Nobody, nobody on the pitch was claiming that as handball. Nobody. VAR ref slows it right down sees a minor movement of the arm to the ball and then asks the ref to look at it. We saw in the World Cup that the moment the ref is asked to look at it again he’s got it in his head that he’s made a mistake (otherwise they wouldn’t be asking him to take another look) he sees the slowed down version as well, and gives it.

At no point did they run that at anything close to full speed to see whether he reacted by moving his arm. It supposed to be clear and obvious and there was enough doubt there as to whether that was anyway intentional, or even whether he “made himself bigger”. It was marginal. Had the ref on the field given it then it’s a different story, but he’s overturned his original decision of a corner based on a slo-mo replay. I don’t think that’s right.

2456 posts how that is not penalty. What a deluded group of people. One guy said that Ole convinced ref. Bloody fecking hell

That can't be handball surely?
Turning off. Inevitable.
He'll hardly give a penalty for that
They're giving this
for fecks sake
You can't give it for that, you just can't
That’s corrupt, no other explanation
jammy c*nts
The most crooked thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
NO fecking way
You couldn't make it up

That's not a pen in a million years
Laughable. Fcuk VAR
That can't be handball surely?

I can't believe they're still harping on about Ole being a mediocre manager and an underwhelming appointment for the permanent job. At this rate he'll get the job, win a CL and a league or two and they'll still be saying that it's just a matter of time until the new manager bounce wears off. I guess identifying managerial quality isn't really their forte though, considering the continued deification of the Rafa despite all evidence pointing towards him actually being a bit shite.

On the flip side, you can be absolutely sure that they would be writing poems and manning the online polls en masse if a former player of theirs like Hyypiä or whatever had been appointed caretaker and performed even half as well as Ole has.

Well that was really shit.
Oh, there's a Michael Jackson documentary on Channel 4. That might cheer me up.

I can't believe anyone still thinks Ole is just fluking it

We're well beyond the Di Matteo type bounce now

The fan base who's side has benefited the most of any in Europe this season is crying over a debatable call? I'm shocked. I don't suppose anything was said about Kimbepe avoiding a red in the first leg at 0-0?

We were playing a club built on oil money and dodgy deals, yet we're the corrupt ones because VAR showed the ball hit a PSG players arm.

He's done well. He'll probably do well next season as well, as in finish 4th and maybe nick a cup.

Can't see him getting them close to winning the League again, though. I'm not worried about them appointing him.

I'm totally convinced they will win it. 20th anniversary of 1999's jammy win. Already done a "Turnaround in Turin" and a last gasp winner today with the spawny Goblin in charge. It's written in the stars. A four Grand windfall for me on June 1st might go some way to softening the blow but it will be nauseating beyond belief if they win it.
Let’s help the dipper hit paydirt

I take it as a compliment if they’re attributing ‘Mr Ferguson’ for this victory. It means we’re at least pretty decent again.

United will get Porto
Do you think they have any chance of winning the CL?
The best team in Europe doesn't always win the Champions league, so yes, they could win it. Especially if they continue to get the sort of luck they did tonight.
City's next opponents will be Porto then
One of the 2 Manchester teams for sure
Put your house on it
This is fantastic - so funny he’s going to get the job:

Man Utd under Solskjaer

Goals 39
Expected Goals 29.8

Goals Conceded 13
Expected Goals Against 21.3

Games played 17
Penalties won 7
To be fair his away record is:

WWWWWWWWW

Goals: 23
Conceded: 4
Clean sheets: 5

VAR or no VAR that was a terrible PSG performance when considering how bad Man Utd played. They only have themselves to blame that it came down to the ref, they should have curb stomped them and that they didn't and had to depend on a refs decision to advance is only their own fault. Just thinking about the penalties that were given against LFC vs. Roma last year, it's just a coin flip when the play on the field wasn't. Again not VAR's problem.
Feels like a very, very long time ago when the draw was made and United was imploding under Mourinho.
If and its a big IF we go through. We'll get an English club. Probably Spurs. And the two Manchester clubs will get either Porto or Ajax.
So that's Mourinho to PSG or Real Madrid sorted for next season.
Hope so because that would get Messi.
Knowing their luck, Messi would be injured and out of both legs... Just like they had with Neymar (& Cavani mainly)
I was hoping Man Utd went out so they’d be fresh to face Man City next month. They’ll now have 2 legs and may end up prioritising the champions league
Exactly, another reason why I didn't want them going through.
They’re in a battle for 4th, so hopefully they’ll be up for it. They should be anyway seeing as it’s a derby.

It's amazing that they're calling us corrupt and spawny now.

We're back.

Not like Liverpool back... well, because we actually won things while we were away.

Mind the gap, indeed.

I really don't get all this "I'm not worried" "delighted that PSG are out" etc. This is the worst possible result for us.
1. Why on earth would any Liverpool supporter prefer a Man Utd win? They historically our biggest rivals, not PSG.
2. A Liverpool v Utd quarter final would be unbearable. Toxic even. It wouldn't suit our league pursuit either.
3. Man Utd now are still in the CL, instead of being out.
4. Man Utd now have another game/distraction before they play city in the league. Less focused perhaps, or an excuse to leave players out.
It really is the worst possible outcome fun tonight's game. I couldn't give a sh*t about PSG winning anything. I do with Man Utd.
We're hardly thought of as world beaters.
We reached a Champion's League Final last season...
...and lost to the first decent side we played
Neymar will probably get into some bother for his comments on Instagram

“This is a disgrace, they put 4 people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR. There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go f**k yourselves!”
Spoilt man-baby throwing his toys out the pram for the whole world to see.
He may be right, but is one hell of a bell end that boy, done himself no favours there at all.
He should go to Inter, he'd get on really well with Icardi.
But he is right like

Utd third favourites 15/2 with some bookies
Because city liverpool Barca Munich Atletico Juve are still taking part in rd16
Just to the people saying united are winning it

To recap uniteds goals

Backpass
Buffon spill
Penalty (never given before VAR)
I always want United to get beat but on this occasion it may not be too bad (assuming we can get through), I'd rather play United than any other team (Spawniness excepted) and PSG, with revenge in mind, would have been a tough gig. That said, this only works if we avoid getting beat next week.

I'd love City and United to get drawn together in the QF, that really would draw some energy and focus out of City.
Don't bother diving, just aim the ball at the arm
It will be the new tactic next season once VAR is here then the authorities will have a decision to make.

which one of you is this one?
Quarters will PROBABLY (most likely) be this ....

Barca
City
Atletico
Bayern
United
Spurs
Porto
Ajax
So you don't even think we'll qualify.
That's terrifying, Barca are the only team I'd make Utd underdogs against and you just know something would happen to Messi before the tie.

I honestly think City would choke against Utd over two legs.

Atletico are awkward but don't score enough while Bayern aren't a patch on the team they were even two seasons ago.

Utd would beat everyone else.

We need to get past Bayern then, we're one of the few teams that could stop them, but away to Bayern is a tough ask.
Lol at untied being favourites for anyone but Barca. Pure fishing.

It’s amazing how some are saying OGS has had a super lucky three months or so. Yes the man who had 4 injuries in one half of football is super lucky :houllier:

"Gollum may have won 23 leagues and 8 Champions Leagues, but his xG and his xA say he actually should have finished outside the top 4 on the APLT in 2049-50. This new manager bounce is fookin' ridicchhulous liche. He'll get found out next season. It's our fookin' year then, la!"

Instead of getting that bitter, they better hope it won't be very "windy" at Allianz Arena next week if they want to progress.:lol:

Better squad? Are you suffering from some form of illness mate? Their keeper, pogba, rash and Lukaku are the only ones getting anywhere near our squad and they'd all be subs bar pogba. Give your head a wobble.
A shame they flogged Fellaini off to China. They could have had Screech and Chong in midfield.
