Is there a link to this law?

I searched for like 10 minutes and I couldn't find it.

Closest thing I was found was this: "Advantage should not be applied in situations involving serious foul play, violent conduct or a second cautionable offence unless there is a clear opportunity to score a goal. The referee must send off the player when the ball is next out of play but if the player plays the ball or challenges/interferes with an opponent, the referee will stop play, send off the player and restart with an indirect free kick, unless the player committed a more serious offence." But it doesn't quite deal with the situation of what happens when a goal is scored.

I can understand when a yellow card offence is held up for advantage, but when an issue that would definitely be a sending off happens, surely you have to pull it back.
Not if there’s a clear advantage & the ref allows play to continue. Now, if there is an injury, you are correct, pull it back, but if there is an advantage to be played, play should go on. The dilemma then is if the ref is competent & confident enough to administer the retro sending off.

I just remembered Barcelona and Arsenal in the CL final in 06.

Lehmann fouled Eto'o outside the box, but Giuly ended up scoring afterwards.

The ref though brought it back and sent of Lehmann.

Did the rule change from then?
Unsure but I recall the Caf was near unanimous in the belief/view the ref fecked that decision and killed the match.

Too early, they'll never hold out for 40 minutes.

It's not condescending, it's a valid question, when have you ever seen someone sent off for a handball after the goal has been given?
It's one or the other.
I don't think a situation that occurred today has happened a lot of times throughout football tbh.

The ref would need to blow up for the first one to be a red.
He's obviously allowed the advantage, still being a great chance of a goal, and then it was a goal. End of story.
Then he should have administered the correct punishment to Arnold.
I would be surprised if Atkinson escapes any internal punishment from his referee association. Each game is graded & Atkinson dropped the ball & didn't perform correctly by not retro-punishing Arnold.

You guys could have made it clearer this was a goal, and not just some comedy, or smashing someone
My comment was from him dribbling it out with no pressure.

But I like to see myself as a clairvoyant

I was actually laughing at him dribbling the ball out of play for a throw in

I'm sure he did mess it up.

Was there a statement from UEFA/FIFA following that match regarding the decision? I can't recall it.

I know that Barcelona definitely didn't benefit from the decision though. They had a clear goal ruled out for just a free kick outside the box + a red.

Mustang Sally just got busted out. Many middle aged men started girating near me.

I’ve moved further down the bar.

I hate Liverpool, but find it bonkers anyone genuinely thinks you can have both a red card , and a goal for the same handball incident

There might be violent conduct situations, where you can have both together, but never for handballs.
Im not saying both but the goal would be disallowed for the pen and red card.
