I’m sorry but how is anyone saying this is far from over!?

3-0 down to Barcelona and people think Liverpool can do it? I mean there’s always a chance. But it’s so so slim, it’s ridiculous.

If Barcelona score at Anfield, even a 4-1 win for Liverpool would see them go out on away goals. So realistically they’ll need at least 5 goals since Messi will likely score.

It’s done.

Now for Newcastle to kick them whilst they’re down on Saturday please. To get knocked out of the UCL semis and lose the league in a matter of 3 days would be utter bliss.
Many here are convince that despite Liverpool not being the best team in England they are somehow the best in the World. I keep hearing they got 90+ points while the fact that City have done it twice in a row seems to be completely forgotten. A City team who have spent the vast majority of the season without their best player too.

This miss though....can't believe it. 120mil player. He had all the time in the world. And he shoots with his left.
Messi should finish that. Barca overusing that pass in penalty box
Messi was tired, he ran in this game more than in any other this season. Dembele is a disgrace, looked like a player who was playing against his will.

It’s amazing that after the bestest season ever for Liverpool, they could still end the season with the same number of trophies as us

Can't imagine Barca post Messi. The collapse will be x10 more that what happened to Madrid post Ronaldo. Team is completely dependent on him despite having other good players.
They have good players but world class players? Messi is world class, Raketic and their goalkeeper but the other players are past their peak or just decent/good for that level.

Kirkland, basically saying Liverpool should have won... what a Wab. They must get an injection when they join that makes them totally brain dead. When you miss chances... you get punished, grow the feck up.

They're probably doping, as do most clubs
The thought did occur to me but surely not, they and other clubs would be caught by now. They were faster and sharper in pretty much every department today. Barca were on the ropes until the second goal. I could see only one team scoring until that Messi sucker punch goal.

Scoreline flattered Barca which is why I think this ain’t don’t yet.

Very low chance of Liverpool making a comeback without a Barcelona reply along the way. It's PSG level odds, and even that match was a freak incident for us.

Even these good players just look totally shite once Messi is rested on the bench. They're 100% dependent on him.

What a bizarre fecking game that was. For 75 minutes there was very little between them; if anything, Liverpool were the better side.

But at the end Barcelona can be disappointed about not putting the tie to bed with a 4-0 or 5-0. Dembele, ffs.

But 3-0 should be enough. It really should be.

Very flattering score for Barca in the end but Messi is just deciding this CL as he promised in August.

Lukaku hits a mean shot when he doesn't have to think about it and take a touch. So Lukaku would have scored the second and put the first out for a corner with his touch.
His first touch would've sent the ball in the same direction as Dembele's shot

Fair enough. Then they make the game look ridiculously easy. Spurs and Ajax, like Liverpool, just don't have the finishers to kill Barça when they're caught. Son won't be enough if Spurs make it.
You definitely missed firminho who holds the ball well, counter presses and make the forward line tick.

I don't think that a game that generates as much money as football does, doesn't involve doping at the highest level. It makes no sense for me

It might be weird considering we lost 3-0, but I actually think we played well for the most part and the score line flatters Barca. If only Mane or Milner or Salah had finished a little better.

Some mountain to climb next week.

Pool played well but lost 3-0 and we played shit lost 3-0 with young/de gea assisting Messi.

Second leg should be fun with pool throwing everyone and barca can pick them out.

Loved how everyone associated with pool (media) said they'd smash Barca and that guy with B-b-but they have messi (post of the year).

Daft game never in a million years was that 3-0 match. For long stages of it Barca looked slow and down right average. Liverpool should have scored a goal or two not sure how Salah missed that? but on the counter attack Barca should have made it 4-0 a few times.

Anyway not complaining and hope Barca have the sense to close out this tie now instead of doing something stupid like they did last year v Roma.

After spending the match wanking on about how great Liverpool are, some are a bit embarrassed to admit that they've been battered and could very easily have lost by even more

We are so far this level...very sad
Well theres only one way to go from where we are. The squad is awful, it really can't get any worse. Only our league position can get worse and really thats irrelevant because we will spend money to try and get into CL.

You really think so? the cyclists hardly ever get caught and that’s a sport KNOWN to be rife with it.

Pretty much every sport that involves cardio has doping. Running,swimming,fighting... I’d be shocked if football wasn’t.

Barca under pep were freaks, it’s pretty much an open secret they blood doped.

Where do Liverpool get the energy from? They never stop running. How are they not knackered out by this stage of the season? Or pick up more injuries?

It’s freakish!
While not to the same extent, it was similar back in 2014. They seemed to have tonnes of energy, though less quality.

They suffered for quite a while after though. I'm hopeful that they will be burnt out for a while after this season.
