I saw a few of the later series episodes of Supernatural a few years ago and I'm finding these earlier ones much better. I like the monster of the week format.

Beer guy. Jesus Christ what is that man doing with all the mincing about and cringing? It's so distracting and creepy.
 See I think the shiny knight Guy is more cringe but yeah the beer guy can be kind of distracting but I would enjoy him more if he wasn’t trying to be the Hunchback of Notre dame. That lead actress though

I don't know whoever recommended me "Riverdale" but you can get lost. What a boring and cringy show.
I don’t think it was recommended to you but was it not in the Arrow thread where me and someone else were talking about it’s ridiculousness and how some Red head is a better Archer that Oliver and that Archie is clearly the hardest character in all of the CW shows. He’s like 16 fighting mobsters, gang wars, drag races,Multiple serial killers, prison fighting rings, bears, weird skull dude, professional boxers and some how still has time for football, music and the ladies.

The knight guy is just standard bad acting, he's bland enough with it that you can just ignore it and carry on. Hunchback is distracting and you end up wondering what the feck is going through the guys head. Why is he hunching? Why is he making that face? Why is he cringing and going on like a cartoon evil scientist? He's not even chewing scenery, it's so distracting that he may as well be dry humping the scenery while barking like a dog.

I think she might be another of Australia's great exports.

Has anyone watched or heard of Euphoria? It’s HBO’s new show.

Just watched the pilot and damn it was good. It’s Zendaya (the greatest showman, Spider-Man) but she is basically a 17yr old just out of rehab and going back home and slipping straight back in to the life. Maude Apatow is in it as well who is Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann’s daughter.

It’s maybe a darker version of Skins, or if anyone has seen the movie Kids from 1995 it seems quite similar in tone to that. I read people are outraged by some of the content in it already and been complaining but I’ve just started the 2nd episode and holy hell :houllier:

Edit: I want to remove the bit about being like Skins, watched the 2nd episode and Skins is Disney World compared to this.
Have to disagree with you here. Watched pilot and found it rubbish - a collection of cliched, largely detestable characters. What could one expect from a teen drama though...

I feel like saying teen drama would paint the wrong picture of what it is. It is a drama yes, and it’s cast is centred around teens but it’s more Train Spotting than say Beverly Hills 90210 but I guess it isn’t for everyone. I’ve really enjoyed the first 2 eps but then I like really dark gritty things.

It may have been just that. I persisted with it for a 3 episodes but I just gave up. The equivalent of skin allergies for TV shows

Oh yeah you’ve got to crack on well beyond the 1st season for the pure lunacy of it and just how ridiculously unrealistic these kids are  it’s just stupid.

Actually maybe it was during one of the Iris(the Flash) rants as Betty is 100x worse than Iris for knowing everything and Archie would easily lay out Iris with a swift jab and laugh at her iron fist skills.

Teens who are basically grown up and who can do anything. It is a stupid show

Anybody watched Dark? It's a German sciences fiction show, on Netflix. People compare it to Stranger Things, but it's much more complex with lots of characters and their different times in life.

Season 2 is out, and I've been watching season 1 again for a refresher.

The ‘Kids’ reference makes it intriguing

It’s so full of cliche that for the first few episodes I thought that it was a genuine parody.

They have good looking actresses at least but that is nowhere near enough to make me appreciate the silliness going on in each episode. How tf do you come up with ridiculous storylines like that and get your show approved ?

I'm doing the same, good thing too as I had forgotten a lot of the detail. Show is excellent though, probably in my top 5 in the last 10 years.

Somehow it stopped being frightening after Chernobyl came out
Great show though.

This should be freaking amazing. The books are some of the best sci-fi ever written

First book is brilliant, especially parts within the game.

Heard the sequels are different, a bit afraid of that. Will see it for myself after Spin (which would be great as tv show as well).

Brilliant show. Between this and Perpetual Grace I have two new favorites.

I actually think its less dark than others like Kids because of the motivations and actions of two key characters Jules and Fez especially at end of Ep2 with the compassion shown.

for me, how dark the show ultimately goes thematically will be heavily influenced by that kid brother of Fez. Did the little kid flush the fentanyl? Or is he going to keep it and sell on the downlow against older bro's orders? For me how that kid character develops is going to make a difference

Sequels just get better and better. For me the first was the weakest of the trilogy. My personal favorite was Dark Forest (but that might be because it appeals to my strategy background and love of Chinese depictions of strategists like Sima Yi or Nirvana in Fire I and II

I knocked out season 1 so I'll get on to second season now it's out.
First season was like an adult version of Stranger Things.

Succession is such a good show. One of my favorites on TV right now alongside Barry.

No doubt late to it, but Big Little Lies is fantastic!

Really didn't think I'd like it cause it comes across as another Desperate Wives type show but it has surprised me and its quite dark in fact and a very interesting watch.

Finished Banshee for the second time. My all time favourite action show. Some good drama as well. It’s very graphic ott violence throughout, but that’s part of what makes it great. Series won best choreographed fight scene 2 out of four seasons. There is a new theme every season, and some things won’t make sense until the end, which I found cool.

Would highly recommend it!

It's decent but something is wrong if this again wins Best Miniseries over shows like Chernobyl and When They See Us.
If there is a season 2 how can they call it a miniseries?

The Last Czars are absolutely horrific  It's like a horny teenager's dream after scrolling through a few wikipedia articles.
