decision. It's strange though to see so many Manchester United players who disappear/cack themselves when they're a goal down and fail to take those key chances. I think if Lukaku scores it's a totally different game and very feasible you grind out a win.
