Was not tough for me at all. I praise him when he plays well. I dont sit there at games with my fist clenched when Martial is on the ball. I get up out of my seat like the rest of the crowd. However, I was one of the people who received the most criticism for pointing out his flaws. I did not accept all of the excuses being repeatedly made for him.

It just sounds like you are upset that more people are starting to agree with what I was saying, if I am being honest. You just sound bitter.
Oh man, you are something alright, dont even wanna know the process how you came up with that conclusion.

Your agenda crossed paths with current opinions about Martial, enjoy riding that wave till he is sold or whatever happens next.

Back to Martial, i just made a remark regarding current hate towards him, in context of him being attacked here last summer for having a kid and wait, werent you the one who pointed out at Martial being autistic or some shit before that. If not, i apologize.

All in all, Martial has his flaws, doubt anyone here claimed that he is fault free when it comes to some aspects of the game.

It’s not hate. It’s warranted criticism. Something which he has escaped from for too long.

Wouldn't single him out for his attitude. For example Rashford is expressing a Cristiano Ronaldo type demeanor on the pitch, but delivering Danny welbeck standard performances week after week.

But that being said it shouldn't be ignored. Each and every single one of them needs a kick up the arse.

Maybe for rest of them but not for you, everything revolves around JM with you, your threads, your posts, talking about comedy.

What ever Martial is, now is perfect time to vent some proper venom towards certain players, suddenly their clothing brands are reason for our downfall etc.

Period when his fans were feasting must be really tough for you, helping him to get his contract by, how did you put it, licking his balls.

I think character and work rate is something we should really look at more when signing a player. Martial really has this summer to reflect upon what he wants. Otherwise, if he doesn't kick on next summer, we should look to sell him.
I agree with you, but it's certainly easier said than done, especially with a young player. Lukuku's attitude throughout his career looked excellent - and he's gone to pot now.

Players are only human, and I'm not sure how we can predict how they react to being at one of the biggest clubs in the world with all the fame and money that goes with it. Lukuku and Martial have seemingly responded by giving up, by not wanting to improve and be the best and are happy picking up their massive pay checks each week.

Even with a great attitude, Martial isint as good a player as he thinks he is. When he leaves Utd, I could see a quite quick decline and see him plying his trade in Turkey within 3 or 4 years. We have indulged him, and we have reaped the rewards.

I’m guessing you haven’t seen any of the data about their relative workrates?

The fact that people seem to take my opinions soo personaly is intriguing. Says a lot about some people.

I am sorry I have strong opinions and beliefs and that I stand by them. It must obviously offend people.

Seems like I am in a few heads. A thread about Martial and people want to bring up Jose. Interesting.

Jose cannot be used as a deflection now, sorry.

Nah, you are just a hypocrite, nothing more, nothing less. See what you posted in Lukaku's and Mourinho's thread, and understand why people called you out.
Martial just got a new contract, he has a new manager to prove to next season, and most importantly he has ability that we can polish and develop, but many posters want to get rid of him. A 23 year old. We are just rotten from top to bottom, aren't we?

If people bring up Jose, how does that mean you are in few heads? Are you Jose?

Btw Jose isn't a deflection. He was a toxic man and was sacked which was the best decision club made in few years. Martial is another problem, who should be sold if he doesn't improve his attitude.

You can read the conversation. You then chimed in yourself. I’m not stupid. Yes, Jose was used as a deflection. I’m not going to argue over nothing, so this is my last post.

Damn people going all in on this guy, not surprising after posts from last summer. Guess section of it never forgave him for being used as beating stick for certain manager.
This was the first post. Nowhere did @R'hllor named you.

I can see what you posted in the Lukaku thread as well. You like Martial, and dont like Lukaku. Well done. If anything, this post makes you the hypocrite.

Exactly! (see above)

Although I wouldn't be surprised if some of these season go back to the days before when assists were counted.
If you simply compare Ronaldo and Martial, which is daft, Ronaldo had 48 assists against 29 for Martial. And that's without even considering the fact that Ronaldo was quite obviously a lot more productive outside of stats and actually playing as a winger. For me this type of PR campaign is unforgivable from Martial, it shows a lack of self awareness.

Wow, lazy excuse. His agent is poisoning his thought with this kind of thinking, no wonder. He's surrounding himself with these kind of people who will continue to let him be in this dreamy state that he's fine and doing well. Improve? no need, you're that good already.

Bet he's not even aware that's a problem -- social circle that encourage stagnancy.

Most of us are aware of his impressive goal-scoring ability per appearance, it's somewhat consistent every season... so no improvement then goal wise nor assist. Wow. Assist contribution seems to be getting worse. His latter three seasons have roughly the same minutes of games. *Ref. transfermarkt*

15/16 -- 17 goals, 9 assists (played way more minutes of games so that explain the higher number of goals.)
16/17 -- 8 goals, 8 assists
17/18 -- 11 goals, 9 assists
18/19 -- 12 goals, 3 assist
Ridiculous comparing him to the 3 legends. Giggs and Beckham are teamplayer, fighter and hardworker. Ronaldo also had an upward curve in growth, goal stat wise low at first, continually improving season after season in every aspect of his football, and he always give it his all and care enough to fight every game, eventually became a great teamplayer and he quickly became one of the best player after that with us.

We all know what Martial's many problems are.

So what would you suggest? Just sell him and buy a better attacker insantly with all the other glaring problems in our squad? This isn't football manager! he isn't a top priority when there are other shite like ashley young and that backline.
I meant your post is general, as in it's a mess. You are chatting about a moody Martial being our best attacker at the start, then he lacks enthusiasm and interest but we shouldn't sell him. If he's still acting the same keep him on the bench next year. A moody Martial is better than Rashford? We can't sell him or we are in trouble.
The way you constructed your post is an absolute car crash. It's like a few random thoughts were threw together in no order. Even in your reply above, your chatting about football manager and Ashley Young.

You can replace him and Ashely Young in the same summer. He is likely one of the larger issues in the front line right now, especially under Ole

The problem here is that maybe Pogba and Martial are a bit lacking in work rate at times, they do look a bit like luxury players, but unfortunately they are also our best two attacking players, and I really think it is hard to argue with that. If they both leave we will be really bereft of quality and we would have to pay a fortune to replace them. I worry that if Ole decides Martial has to go because of attitude in training or unwillingness to track back or something, then he might be sending a positive signal to the rest of the squad, but it would be a very expensive one to say the least, and I just can't see Martial sliding into obscurity - it seems more likely he will thrive somewhere else, maybe as a striker. I think we need to keep our best footballers and start the rebuild elsewhere. The squad has looked tired recently and we need to be careful not to overreact to that.

I consider his talent level to be pretty high, amongst the highest in our squad to be honest. His sole problem his his attitude. Whether it's continuing to train hard and improve your abilities or applying them consistently in games, this is holding him back. A lack of a proper mentality is a really hard issue to solve though. People always believe "he just has to get his head right and he'll be great", but adjusting someone's thought process is incredibly difficult.

Given our current squad situation, with Pogba (whose mentality is poor as well) wanting out and several others either wanting to leave (Herrera, Mata) or us wanting to replace them (Rojo, Darmian, Bailly (?)), I wouldn't be so quick to sell Martial just yet.

There's no question Martial's agent/pr is an idiot. That comparison approach is daft.

However, he's one of the most talented players we have and worth persisting with for one more season at least, especially as it seems we'll have quite a few outgoings of the creative variety. When Ole first started Martial seemed to have been working on his weak areas - people commented about that here. So what happened to change all this? Started after he came back from injury.

Ole should demand a great work rate, but he should also find a way to get what he wants from a personality like Martial. In addition to work rate, we need creativity, and those with good technique. Ole's seeming preference and bias for the work horses, and inability to manipulate other complicated characters to do what he wants, is worrying. Just shouting at Martial isn't going to work. A Fergie disciple should know different approaches work for different personalities.
You got a point and I would agree with you if we were in a better place, but we are in shambles. We need to go back to basics and work hard. We have no room for disrupting personalities in a rebuild.

That stuff from his Agency won't help him one bit, on the contrary.
Yup, until now we have compared him to the players currently playing but it seems his people want us to compare him to Becks, Giggsy and Ronaldo. Let's see how well he does

Sad state of affair if true. This should be his last chance or he will become the new Anelka. Let's hope Ole has the same criteria for Rashy and and Pogba. None of them have the right state of mindset going forward.
Judging by the way Ole high-fived Rashford after the game on Saturday, i'd say not.

Talk about deluded, Giggs and Beckham actually played as proper wingers in a 4-4-2 and wouldn't get half as many chances to rack up goals that Martial has as one of the front 3.

What's wrong with Rashford's mindset? He has always been one of our most consistent players when it comes to workrate. He's hasn't been performing lately in other areas of the game and he's obviously frustrated with that but how is that wrong? He still works his arse off for the team unlike Martial who hasn't taken his chances lately either.

I think people on here could see that Jose was right about a lot of things. That wasn't the problem. The problem was he was being a toxic cnut about it all the time and he refused to take any of the blame.
Should he have took the blame? Should he be expected to let players off the hook when they're drastically underperforming and not following orders? In hindsight i think the blunt and honest approach was the right one with these players, look how they've reacted to Ole's "everybody's best mate" approach. We Should have let Jose go through this team like a bulldozer and weed out all the problem players, because he was right about them all by the looks of it.

So this is what it means when someone says a player's entourage is clouding his judgement. This guy can feck off if that is aimed at Ole or the club.

Good. The fans licked his balls enough for him to get a 250k a week contract. Maybe if people stopped giving him excuses he would actually perform and earn that 250k.
Very true. I despair when i see the thousands of people praising him and Pogba on social media and on these forums. All they're doing is enabling their current attitude and leading them to think they're perfect as they are. No wonder we've not seen any development at all in their games and as soon as they're called out on it they start looking for a move. People just don't realise the damage they're doing.

Really like his ability when on form but such a shame he doesn't have the heart for the fight. Needs to be moved on to lay down a marker for what's expected in terms of attitude and application. Seems to be lacking in one or both.

I wonder how Ole is handling him? Different personalities require different handling. Ole seems obsessed with running around and not technical players. I still would give him another season. Seems like people want rid of the few creative players for the boring as feck ones like Young.

If the stories are true that he screamed at Martial after the Barcelona game whilst fecking Young got away with his nonsense for the first goal, then I would be upset as well. Ole would seem bias to me. Why not scream at all the players who fecked up? Why does he only have strength for Martial? Why not also include those who are making horrendous mistakes?

I don't have a problem him giving Martial hell, but at least be fair about it. Rash gets away with shit selfish behaviour on the pitch but he doesn't go after him as well.

The whole thing is disappointing as feck.
It is not about shouting at them for a shit performance.

Martial, Young, Rashford are all playing equally shit that is clear but one striking difference is EFFORT.

Young may not be good enough, may never have been good enough but he will give his best efforts even though we know that is not good enough.

Martial can give a whole damn more than what he offers, his attitude and effort on the pitch is lacking.

Rashford, as poor as he has been runs and runs for days in games so the effort is there despite his performances been shite.

Martial deserves the flack because he can do more whereas Young not so much.

Isn't it ironic that Martial's best form this season was under the manager he wanted to leave the club because of

He's scored what 2/3 goals under Ole? Lets be honest he's been shit ever since Mourinho was sacked

Remember that photo from the training camp? Ole regaling Martial, Rashford and Lingard with tales of United past, the lads faces aglow with enthusiasm? They were some happy times.
