Nathan for you is incredible. The very first section with the poo ice cream is a really bad choice to start the show though, it really doesn't reflect how good the show goes on to be. I wonder how many potential fans of it were lost because of them opening with that idea.

Just watched the netflix documentay Fyre about the fyre festival. Absolutely fascinating.
Me. I saw the first episode and was turned off. Never went back to it again. Might have to revisit now.

Does anyone know which language you have to set Netflix on so that you can watch Blackfish? I read about this show on Netflix on multiple websites yet it's not available when I set my settings to Dutch, English or Spanish.

Language settings have an effect on the content you see? I would have thought it's only your localization that matters, no?
Apparently they do, yes. For example, Harry Potter is not on Netflix if you have Dutch as language, because they didn't get the rights or something like that. If I change my settings to English, they're available on Netflix...

Figured it'd be the same with Blackfish but haven't found a language that works yet. Maybe it's simply taken down.

That's really weird, rights to content are negotiated based on territory, so I'm surprised that just changing your language has an impact (I thought Netflix were really careful about this and notably blocked VPNs for example).

Anyone watching Trigger Warning with Killer Mike, on Netflix?

Done by Killer Mike of Run the Jewels.
I’ve watched the first 2 episodes and I’m not sure if I should continue. The idea behind it is good, but you can see that he really struggles to try to shock and impress the audience and the episodes themselves are overextended — you lose some of the interested when it simply gets too repetitive.

It's on sky box sets-------recently added-------

All episodes are there.
Cheers but I'm with BT and thus cannot access SKY TV without a subscription. I'm sure some devious lawbreakers will try to make this available on one of those wretched torrent sites, which of course I'll be reporting to the relevant authorities. Thanks anyway :)

Finally got around to watching season 3 of The Expanse, brother imported it for me for Christmas, a show not helped by poor distribution and rights issues in Europe/Uk.

Good season but pacing issues. First half is an excellent wrap up of the events of season 2. The second half I think had outstanding potential but cramming it into half a season, especially when you are introducing a slew of new characters/POVs didn't really allow it to hit the heights it could have. Have to wonder if the threat of cancellation altered time scales? Anyone else think that the CGI dropped a level as well? Hope that Amazon back it and allow the creators the resources to make the best show they can. We lack exceptional sci-fi , much of the stuff on the various streaming services is just mediocre filler and the genre has such potential for interesting story telling.

12 Monkeys final season – calling anyone who watched e.g.:@SwansonsTache I need help :wenger:

Half way through S04E08 and it's like watching United under Mourinho … losing at home, to Cardiff … on a bad stream, that's lagging, we need to score a goal to snatch a draw, and he's taking off Rashford … for McTomminay.

I've only got to see 10 more minutes of this episode out and then suffer two more episodes, but … I find my mind wondering!

I want to see it out. I feel I've watched worse and seen it through before! Maybe it's that I'm just older now and my time seems more valuable. So, my question is: for another 2 hours … is it worth it?

I’m just sitting and staring at both Prime and Netflix and I just don’t fancy anything.

I’ve watched all the obvious stuff before like The Wire, Sopranos, 6 Feet Under, 24, Stranger Things, True Detective, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Billions, Band of Brothers...

I’m dying for something new to get my teeth into.

Barry sounds good. I might get that. Anything that I need to watch? It doesn’t have to be on Netflix or Prime.

A Korean show set in like medieval times with zombies. I've watched the first few episodes and it's quite good. It seems to have completely abandoned any sort of political machinations in favour of zombies. Lots and lots of zombies. I dunno how historically accurate it is, people wear odd headgear, they seem to have what look like cheap katana's and I'm not sure if Korea ever had a zombie apocalypse.

It's on Netflix. It's not Train to Busan, but I'm enjoying it.

Went back and re-watched from S04E05 and if you really concentrate the time-lines do actually make sense. Even if they have taken some liberties with the "whys" the "whens" seem to at least add up.

My mind had obviously started wandering a lot earlier than I realised.

I read that they aired the last series over 3 or 4 nights in sets of 3 – that is probably the best way to view it too. Glad I finished it though.

Now … what to watch next???

Watching now the second season of Good Doctor. Not a fan of medical shows but I like this one.
I start watching "night flyers".
It seems a mixture between terror and science fiction, good so far.
I also started "salvation", about a meteorite that is going to fall on the earth.Nothing special so far

Russian Doll isn't bad. I would've preferred a darker version though, it had some potential.

The original story with that premise (live action at least) was very dark and bleak.

Watched first episode of Russian Doll, off-putting a bit, the style, the dialogue,...just 8 short episodes, will continue.

Loved this. Hope they come up with the second season soon. Not as critically good as some of the zombie tv contemporaries, but a good binge watch show.

I've got one episode left, I've been trying not to just binge through it. So far it absolutely shits on The Walking Dead. They don't arse about with stupid people mumbling strange moral quandries or randomly change the rules. They just unleash zombies and get on with it.

If you've not seen it then I highly recommend Train to Busan. Brilliant zombie film also set in Korea, them Koreans don't feck about when it comes to zombies.

Yeah seen that and like it too. The medieval setting is nice and refreshing to this zombie setting too.

I've mentioned it before here but check out The Break/La Treve (Belgian crime show on Netflix). The second series was released on Friday.

Also, this isn't a film recommendation thread but while I'm at it, watch Invisible Guest. It's a Spanish film, also a murder mystery. Give it a chance and watch to the end.

Ignored everyone and watched Fargo instead

Just got Netflix through SKY here in Germany and binged series one in a day.

Started series two and, two in, it already seems much better (a bit more serious but good for it) the long scenic, cinematic, wide-angle shots and the seemingly unrelated flash-backs and episode lead in's remind me hugely of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul … but Fargo is paced perfectly compared to the latter imo.

Finished Russian Doll yesterday, the lead, she really gets on my nerves and is pretty much the same character in everything she does but once It gets going it’s quite intresting, certainly worth a watch.

After endlessly re-watching the first three seasons every year since maybe 2012, I've finally bitten the bullet and made an effort to re-watch the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons of Community. I saw the fourth season once through in 2013, then the fifth season once through in 2014, but then never did the sixth season (too much had changed and I wasn't completely comfortable). Recently my girlfriend and I caught up with Jane the Virgin (not the best show in the world but it's good, pulpy, lighthearted fun that never gets too complicated) so I tried the first few episodes of Community on her. She loved it and we ended up finishing the entire first season in four days - she's pressed on with the second and third seasons without me. I've seen those first three seasons a million times now so I'm leaving her to it.

I've jumped ahead and started re-watching from season 4 - and I have to say, as much as the quality isn't on the same level as it was Dan Harmon's original run as creator, the "gas leak season" criticisms feel way overblown. No, it's not as sharp with the character dynamics or as incisive on the jokes front, and each episode has trouble expressing and articulating its themes and its heartfelt moments (and Chevy Chase has clearly lost interest), but I'll be damned if it isn't still enjoyable. The weakest episode thus far, 'Alternative History of the German Invasion', wasn't that funny and made some clumsy decisions to give itself an overarching theme, but the premiere was a solid episode, the haunted house concept of the second episode really worked on me, the Inspector Spacetime convention episode was tremendous fun, 'Intro to Felt Surrogacy' is fun too! It's not as good as it was but it's still... good?
