Condolences to VP & the gang. Thanks for the Europa, other than that it was shite.
I wanted him sacked since Palace.

Anyway cheers Jose for seasons 1 and 2. Brought us 2 cups, 3 cup finals and some character in the squad. It was the right time to go, obviously.

What's the odds for Woodward taking a crack at it for a few months?

We need a young, positive spirit who can bring the joy of playing beautiful attacking football back to the boys. Believe it or not, our squad is very good (yes, even Lukaku is a world-class striker) - we need someone who gives them their confidence back, playing attack attack attack and not shi*ing his pants. Season is also broken, nothing much to lose - take the chance and make the best out of it by winning back the squad and fans.

Curious how the interim guy will be, hopefully not Carrick and hopefully not an old dinosaur like Wenger who will go for the save option.

Two of those players were Jose signings and the others were inexplicably picked by him whenever possible. The new manager doesnt have to make them good players, he just doesnt need to play them.
Fellaini was out of the door and Mourinho fought for his renewal...

Because it was never going to get better under Mourinho. It was a hopeless situation the sacking gives people hope again.

We need to go all out for him. I don't know how much he would cost, but just pay it.

Fully agree with Neville's assessment of him just now on SSN.
Of course we should, which is why we won't.

You don’t have to get under the sheets and hug him ffs, just support the guy.
I'll always support our manager as long as I feel he deserves the support.

I just don't think Pochettino is a winner. And I know he's not won yet and he's not been at a 'top club', but I just don't think he'll be a winner either.

Reckon he knew he was gone before the post match presser after the Liverpool game. He was defending himself like a man on the ropes, saying he inherited injury prone players, his players lacked physicality, intensity, and that his players played to the best of their ability and he couldn't be disappointed bla bla bla. Then going on about his Porto being mad dogs winning back possession and the different playing systems he implemented at RM, Inter and naming the players he'd worked with etc. I said in another thread he'd be gone before midweek. And now he is and thank feck för that!

It's only a stadium.
It's the next stage in the clubs development into a properly big club - Poch appears committed to see this through and will hardly want to leave the club, after all the work he has done, just before it makes that step.

We're in no worse a situation than when he joined and we got a 2nd place finish and europa cup out of it so there's that i suppose

Thanks for the 2 seasons, it was enjoyable. Thanks for EL and a good last season. Sadly, all came crushing down this year.
I wish him luck in his further career

Glad it's happened. That's the first decision the club have to make. Let's hope they get the rest right too.

A lot better than sacking Van Gaal a day after the FA Cup final.

I understand the sentiment that many are feeling right now. Happiness, relief, opportunistic, relaxed - what have you!

But, a thought just struck me, how in the name of feck did we turn into a bunch of fans who celebrate a mid-season sacking of our head coach? Given the situation we had been and all of that, yes, I agree, but even then, what is it with the mid-season sack that makes me want to unrelate to United for a second?
I guess when our fans stopped watching games and started making posts about how they don't watch games instead of watching games which they no longer had time to watch despite finding the time to make posts about how they don't have time to watch games.

There is absolutely no chance that Poch will leave Spurs just as the new stadium opens. He has been waiting for this for years now.
Not true. Opportunities like Utd don't come around often. He wouldn't leave mid season, but he would have no qualms leaving Spurs in the summer for a better club. Even in crisis Utd have won more in the past three years than spurs have in 30 years.

I’m glad that the board arent completely inept. Is this the first proactive thing they’ve done in the post Sir Alex era?

Hope Woody showed him his favorite 3 finger sign on the way out.

Sacked by a 3rd club in his career after Chelsea and Madrid.

Mid season sack implies we’re not doing well, which is never a good thing. Doesn’t mean we still shouldn’t be celebrating though in this case.

Just the reality of football. We think of ourselves as different to all the other clubs but, in truth, we are the same. Years and years of being spoilt under SAF made us forget that most managers fail and sacking coaches is common place.

We took too long on this one but I am completely fine about the decision.

It's a strong dose of humble pie for some sanctimonious supporters.

Man Utd are special to us but they are not special. They play by the same rules as everyone else.

Keeping managers beyond the point of no return is fecking stupid and thank christ we've not gone down that road this time.

Best news ever! This has made my day. The loss to Liverpool was a small price to pay.

I know you weren't the biggest fan of him but I completely agree with you there.

Also love how the media didn't have a fecking clue. SkySports until last night were reporting that we had no plans to sack him :lol:

Clueless feckwits.

Finally we can get some positivity into this club. Hope we recruit carefully seeing as the last three managers have been complete and utter duds.
Clearly the club learnt from the pre Newcastle debacle about keeping news of managerial sackings airtight. Can only be a good thing really.

From just reading this thread, I feel it could be Jardim. Don't think Zidane will be OK with taking over this mess

Blame the 3 managers we've had since SAF.

It's a joke how they've destroyed so much of his incredible work.
