Loan's a different story. £60m and a £400k a week contract and I'll top myself.
I can't see anyone paying a fee for him. Any club negotiating with them has them by the balls.

They are only 26 (possibly 29) points ahead of us and they are trying to improve their team.
Absolutely no need to panic, everyone stay calm, everything is fine.
But they are obviously going to improve their team anyway. They aren't going to sign Emile Heskey are they. You can't get worked up over City signing players.

But if he's good enough, why aren't Real keeping him themselves? They don't sell players that they rate
Real Madrid have sold some fantastic players the last decade, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Øzil, Higuain, Kaka, Robben and Wesley Sneijder. They also sold Carvajal to Leverkusen before suddenly realizing that he was a fantastic player, and bought him back. Zidane seems to prefer Modric and Kroos ahead of Ceballos, while Luis Enrique have been playing Ceballos instead of players like Koke and Saul.

Same shite every summer unfortunately. Any signings City/Liverpool make are greeted with howls of drama. Always made out like it's prime Messi, and how they "aren't messing around".

You'll also see the words 'scary', 'frightening', and 'terrifying' thrown around when discussing their future lineups.

You're also right about any improvement being negligible. Diminishing returns.

This is a team who over the past couple of years have had a midfield 3 of De Bruyne, Silva, and Fernandinho. Yet somehow we are supposed to be fretting over Bruno Fernandes. Please.
It’s usually because the signings they make are decent and improve the overall quality of their squad. City will sell Gundogan and replace him with one of the hottest midfielders in world football.

The likes of Foden can barely get a game yet they go out and buy a midfielder who’s just scored 30 goals....meanwhile we’re offering extensions to Mata, Young and Jones....they’re on a different planet.

But yeah they’ve only got 200 points in the past 2 years what do they know....

Don’t really care for Bruno but i hope we are in talks to sign Felix. If City sign Felix and Bruno, then it will be a huge disappointment, two very talented attacking midfielders with creativity and end product moving in one summer and we let City sign them both.

It pains me to say this but if we are looking to rebuild, we should look at how City did it - buying highly talented youngsters in their early 20s - Sane, Sterling, Mandy, Silva,Laporte, Jesus, Stones being the best examples.
We may not have CL but we can promise them a regular starting spot which should attract youngsters looking to make the step up. Dalot is one such signing but is a bit too young, Shaw is looking good, so is Lindelof. We have to make similar signings. We may not win much in the next few years with those signings and more than a few of them might flop but by buying talented youngsters, we will ensure that we have a great core of players who have played together for a long time and know each other well

We are looking at a massive rebuild and I would have felt much more reassured if we had a DOF and a definite style of play to build towards. I don’t think Ole is experienced enough to do this and I also doubt how attractive playing under him will be for players. I just hope we don’t screw up this window too because if we do a massive rebuild and axe half the squad just to replace them with similar shite players, we are looking at Top 6 fight for the next 3-5 years.

Like Sneijder and Robben?

Bale on loan wouldn't be the worst option.
Unlike Sneijder or Robben, Bales legs are gone and even worse his desire for the game is gone. The coach and the management are actively trying to sell him with Zidane not even talking to him (if reports are to be believed), yet he’s happy to get his pay check and enjoy the weather. As i said in the last page, he’s already in retirement mode and on top of that he never really wanted to play for us. I just don’t understand why on earth we would get Bale, even on loan. We shouldn’t go anywhere near him, an injury prone superstar who rejected us thrice, who is past his prime having lost all his desire for the game, but is on 400k per week is the last thing we need, not to mention we already have one of those at our club

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: When a club like Madrid tell players they can leave, it's because they're in decline.

If Bale turns out in a United shirt next season we're a laughing stock.
I think you might find, we're already there.

Get used to this, lads. Every player that we should sign this summer will sign for someone else. The season is not even over and City are already close to signing players.

We might get Bale or something. Then again, I'm not even sure why he would want to come here.

I'm slowing coming to this conclusion also. We still don't know what we're doing and all the best players will be at clubs by the time we get our act together.

Strange that the article says City see him as a replacement for Fernandinho. Surely they are completely different players?
Shh, if that's the way they see him as, just let them have, their defence need to get ready for this.

I'd guess Pep knows more than us, or does he?
Eh obviously he’s more knowledgable but that doesn’t change the fact he can get things wrong. Just think this guy isn’t nailed on to be a start like a De Ligt or M’bappe so don’t understand why people are so disappointed we aren’t in for him.

Nice being a journalist; write what the feck you want. They are completely different. Fernandinho replacement? We should be all over him if that was the case.

What more is we need like 6 or 7 new players while city need no one and they have a signing all but wrapped up before we have even pulled our finger out.

He’ll be class for them, you just know it. He’d be shite if we signed him, though.

Because young talented players like this are what we should be trying to sign. Or did you forget we have absolutely embarrassing 'players' permeating every position at this club. We don't have an embarrassment of riches that's for sure, Bruno Fernandes at this price is a steal, if he's good enough for City why isn't he good enough for us? We are well below their level.

City are most likely going to be champions and are already recruiting top players. Meanwhile, we are 6th, in a major crisis doing feck all. Still figuring out whether to appoint a DOF or not:lol:. Let’s face reality, we are clueless. Last year the same crowd kept on saying; stop panicking it’s only May. It’s evident we are a club with no solid structure, strategy or plan. Don’t care about missing out on this fella in particular, what does bother me is the fact our club is run by absolute clueless idiots out of their depth.

Silva, Fabinho, Bruno. The midfielders that would comfortably improve our squad just continue to pass us by

Well we have spent close to £100m on midfielders in the past 2 summer windows on Matic and Fred.....depressing isn’t it.

It would be better for us if we signed Felix imo.

Have we even been aware of this player or are we doing the usual and making a bid at the last second?
Well it's possible that Utd's name has been used to put pressure on City to sign him and weren't interested at all.

To be honest, I find it hard to believe any of these tweets.

Felix and Bruno are different players aren't they? They don't both play in a 10/front 3/false 9 (I thought Felix is accustomed to that).

Doesn't really matter, I'm sure City will go on to Felix too.

Me a few days ago: Well the gulf between City and United is so big it probably can't get any bigger.

Fred and Sanchez were both apparently good enough for City too, look how they turned out.

It's reports in Portugal, I wouldn't get knickers in a twist until it's official as it seems like 99% of rumours out of there are bollocks anyway.

We don't even need him, midfield is probably the least of our concerns at the moment.

Felix is naturally more talented and has the higher ceiling without question. Bruno is best at #10 and Felix from the little I've seen is more versatile due to his skillset.
