FA Cup and Champions League to play for.Not opposed to Cantona. Season is a write-off anyway.
FA Cup and Champions League to play for.Not opposed to Cantona. Season is a write-off anyway.
People didn't think Di Matteo would win it with Chelsea. We're not winning it. Simple as. You have to be realistic.
Eric would stand just as good a chance in the FA cup as any manager we appoint. As for CL, dream on...FA Cup and Champions League to play for.
Same.I love Ole but the idea of him taking over doesnt enthrall me
Based on what?Eric would stand just as good a chance in the FA cup as any manager we appoint. As for CL, dream on...
Promising. I think we should also sign Allegri as assistant manager, he’ll be able to convince Ronaldo, Sandro and Dybala that Juventus are on the way down and we’ll be able to pick them up no problem. Maybe also get Klopp as a second assistant manager, and he can bring us Van Dijk.Nicky Butt is a more natural leader than Carrick. Butt does has temperament/high winning mentality, but still he is calm and grounded. The most balance guy of United players from the 90. He is composure. From what mine observing and feeling. No to Cantona, same as Keane. They will easily has conflict with players and will not handle it well. No too Giggs. No to Beckham, Scholes and Nevilles brothers. No to Hughes and Bruce.
The name and person that has point out the most is Nicky Butt. Butt became United academy leader, coaching United youth team in Uefa youth league. Playing attacking football and on the front foot. And in a interview he has said the team he is coaching, shall play on the front foot. Like City, Liverpool and Dortmund are doing. And Butt will definitive develop the same football philosophy with the first team.
And last of all. Lately he has work with the upcoming and promising talent like Gomes, Chong and those youth players. He knows they level and if they are ready. And if he take over first team, interim. He will know the level of the first team players and those promising young players.
Carrick just retire last season. Not a chance he will be United first team coach 19/20. Butt is more ready. And i do get a good feeling, Butt will do a good job until the end of the season and as a player. Nicky Butt was equal good in attack as defend. Again a most balance player. Same as Roy Keane. But Keane temperament will just easily has conflict with the players. You got to have a balance, grounded and composure personality. ANd those things give me the best feeling and from observing of the years. Nicky Butt is most suitable.
About Pochettino. Sorry, i did rate him really high and really like him. But lately he has become a rotating manager like Rafael Benitez at Liverpool. Never change a winning team and if a player is in form and not tired. I dont see the point of rotating. Like Davies and Rose. You dont play with players mind and confidence. Let the best players start every game, until they drop in form and doing poor. Ben Davies is a really really LB, and dont drop him until he is out of form. That is something i disagree with Pochettino and Rafael Benitez at Liverpool period. You shall find and know your best starting XI and stick with it. Why, if the player you rotate with is not on the same level or totally same full packet. Just like a wheel of cars. If you echange and rotate with a lesser poor wheel. It will affect the full pontential of a car. In football case, a full pontential of a team.
Same as Trippier and Sanchez for the right back postion for Spurs. Poch did last season, but not much this season so far. Clearly Trippier and Sanchez have big different when it come to qualities as a player. Trippier is knowing for his precise right foot and crosser, a factor that will helping Kane to score goals. And if Poch rotate with Sanchez. The quality of the crosser will not be the same and that will effect Kane score rate.
So if Poch keep rotating with the Spurs starting line up and squad, even they are winning and the players are in good form. Suddenly they found themselves on the bench, because of the rotating philosophy. If im a owner of one of the biggest club i will not appoint him. Dont play with the players mind, then you had to explain for the them and the squad, why are you rotating. Players deserve keep playing games, not on the bench here and there. Everyone shall play dont suit a club with players that always try to do their best. The best players shall always start. Do it simple.
And that is one of the reason why i think Poch is struggling to win premier league and some tips to Poch. Spurs shall try to get a world class CB and CM.
Im not satisfy with SPurs CB options and CM. Spurs have really good sideback, a top striker and really good Dele Alli on his best. But spurs for me, easily are missing a world class CB and CM to go all the way to win premier league. If Spurs have a CB like Van Dijk and Kante in cm. This level and quality of players. Then it will be a big big chance Spurs will win the league, not until that. City and Liverpool starting line up is better than Spurs, and result of that. If nothing changing. City and Liverpool will always be above of Spurs in the league in, in the end of the season.
Conclusion. Appoint Nicky Butt to the end of the season as caretaker. Follow how Favre of Dortmund, if Butt is not doing well. I hope and think Butt will doing well. Even i know Favre want his play to playing on the front foot and always try to dominate as much as possible. And Favre is good to coach and develop young players. Favre could be a option beside Nicky Butt.
I wrote mine recommendations before.
In short again. Solutions
Nicky Butt or Favre....then you have try to buy Axel Witsel and Sancho from Dortmund. Favre is in advantage, coz he is coaching those players right now. Its like Ocean Eleven. Pick up the call, convince them to join a winning team. Best players out there for those specific role, a specialist as rw or dictate cm player. You collect the all the best puzzles that make a big picture in the end. To reach the goal as a Unit. Because to win something. You dont only need a top quality manager and leader. You need a team like Ocean Eleven, the principle is the same with football. And like chess, you have to think few or more steps ahead. Not like getting a good manager then ask yourself what shall i do next.
Really good players to help the new manager.
Sancho - De Jong/Saul/Kante - Witsel - Martial. Just an example of a 4-4-2 formation
Dybala who i think i will end up as Barca to replace Messi in the future, that is why i dont suggest him ahead of Sancho for the new RW.
But Axel Witsel is a must.
De Jong might end up at Barca or City. Saul maybe play out his career with A.Madrid.
Then Kante from Chelsea. Then i will try to convince Kante. If he doesnt like to play as a RCM with Chelsea. Kante won premier league as one of the 2 cm players. Then i will convince Kante that i will use him in the same role as Leicester and the year Chelsea won premier leauge. Beside Witsel. But im not sure Chelsea will let him go to United.
Then it will be without Kante
Sancho - Witsel - Pobga - Martial or Sancho - De Jong/Saul - Witsel - Martial
But if you dont try, you will never know. With Sancho, Witsel and Kante/Saul/De Jong/Pobga you will rise chance to win premier league a lot
Alternative to 4-4-2 without Kante and still Pobga next season will be 4-3-3
Sancho - De Jong/Saul - Witsel - Pobga - Marital. There you have a really good 4-3-3 starting line.
If no De Jong and Saul too. Then Fred and Herrera could suit the RCM role.
Sancho - Fred/Herrera - Witsel - Pobga - Martial.
I think getting Witsel and Sancho is realistic.
Those are the options and alternatives out there. But if i dont get the best players out there, i might be patience and wait. Until i get the best for the specific roles. But again, i do feel and believe that Witsel, Sancho, Saul and De Jong have what it takes to help United, to win premier league again. They are not world class players, compare to world football history. Like Messi and Robben for RW and Makele, Toure or Lotthar Matthaus for cm options. Those world class levels are do not exist rigth now in football, but you have to catch and get them when they are young and upcoming. Like Ronaldo and Rooney. World class level. You have to get them really early.
I rate Witsel and Sancho really really high, but they are not on world class level. But i do think they are good enough to help United win matches alot and good enough to win premier league.
In the end. To be the best is not simple. Things relate to each others. And its not enough to mention Butt, Favre or Carrick as new manager. Without mention and suggest all others factors. And like luck and things go your way are really important factors too. Invisible factors. Dont
underestimate the factor luck. The bank of luck, when its running out. It not much you will achieve. I can promise you that. Just like in Poker. Even you have top poker skills. But sorry mate without luck in poker, football and everything in live. You are done or soon will be done. You have to mentions all the ingredients, all the factors and sides follow to the end result is success. Mention one factor, only a puzzle of a big picture is simply not good enough. That is why, when i first suggest something. Do it 100 % as best you can. To help 100 %. Then it has to be a long and details suggestion and article. Mention a manager, but not simply mention players for him too. Those 2 factors go hand in hand. Like Pep and Klopp will not win much with poor players. And its true fact. So suggest the players for United too. It get to be a long detail article, comment or whatever you call it.
I agree. Well said. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have appointed managers directly from being reserve team boss and in Barcelona's case, assistant manager too. The idea that a manager needs to have a certain CV is ridiculous. LVG and Mourinho have won titles across Europe yet were total failures here.
Why Blanc?Moyes wanted more time...
But seriously, let's not write off the season. Blanc is my choice.
He's the only one the media are talking about now. Not a done deal but a lot of noise about him.Have I missed something? Seems a lot of people are talking like OGS is a done deal but I can't see why?
Which bit?Based on what?
I take your point on winning, of course, but expectations for interim manager would be considerably lower given the circumstances, no? The players need to make allowances, as so do the coaching staff and fans alike.I agree with all of that and I am not against Ole. I'm just pointing that not performing for 6 months will have a negative effect on the players and the fan base, it's a little bit naive to say it's not about winning because players don't want to lose and unlike what some think, they care about it, it's the main driver of happiness and confidence.
Haha, my bad. Lazy by myself.Close enough.
Played for United, won many trophies so has the mentality of a winner, has coached before, seems to be a calm head. Why Blanc?
Cantons having a chance.Which bit?
Well, extraordinary luck such as that doesn't happen to United, especially nowPeople didn't think Di Matteo would win it with Chelsea.
Teams were after him but he got picky. There’s a reason why Blanc hasn’t had a job for 18 months. If he was decent and half decent teams would be after him?
The last United side that Queiroz picked. Defensive?Isn’t he a really, really defensive minded manager?
Fair enough. I prefer Ole myself though and its going to be him.Played for United, won many trophies so has the mentality of a winner, has coached before, seems to be a calm head.
Difference in quality in the two competitions, you can get a lucky draw to a final and a cup in the FA cup, not in the CL.Cantons having a chance.
Yeah but 18 months though, that’s an absolute age in football.Teams were after him but he got picky.
Lucky draw is one thing but he’d be seriously out of his depth.Difference in quality in the two competitions, you can get a lucky draw to a final and a cup in the FA cup, not in the CL.
Tell that to Chelsea.Difference in quality in the two competitions, you can get a lucky draw to a final and a cup in the FA cup, not in the CL.
Butt was moved to head of academy because he was an awful coach. At least that is what I remember at the time. He has done well in the new role. Could be wrong though, maybe someone with more knowledge of the academy can give insight.Nicky Butt is a more natural leader than Carrick. Butt does has temperament/high winning mentality, but still he is calm and grounded. The most balance guy of United players from the 90. He is composure. From what mine observing and feeling. 7 of the 11 are defenders or defensive midfielders to be fair. The last United side that Queiroz picked. Defensive?
He'd be a nice fit. Who else would agree for a 6 months job that also has experience at a top club? Why Blanc?
He admitted it himself and sees his decision as a mistake. He took a sabbatical and then didn't jump on the opportunities that were allegedly offered.Yeah but 18 months though, that’s an absolute age in football.
You have to question his motivations.
It'll happen once every now and then, but the all round quality and depth in the competition wasn't the same when they won it.Tell that to Chelsea.
I'm not going to lie. When asked if he would take the United job Eric said
"Of course," he said
"You would see wonderful football, for sure," he vowed.
You do realise Alex Ferguson was our manager right? The last United side that Queiroz picked. Defensive?
It’s a caretaker job. What? Why? So you are employing somebody but immediately assume they are not good enough.
Looking at that picture, I would say yes.The last United side that Queiroz picked. Defensive?
Fair enough. He admitted it himself and sees his decision as a mistake. He took a sabbatical and then didn't jump on the opportunities that were allegedly offered.
