Late on Fletcher train. Late almost for Jesse train.

Day 1 for Scott. So happy when you see something and others don't see it immediately and time goes on and now they see it and yet it's not so different.

Every post saying " now he does this, now he does that " are utter impatient people who just didn't find what he did before " sexy " enough.

Great lad. Gonna be very good.

What a performance by him. He should keep his spot in the first team after this.

There are many many people here who argued positively that mourinho was playing him solely to make a point, one poster even argued it was sad for McTominay to be used as a pawn. Was disrespect of the highest and typical to not give players a chance,

That was a MOM performance, hopefully he keeps improving

Can't believe how composed he was today. Did not understand at all what Mourinho saw in him but he properly established himself today
He has great mentality for young player. It seems like nothing can make him nervous. Against Liverpool or PSG, he just played his game without nervousness you often see in young inexperience player.

Been defending him for ages. Player loved by sir Alex, OGS and Mourinho.... a guy known to never ever play youngsters for the sake of it.... ever yet many fans who’d never seen him play more than a few games proclaimed he was not even premier league standard.

Hope he goes on from this run in the team, still very raw in certain situations, but wasn't phased by anything out there tonight. Played some very astute passes at times, but mostly played it simple, and was always looking for the return. Think he has a future here.

Always good when a player shoves some humble pie down your throat. Keep it up and you might just be here for a while.

Superb performance again, he's got so much energy and presence, his pressing was awesome. I felt he was a little hard done by giving away so many fouls with their lightweight diving midfield, and he showed real maturity in possession. Really, really impressed since he's come into the side.

Well done kid!

He's impresses me. I know people like to crush him because they say he only plays simple sideways passes. But in a match like this, that was so important when none of his teammates other than Fred could complete a pass. Sometimes being sime is best. He personified that tonight.

Let him continue to learn with this staff and let him watch up close how Matic does it. Don't want to see him loeaned out.

The lad won me over, as he looked quite ordinary at the start of his senior United career. He has been immense lately, good passing, great composure, follows manager's instructions to a T. Long it may continue.

I like how he always in control of the ball when he is in possession , hard to dispossessed because he is good at shielding it. People don't really rate that kind of skills much compared to pace and dribbling , He rarely gave away possession cheaply by keeping it simple and tidy.

The injuries are a really a blessing in disguise and when we look back at this season I think it we will see that it was the best that could have happened. It has enabled McTominay, Pereira and Fred to get well needed full matches and now even against top opposition. Before the injuries few believed in them, now they have grown with the task and showed us what they can do on the pitch. Injuries have also given Dalot more minutes and also more minutes as an attacking player. It also gave Lindelof a good run earlier this season and injuries gave youngsters like Chong and Greenwood playing time at the most critical time against PSG.

His best game for us. Fair play to the lad, I've been critical of him but he was fantastic last night and seemed much more confident on the ball.

This kid can feel very proud of himself this morning. So many fans have questioned whether McTominay really has the quality for United. Glad to see him answer back in the best way possible.

Will Matic get his place back if McTominay keeps improving? I thought we needed a Matic replacement in the summer, I might be wrong.

He was used as a pawn by Mourinho when he played him at CB even though we had CBs available.

He's a clutch player that is improving with every appearance he gets, which tells me his trajectory will be very good. He came of age tonight, and Ole won't fear playing him in any game to come. Considering his age, he will become a dominant midfielder in years to come.

Disagree. Other mids were used there too and we had players massively out of form.anyway that’s not the only time people were sobbing away on his behalf, the poor guy.

He made it clear he thought we needed someone with composure and good passing at centre back and the club couldn't deliver it. McTominay was his best alternative in his mind. He sabotaged the team but the idea he went out of his way to throw McTominay under the bus is clearly ridiculous. He was one of his soldiers.

He was absolut a beast last night. Almost alone vs Verrati and Marquinhos, and did the job.

BTW I'm in awe of his composure. It's incredible how calm he seems to be. Nothing fazes him at all. If he improves then he'll be the biggest unexpected success story of our academy.

If you had asked me two three years ago then I wouldn't have put him in the top ten likeliest player to make it out from that group and now he's putting in MOTM performances against PSG in CL Round of 16. Astonishing.

Think Matic will still get his place back when he's back and fit, but I wonder if McTominay performances on this little run make the club rethink transfer priorities over the summer. He's looked more than capable.

The McTominaytor!

Still pretty limited going forward, but to have him as cover for the DM position is great. We can never have too many academy players in the squad.

So pleased for him. Unbelievable performance from the kid, so disciplined & tenacious. Can see why Mourinho loved him.

totally changed my view, saw him coming on for Scotland a few months ago, thought he looked slow and leggy, now he looks like a real player, just what we need at OT young blood with desire to WIN...Nice one SMcT keep it going

Him winning the ball off Verratti right at the end in a 50/50 then carrying it up the pitch summed the night up. Digged in and worked so, so hard. His passing is really coming along well also.

Agreed. He has absolutely no creativity or attacking threat, but that's fine considering his role in the team. He's basically the perfect big game player for us. Strong, tall, clever, extremely tidy and runs around for days if he has to. In any game where we expect to spend a lot of time on the back foot he's worth his weight in gold. You'd struggle to find a better midfield pairing than him and Herrera when it comes to choking out the opposition. It's no coincidence that McTominay's best games are always against the best teams, or that he keeps getting selected for those games.

Anything he says about defensive players can be treated as gospel. He is always butting heads with offensive players, but he can spot when a player can defend. This is why i backed Lindelof and Dalot from the off; because our former manager scouted him personally through his connections in Portugal.
So what happened with Bailly?
