They have no idea what they want, they proved that on Wednesday
Like toddlers who are complaining that they're starving but also don't want to eat anything in the fridge.I don't think most of them know - this is the problem.

The ironic thing is that in my view this is the hardest Brexit the UK is likely to get outside of a no deal - any renegotiations for an alternative deal will inevitably be much, much softer. Even if there is a 'Brexit' PM they will simply not be able to get a harder Brexit than what is currently on offer.Steve Baker, deputy chair of the pro-Brexit European Research Group lobby, says in a statement:
“This must be the final defeat for Theresa May’s deal.
“It’s finished. And we must move on.
“It has not passed. It will not pass. I regret to say it is time for Theresa May to follow through on her words and make way so that a new leader can deliver a withdrawal agreement which will be passed by parliament.
“This has been a tragic waste of time and energy for the country. We can waste no more.”
I'd expect that will come also.No you'd still need the Single Market as well.
But that means you're in the EU except don't have a vote.I'd expect that will come also.
Yeah that's right - it's a bloody ridiculous situation. This is what I have believed will happen since we voted out.But that means you're in the EU except don't have a vote.
I think she is likely to go next week - probably on Monday.Surely she must resign now? She can’t just go on.
You'd think, any other PM in history would have resigned long before now.Surely she must resign now? She can’t just go on.
The only sensible solution is to cancel it.Yeah that's right - it's a bloody ridiculous situation. This is what I have believed will happen since we voted out.
Yep. However we are not living in sensible times. The only sensible solution is to cancel it.
That is for sure.Yep. However we are not living in sensible times.
Very democratic. You'd think, any other PM in history would have resigned long before now.
For me it should be;
- Revoke A50
- General Election
- Second Referendum
The SNP are slimy cnuts. They argue for UK being part of the European Union whilst they actively pursue leaving our union. They’re a bunch of hypocritical cnuts. Can non-scots vote for the SNP?
Half the people moaning about democracy don't actually have a clue what it is.Very democratic.
Yes, if you live in Scotland. Can non-scots vote for the SNP?
Freedooomm!!The SNP are slimy cnuts. They argue for UK being part of the European Union whilst they actively pursue leaving our union. They’re a bunch of hypocritical cnuts.
Not really - they want to remain in the EU - be it if Scotland remains in the UK or if they become independent. So it makes sense for them to vote for remain. The SNP are slimy cnuts. They argue for UK being part of the European Union whilst they actively pursue leaving our union. They’re a bunch of hypocritical cnuts.
I'm not saying I agree with their position, but those 2 positions don't contradict. The SNP are slimy cnuts. They argue for UK being part of the European Union whilst they actively pursue leaving our union. They’re a bunch of hypocritical cnuts.
Because there is simply no other way out of this. Put May's deal to the people and tell them it's either that or remain. MP's then implement whatever they vote.I do not understand the desire for another referendum. How can you trust an electorate who themselves can't agree on what exactly they want?
I also would be against another referendum - it's unlikely to solve anything and will perhaps make things even worse.I do not understand the desire for another referendum. How can you trust an electorate who themselves can't agree on what exactly they want?
Could the SNP put someone forward to vote for in different areas? Pretty pleaseYes, if you live in Scotland.
And the DUP actively pursue leaving the EU while arguing for maintaining the Union. The SNP are slimy cnuts. They argue for UK being part of the European Union whilst they actively pursue leaving our union. They’re a bunch of hypocritical cnuts.
Well, no one is brave enough to just revoke A50 without another referendum. It'd be undemocratic or something.I do not understand the desire for another referendum. How can you trust an electorate who themselves can't agree on what exactly they want?
That would likely get it through to be honest. Then we'd have to pin our hopes on the birtish public, who I've not got too much faith in at the momentSoubry calling for the WA to be brought back to the House with the Beckett amendment (Confirmatory vote) with remain as an option.
Well, unlike the parliament, there will be a clear answer either way.I also would be against another referendum - it's unlikely to solve anything and will perhaps make things even worse.
Thanks for reminding me, they just seem to be talking a lot of sense right now, but I suppose that's not exactly difficult with the company they are in.The SNP are slimy cnuts. They argue for UK being part of the European Union whilst they actively pursue leaving our union. They’re a bunch of hypocritical cnuts.
It depends on the who's allowed to vote. If the voting age is lowered to 16, or if they allow BN(O) holders to vote, that should be a clear remain victory. That would likely get it through to be honest. Then we'd have to pin our hopes on the birtish public, who I've not got too much faith in at the moment
A bit like conservatism and liberalism in America. Everything from here on will be divided along brexit lines. If we do end up leaving, I will never vote for someone that wanted us to leave, regardless of other policies. Rather not participate. Its hard to imagine sanity ever returning to our politics at this point. It feels like Brexit has broken the system beyond repair.
The problem is, if you have another referendum and leave wins again with a majority of 49 - 51, then MP's and remainers would complain again that it was too close and there needs to be a more decisive outcome, and calls for another vote would appear.I do not understand the desire for another referendum. How can you trust an electorate who themselves can't agree on what exactly they want?
My way forward:Soubry calling for the WA to be brought back to the House with the Beckett amendment (Confirmatory vote) with remain as an option.
Absolutely. All trust is smashed and it's way more adversorial now- ie remoaners, Brexiteers are racists etc...Sad that it's driven a big wedge between my mother and her partner and the wife and I.Its hard to imagine sanity ever returning to our politics at this point. It feels like Brexit has broken the system beyond repair.
Don't be silly Mike that seems far too sensible! My way forward:
- Agree 2 year extension of Article 50 with EU
- Set up Royal Commission to investigate and provide impartial advice to the public on the implications of Brexit, in its various forms, in 12 months time
- Two stage referendum process (on one ballot paper) in 18 months time:
...- Q1: Pass Withdrawal Agreement or Remain in EU.
...- Q2: If Withdrawal Agreement passed, pass current Political Declaration or Norway+.
- Parliament agrees to implement result of the referendum.
